Twitter Activity Sheet - What Should You Expect?
First, review this presentation to learn how Twitter can be used in higher education.
Do you use Twitter? Twitter is a very powerful media and communications tool.
This activity is part of your participation grade and a great opportunity to learn Twitter in a class
(sandbox) environment.
Every week, you are expected to share at least:
1) One original tweet (of 280 characters or less, including a GIF, photo etc.) about something
related to the class. It can be:
o Something you learned
o An article/video related to something we discussed in class
o Something you look forward to learning
o A reflection on something we talked about
o Answering the instructor question and / or comment (if applicable)
o Responding to a Twitter activity set up by the instructor (if applicable, this will be
shown in class and/or Moodle)
2) One reply to a classmates' tweet; please be kind and respectful (you can reply OR re-tweet
with a comment)
Make sure to include the course hashtag ______________ and tag instructor _________ (if
relevant) in ALL your tweets. Also consider adding photos, images, and GIFs to make your
tweets more engaging.
To help you compose your tweet, you should first see what has been said in the course
conversation by searching for the hashtag: <Add link here>
As part of this Twitter activity, you will need to set up a Twitter account and gain familiarity with
the Twitter user experience. You can use the mobile app and/or web version of Twitter. See the
course portal for Twitter resources, but you may also go beyond as part of your Twitter journey.
If you have any Twitter related questions, you may e-mail or tweet me.
Important Notes:
• Re-tweeting and/or liking a tweet DOES NOT count as Twitter participation.
• In this activity, you will be graded on the quantity AND quality of your tweets. Be
creative!
• Make sure your tweets are free of spelling and grammar mistakes; use Grammarly
(recommended)
• Refer to Grading Rubric for more details.
