My Experience That Changed Me
Memories are part of our past. They help us to evaluate who we are and where we have been. Throughout my life, there have been many situations
that have changed me. This paper will explore the many different situations that have transformed me ever since I moved to the United States. It has
been 15 years since I left my home country, Chile. I can still remember like it was yesterday when my dad told me, "we are moving to the United States
", I was only 16 yrs. old and I honestly did not know what this move would mean for my family and I. the day I left Chile felt like any other day, my
grandfather, my uncle and my two cousins dropped us off at the airport, they all looked sad, but I was excited to leave Chile because I would finally
see my mom.
My mom had moved to the United States a year prior to our arrival. She decided to embark on this new adventure when she lost her job in Chile. I
think this was the first experience that transformed my life. I can't imagined how difficult it was for my mom to leave everything behind and move
here. She did not speak any English, she did not know anybody, but it was her courage and her willingness to sacrifice everything for her family that
made her stronger. As a result of this, she was able to overcome many barriers and be successful in this country. Reflecting on my mom's experience
made me realize that her sacrifices allowed me to have a better future in this country.
The second situation that transformed my life was High School. I

Personal Narrative: My Life Changing Experiences
Everyone will undergo a life altering experience at some point. It may only change a small aspect of everyday life, or it may change everything.
Sometimes it is a surprise, other times it can be panned for; either way, no one is ready for the changes that are soon to follow. A lesson is always
taught by these life altering experiences, but not always learned. I realize tragedy is inevitable, I remember that when I think about cancer taking my
best friend, my mother. I was young at the time, but never young minded! I knew well beyond my years, but I learned more than any teacher could
ever teach me when that awful disease won the battle. My momma was always my favorite person, my confidant, and ultimately my ride or die....show

On January 20, she received a call that I was on the way; that was not her first rodeo though, she had already been involved in four other adoptions
with my brothers Eddie and Bryan, and my sisters Candy and Nicole. At the age of 18, after her first born child, she got news that she had a brain
tumor and would soon have undergo surgery. For most, that would have ended dreams about having a big family, but not her, she saw this as an
opportunity to help more people. She knew children needed a home and she had one to give. That is the type of person she was, if there was a
way to help she would find and pursue it. She had the biggest heart, I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. My mother had many
honorable traits that include: being humble, honest, and reliable. She gloated of her success or material items or rub it in people's faces nor did she
think she was better than any other soul. My mother was brutally honest, she definitely was not a person I would want to insult because she had no
problem calling someone out in front of a crowd. She had the ability to make someone feel like they were either on top or completely under the

We all go through hard times but it is about how you look at them because you can make light in every situation. It is about how you let those rough
times determine the type of person you are gonna be when they are over. There is a point in everyone's lives, when their life will completely shift
because of some major event that happened to them. That situation does not have to determine who you will be or what you will do. You cannot dwell
on past events because it will only hurt you in the long run. We need to grow from those type of things because every situation is temporary.
To begin with, my life changing experience was when my parents got into motorcycle accident, that killed my dad. They were on the way home
from a restaurant, on highway two when my dad passed out on the bike. Both of my parents were thrown off. My dad was thrown into the corn
field and we think he landed on something hard or the impact of being thrown off was too strong. He had broken multiple bones and went into
multiple organ failure, which forced the doctors to put him into a induced coma. My mom was luckier, she walk away from the accident with just
two broken arms. She was released from the hospital within the first couple days. Secondly, the accident happened on Friday the 13th, the summer
of 2014. I was twelve years old and I talked to my Dad for the last time ever, the night before the accident. The last thing we said to each other was,
"goodnight and do not let the bedbugs bite, I love you". I saw my mom the day of the accident, we went to eat but my Dad was working all night.
After that, my mom dropped us off at our cousins for a sleepover so she could meet up with my dad. Later that night, I got a call from a random number
, which I never usually answer random numbers but I had a strong feeling that I should. When I answered, my parents friend was crying and trying
to explain to me that my parents got into a bad accident, at that point I had to give my cousin the phone because I was a wreck. After that, we went
to Porter Memorial Hospital where my mom was but I would soon find out my dad was not. I saw my mom that night but not my dad until the day he
passed away. I will never forget the way my parents both

A Life–changing Experience Looking at that small building that held too many big memories, I started reminiscing about the past and
remembering every little detail. I felt very nostalgic. Everything seemed memorable and remarkable to me: the cracks in the old building that we
used to make fun of, the old candy shop that we used to come to at night when we are too tired and too hungry to study, the pushes and the tiny
garden we used to sit at and stare at the stars, the roof we used to sneak to in the middle of the night just wandering and talking about everything,
and of course the playground where we used to run, play, dance, laugh and cry in under the evening sky, and even the school building and the dark
classes looked nice to me. Everything held so many memories of us. I knew that being at a boarding school would change me on so many levels, but
it never occurred to me that most of the change would be thanks to my friends, and I am going to talk about what I learnt from each one of them. The
most important thing I learnt in this school is...show more content...

