BACKGROUND
Moe’s was found in December, 2000, In
Atlanta, Ga., By: Raving Brands.Their
name came from, “Musicians, Outlaws and
Entertainers.” Does now operates over
5,000 stores. Some main things Moe’s sell
are:Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, Stacks,
Nachos, Burrito Bowls, White Rice with a
southwest seasoning, Mexican style food.

The company is co-owned — with
Schlotzsky's, Carvel, Cinnabon, McAlister's
Deli, and Auntie Anne's brands. And their
food is now sold in Wal-Mart shopping
Centers and grocery stores.
3. INTERVIEWEE’S BACKGROUND
CARLTON DAVIS
Mr. Davis is from the United States, preferably down
south Georgia, He started working for them as a
dishwasher, but with the experience he has already as a
Assistant Manager for Applebees, he moved up less than
a month working for them to a General Manager. Some
of Carltons responsibilities are: At Moe’s, his position
allows him to manage the entire business including the
employees, schedule, maintenance, truck orders/food,
payroll, and hiring. On employees he hires and fires
employees and keep them at a high end performance.

What do you like most about this job?
Interacting with customers and getting
to know them, making them smile and
making sure they have a great day.

What kind of problems do you deal with?
When a customer food is not prepared or cooked
properly.
Getting employees to stay busy and doing their jobs
completely.
Trying to keep employees able to work together and
get along.

Being able to communicate, listen and
understand guest problems.

How would you describe the working atmosphere
and the people with whom you work?
Challenging. Because when a person is having a
bad day, you have to be able to manipulate them
to bring out the best in them to work and put out
positive energy.

Can you suggest some ways a student can obtain
this necessary experience?
Listen more, absorb the feedback they are giving
you and being able to brainstorm
Never admit they are at fault at the same time
place yourself in their position, how you want to
be spoken to and treated.
10. WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT MANAGING
PEOPLE
Mr. Carlton states he has learned more about culture
than anything else on his job. Learning peoples
backgrounds like immigrants mainly and their way of
living and adapting to our environment.Their foods
they like are very much Mexican style only a different
way of cooking and obtaining their goods.
Managing others you have to be like minded and treat
others the way you want to be treated at the same time
considering their feelings whether is the employees or
the customers.
11. LESSONS LEARNED ABOUT MY
ABILITYTO MANAGE A RESTAURANT
My strengths are my drive for helping people. Being able to
multitask and staying positive and encouraging others to stay
open minded and in control of their responsibility.
My weakness is being consistent, effective learning skills, and
facing challenges without being overwhelmed and being strong
as not always being the “nice guy.”
