Informal, Conversational interview
No predetermined questions are asked, in order to remain as open and adaptable as possible to the interviewee’s
nature and priorities; during the interview the interviewer “goes with the flow ”.
.
Standardized, open-ended interview
The same open-ended questions are asked to all interviewees; this approach facilitates faster interviews that can
be more easily analyzed and compared.
Closed, fixed-response interview
All interviewees are asked the same questions and asked to choose answers from among the same set of
alternatives. This format is useful for those not practiced in interviewing. This type of interview is also referred
to as structured.
Editor's Notes
- Prepare in advance. Create an agenda and a structure for the interview, including time limits. Work with HR, peers and your staffers to develop a set of questions and topics
- You have to Come up with questions in four categories: fact-finding, creative-thinking, problem-solving and behavioral.
- Fact finding questions always seek to get a fact , Previous experiences , like ( how was your experience in team x )
- creative thinking questions that requires answers to measure his knowledge , as you can ask him “ in your opinion , how we can solve or maintain the educational system in Egypt ?”
- Problem solving ,and that measures how solution oriented he is , example ( how can you fix the problem that we are facing in promoting for our products at university ?
- behavioral questions , is related to his behaviors in a situation , as you can put him in a leadership situation
there are many types of interviews to be conducted , but preferably ( one on One Interview )
Agenda creation is a must , as when you schedule an interview , you have to inform the candidate what Is the time , place , how the interview will be , and to give him all the details he might need before he attends .
Always take notes about what the candidate is saying , as you can just write the highlights or things you want to follow up on later in the interview
