2. Why I choose
organizational culture?
■ An organizations culture can impact every aspect of
how the organization functions.
■ Culture creates an environment that directs
employee’s mental health, job satisfaction and or
productivity levels.
■ Previous work-related experiences where the
cultures weren’t adaptable and or flexible caused
me to feel curious as to what makes a work culture
healthy.
3. Organizational
Culture Definition
■ Daft (2010) defines culture as
values, norms, guiding beliefs,
and understandings that are
shared by members of an
organization.
■ Taught to new members as the
correct way to talk, think and feel
■ Organizational cultures exists at
two levels observable symbols
and underlying values.

4. OD Leadership Tools
■ Surveys were the primary OD Tool utilized to access the current status of the
organization as well as to glean which direction employees would like to see the
organization shift towards.
■ Surveys can help reinforce a sense of transparency within the staff and help to
cultivate an environment where employees feel seen and empowered to speak up.

5. Professional Pathways
■ My hope in learning more about organizational culture is to be a conduit to healthy
work cultures in my workplace.
■ This research project has allowed me the opportunity to dive deeper into how
management can support organizational initiatives that enhance an empowered
staff.
■ The overarching goal is to continue being a lifelong learner that takes up space in a
positive and effective way.
6. Conclusion
■ In conclusion organization cultures can predicate the success of an organization.
■ Organizations must work to analyze the data collected from quarterly organizational
surveys.
■ There is always room for collaborative growth that can be further supported with the
usage of technology.
