15. Academic History
• In school I studied art and passed, which helped me prepare creatively for
media studies as well as helped me focus on colour schemes, and visuals
which would later help me with media. By taking art it helped know when
I was editing a project, the colour gradients I needed to use and what
went well. It also helped me with animations as it helped me plan and
draw cartoons. In college I studied media which is what I plan to study in
university, by taking media at college it has helped me know the practical
side of everything such as filming, editing and writing up scripts. In my first
year I made a music video, which was my first time using a camera as well
as the editing software but it helped me get use to all the equipment used
in film production, then for my FMP I made a short horror movie trailer as
well as a poster, applying all I have learnt from my first year. By doing all of
this I have found I really enjoy it and I love all the practical work to it which
is why I would like to do this for a future career.
16. Current Study
• Currently I’m studying creative media, throughout my course I’ve learnt to
do various practical projects such as, filming, audio, print and video games
then for my final project I applied all that I had learnt throughout the year
and made a horror trailer as well as a poster, using skills from my music
video project as well as audio and print. Doing all of this and learning the
practical side to everything such as using a camera, editing, and script
writing has helped me know what I want to study film at university and
now that I know how to use a camera and everything it will help me a lot
when I study the course at university.
17. The Future
• In the future I plan on working in film, I was hoping further along the line I
would get the opportunity to work with the big film companies such as
Warner bros and Disney. For the role I was hoping to either do something
in editing, or helping out on sets and maybe do some camera work. My
main goal is to be an editor as I enjoy doing that the most and I think I’m
better at it than filming. University will help me achieve this by teaching
me all I need to know about film production as well setting me up with
good contacts and good qualifications that will help me progress into the
film industry and work my way up.
18. Outside College
• I go to the cinemas a lot, usually it’s every week because I really enjoy
movies and I love the cinema experience and watching a movie straight
when it’s out is what I like to do. I also like to edit or photoshop pictures in
my spare time, usually it’s clips of movies I put together I enjoy doing that
cause it’s productive and it also helps with my skills for media. I think this
makes me a good candidate for university as it shows my dedication and
love towards what I want to do and study as it’s pretty much my life
outside of college as well.
19. Conclusion
• I want to go to university and study film production, I believe
this will help me achieve my future job of working in the film
industry and hopefully the big companies. I’m a good
candidate because I love movies, I love making them as well
as watching and learning all the different techniques needed
to make a movie, and I’m dedicated and passionate about it
as well.
20. Introduction
• I’m applying for Film production at university, I want to go to university
because I believe it will be the next step for me at my dream job which is
working in film. It will also help me get the qualifications I need as well as
providing me with all I need to know about film and camera work and
different editing software's used. Without university I wont have
anywhere else to go to achieve my future job and I really want to learn all
there is to know about film production and University is the best place to
do that.
