Change agent who navigated difficult political waters to bring in a new insurance broker,
outstanding employee benefits enhancements, an entirely new benefits administration
system, a robust new wellness program that included a full-time in-house wellness
coordinator at no cost to the district, and an efficient open enrollment experience.
Negotiated the development of a new employee health clinic with waived office visit co-
pays for employees and their family members at no cost to the district.
Negotiated a health insurance renewal for 3,000+ employees with no change in plans and
no increase in premiums over a 21-month period. That allowed premiums to remain
unchanged for the district and its employees for a total of 33 months.
Limited liability to the district by properly and sensitively handling employee discipline and
mediation issues, never resulting in legal action.
Created all-new customer service standards, at the request of the superintendent, and
completed training for more than 1,000 frontline employees, which led to increased
employee engagement and a renewed sense of pride in the employees, their departments
and the district as a whole.
Increased the efficiency of FMLA administration and worker’s compensation programs.

Elevated to District Sales Coordinator in April 2010, taking over a mismanaged district that
had experienced very poor customer service and insurance fraud. Doubled the size of the
district in production and number of sales professionals while rebuilding the damaged
reputation and repairing business relationships.
Led the entire nation in production during the month of September 2011.

Led crisis communications efforts when the hospital took a direct hit from a tornado, ripping
off part of the roof. Efforts included the coordination of patient transfers, clean-up and
facility repair, and employee/public communication through various media.
Developed a nursing scholarship and bonus program to improve recruiting to the hospital’s
rural service area.
Served as coordinator of the hospital’s one annual fundraiser for 12 years, generating more
than $30,000 per year in a golf tournament on a 9-hole course.
