Standard Work, Coding Standards,CodingProcesses,Change Control,Coding Efficiency and General
Coding Expertise in a vendor package environment with Cache and VMS Operating Systems.

approximately $800,000 to $2,000,000 anually by doingthe work of an estimated 20 to 50 Full Time

of the functionality of interactiveand automated processing.
• Developed data extractions used by the Kaizen Promotion Officeto assistin the design of the Jones
Pavilion to optimize patient flow.
• Developed and executed urgently needed custom processes for the correction of corruptor partial ly
deleted production databases.
• Extracted and formatted the requested process documentation and processingdocuments for the annual
KPMG financial audits.
• Developed and implemented new processes and modified existingprocesses to satisfy requirements of
the annual KPMG financial audits.
• Designed and coordinated the implementation of a multipleuserid structure to allowVirginiaMason to
meet the annual financial auditsecurity requirements for the Enterprise Business Systems team members
access to the GE application. This was necessitated by the lack of provision for such security by the
vendor. No other clients of this vendor had a workable solution to this security requirement.
• Developed a vendor licensemonitoringprocess. This was necessitated by the lack of provision for such
monitoringby the vendor. No other clients of this vendor had a workablesolution for this monitoring.
• Developed Standard Processes for bringingthe production systems down and then back up again,
includingvalidation steps, in a timely, safe, orderly fashion.
• Developed Standard Processes for node switching/process rolling. This includes movingprocessing
between the two nodes of the system cluster to allowfor the performance of maintenance on each of the
nodes without a downtime for the organization..
• Participated in the development and maintenanceof standard procedures the GE Wipeclean/Recreate
process includingpartnering with GE in upgradingthis utility.
• Participated in projects thatinvolved "partnering" with vendors to assistthe vendors in establishingor

requirements of the "Electronic Medical Record" as the voiceof the patient - a firstatVM.
System Analyst Programmer IV March 2000 - April 2005
• Developed the sub-processes needed for moving processingbetween the Cacheand VMS layers in
automated processes. This was necessitated by the upgrade from MUMPS to CACHE. Intersystems did
not have a solution for this.Neither GE or any GE clients had a solution for this.
• Cultivated and maintained workingrelationshipswith members of all teams in ITto facilitatecoordination
of work efforts when needed.
• Developed automated WinBatch processes includingautomated process and application launching,
monitoringand notification.
• Interpreted and/or modified Cache processes developed by programmers no longer at Virginia Mason.
• Developed utility tools to be used by the team includingCacheroutines to automate the identification of
and modification of specific activities,in a library of over 400 VMS/DCL scripts with thousands of
activities,to new or updated Team Standards.
• Designed and Implemented a scheme for the distribution of processingbetween the two nodes of the
system cluster to allowfor optimized system performance.
• Established "access points"in standard automated processes in the Cacheand DCL layers to facilitate
monitoringand/or modification of process flows in any or all of those standard processes in temporary
and/or permanent situations.
• Developed and maintained ModifiableAccess Pointprocesses includingFSC/Plan Assignmentand
Combine VisitProfiles used in the GE application.
• Participated in the development and maintenanceof standard procedures for the in-houseRefresh
process for use on the Development and Certification Systems.

• Developed and maintained automated processes for patient and insurancerefund checks that provided
an increased level of security and stability.
• Developed and executed urgently needed custom patient mailinglistsfor the Corporate Finance
Department and the Corporate Legal department.
• Developed custom "one off" data extractions for use by the Business Office, Corporate Finance
Department and Corporate Legal Department.
• Developed an automated process for monitoringthe runningof monthly "CloseBooks" processes and
automated notification as needed. This was necessitated by a lack of consistency by the job scheduling
tool in runningthese processes on the correct schedule.

• Developed automated custom direct data extracts and custom reformatting of standard vendor reports to
meet customer needs.
• Developed automated interrogation of automated process logs to identify positiveand/or negative
results and launch appropriateautomated corrective processingand/or automated notification of the
results.
• Developed modifications to a sub-process to cleanly end processingof any or all currently executing
VMS/Cache processes upon completion of the current activity.(VMS/Cache processes can each have from
