Experience
Xercise4less, Wigan
Personal Trainer April 2014 – Present
I have always had a passion for fitness. I have spent many years training to attain a good muscular physique myself & I enjoy helping others work towards their goals. I help motivate, inspire and guide clients, pushing them through both physical & mental barriers. This is a self employed position and sales rely solely on me and my ability to sell my services. I created my own logo and website. Marketing is a huge tool but I find online techniques have suited me & my business well as I use social media, blogs and my website to advertise.
Asda, Wigan
FLT Driver/ Warehouse Operative July 2009 - March 2014
I started Asda with no experience working in a warehouse environment. I learned the basic necessary skills quickly, passing all tests with full marks. I became a very efficient order picker. After 3 years the opportunity arose to gain an extra skill. I then passed my (in-house) FLT qualification. I found this role a lot more suited to me because it involves total concentration, focus, skill and precision in order to operate big machinery.
B&M Homestores, Wigan
Service Assistant` February 2009 – July 2009
This was a part-time role. However, I did expand my knowledge and skill speaking with customers. Additionally, because I'm of quite a big build, I was regularly asked to perform all the heavy lifting which I didn't mind. I helped customers out to their cars with heavy items and received all the delivery that came into the store. I enjoyed working as part of a team and also being the go to person if any form of help was required.
2. First Line Digital, North West
Sky Engineer July 2008 – January 2009
This was a highly skilled & technical position. I gained all the qualifications needed including: health & safety, working at heights, tools & equipment, installation, recognizing faults and servicing. This was a self employed position which greatly improved my organisational skills.
Lancastrian Leisure, Leigh
Assistant Manager February 2007 – July 2008
I started at Lancastrian Leisure as a full-time Fitness Instructor where I introduced new clients to the gym and the offers. I inducted beginners into the gym, showing them how to use the equipment safely & effectively. I also wrote exercise programmes for clients with certain goals (fat loss or muscle gain/ tone). I also taught classes including Circuit Training & Pure Cardio. Another part of this role was advertising to create new memberships. I acted off my own initiative and designed posters via Photoshop stating the gym's offers and had them printed in the local newspapers and printed leaflets to be dotted around town and businesses. I was then promoted to Assistant manager. This role involved covering the manager during absence. Opening and closing the premises when needed. I also took on the responsibility of writing staff rotas. I found this role challenging but highly rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the management team.
Body In Mind, St John Rigby College
Fitness Instructor May 2006 – February 2007
This was my first step into the Fitness Industry. I mainly worked evenings and weekends as the position was part-time. Generally, I worked alongside another Fitness Instructor and for a large portion of my shifts was unsupervised due to my working hours. This shows my reliability and drive to get things done to be highly professional. I was to write induction plans for new members. I also wrote Fitness programs for any members with specific goals like weight Loss or Muscle Gain/Tone. I really enjoyed working with clients to achieve their fitness goals. I was also in charge of opening up and also locking up the gym and the college gates at the end of every shift.
