2. INTRODUCTION
•DRUG ABUSE IS ONE OF THE MAJOR PROBLEMS.
•PROGRAMS BEING IMPLEMENTED TO ADDRESS THE
PROBLEM
•DRUG TREATMENT WERE DEVELOPED
• COMMUNITY BASED DRUG REHABILITATION
3. LITERATURE REVIEW
• Mauro et. al. (2014) stated that Community based rehabilitation (CBR) programs have been
described as highly effective means of promoting the rights and opportunities of persons with
disabilities (PwD) There is little literature providing rigorous evaluation of their impact on
people's well-being. CBR are often the main way in which PwDs access rehabilitation services
in low- and middle-income countries.
•Pescador (2020) also stated that Community-based rehabilitation is a beneficial treatment of
addiction as it provides opportunities to learn how addiction settles into a healthy mind and
body. The program contributed best to the peace and order, strong family relationship and to
the health and safety of the surrenders.
•Palaoag (2020) said that efforts of the Philippine Government in addressing drug-related
problems in the society, issues like lack of healthcare service providers and medical facilities to
offer rehabilitation programs has been detrimental to the success of these efforts.
4. •In the study of Co and Canoy (2020), it stated that the Philippines`s war on drugs brought about
an influx or people of who use drugs (PWUDs) availing of community-based drug rehabilitation
services for treatment, and programs have been created to develop skills to avoid relapse and
improve family relations and support throughout the recovery process.
•In addition, community-based treatment is a specific integrated model for people affected by
drug use and dependence in the community which provides a continuum of care from outreach
and low threshold services, through detoxification and stabilization to aftercare and integration
in coordination of health workers, social and other non-specialist services with strong support by
family and the community to ensure efficient and long-term results. research which reveals that
community-based programs with the greatest promise for positive outcomes rely heavily on the
principles of community action for social change and places a high value on community
empowerment; both concepts have their origins in the tradition of community development.