Clive Staples Lewis once said, "Friendship ... is born at the moment when one man says to another "What! You too? I thought that no one but myself
. . ." , and that is how my friendship with Mai started. "She is my soulmate!" I remember saying that to myself when I first met her. It was the first
impression I remember having about her other than being one of the skinniest people I have ever met. Mai was my first real friend in the school; we had
so many things in common which helped us start a friendship that has gone through lots of ups and downs which only made our friendship stronger. I
remember talking to her once in our last year; I was exhausted and tired of

An Experience that Changed My Life Essay
It was Socrates who declared that to understand the mysteries of the Universe, a man must first know himself. When I consider the intellectual events
that have most affected me, I find most striking those that have let me understand myself more deeply. When I first read the topic requested for this
essay, I began thinking back upon the many recent intellectual challenges that have involved me.
A few experiences stood out. There was the philosophy and worldview retreat I attended in November that helped me understand the thought–forms of
my culture. There was my literature tutorship, which has taught me not only about great books, but also about Western culture, philosophy and, most
importantly, solid reasoning. There...show more content...
In other words, I began to better know myself.
Such self–discovery began at shallow levels, with simple questions. One of my first college–application tasks was to merely list my hobbies. The funny
thing was, I had not considered my hobbies in a long while. I live a life that includes many interests – from 4–H to folk music, from parties to politics –
but I was so caught up in the flow of this "real life" that I hadn't taken time to seriously think about what these pastimes were, and what kind of person
those pursuits made me. Just writing down hobbies was helping me, in small ways, to define myself.
Soon, deeper questions brought deeper introspection. One school asked me to talk about my dreams for the future. Long having desired a career as a
responsible and excelling journalist, I found myself elucidating my hope like this: "My goal, at least at this point of my life, is to become an educated,
well–rounded journalist – one with a strong grasp of history, philosophy and literature... I want to become an editor or reporter who can report fairly
and objectively, while still standing for absolute morals and truth – without succumbing to dogma and rhetoric."
As I placed these goals on paper, my ideas changed from nebulous thoughts to clear, certain statements. Facts about myself that I had generally
understood now seemed more certain, and more achievable.

Brief Encounter With A Person Who Changed My Life
Every day we interact with many different people. Some encounters are brief and some will be so important that they will impact you for the rest of
your life. I once had a brief encounter that turned into a life changing event. I has an encounter with a person who profoundly changed my future
.Through the meekness that he had while dealing with my fragile broken heart. The countless hours he spent mentoring and encouraging me through
the hardest times in my life.
It was an ordinary yet cold day in October of 2008 with the temperature reaching 53 degrees. I could see children waiting on the side of a dirt road to
board the big yellow school bus. They wore big fur jackets, boots, mittens, hats and had long double layered scarves wrapped around their small necks.
The school bus speed down the one way street and pulled over. Stumbled out the bus for his morning cigarette while the children fought over the
half upholstered wore out seats for the best place to sit. With a hoarse voice from years of cigarette smoking the driver screamed out, ' 'children stop
running ' ', then slowly made his way back to the discolored bus and drove off. It was there on the side of the unpaved road that my ordinary day took
a turn. That was the day I met my hero and the person who would profoundly change my life.
He stood 5'9, athletic built. His light brown almond shaped eyes screamed mystery and he walked as if he was gliding on a skating ring. When he
spoke it was of knowledge that was

An Experience That Changed My Life Essay
Introduction:
In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that change a person's perception happens to be an experience
that they have gone thru and learned from. In my case it wasn't necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on life. My mind
and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was
strange that pet owners loved and treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general definitely
changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because of a dog that entered my life.

The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to the left in a quick fashion. Seeing this made my
so happy. I would find myself looking forward to it when I was parking the car in the driveway. Tacha was one greedy dog too, she knew that she
was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn't looking she would run in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out
on the counter. One time I remember ordering Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another piece
he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this
funny, but there were plenty of nights when we couldn't get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog, she was also
aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn't stop her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the
house, and within 1 second we would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping off the bed. Times
were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her
to the chain and going back in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, "Come get your dog, come get

A Significant Experience That Changed Your Life.
I had my life set. At the age of 15 I had no worries, no qualms about life. My daily routine comprised of going to school, coming home, resting for a
while, waking up, going out with friends, coming back home, sleeping, and then repeating the same thing the next day. I didn't care about my
homework, or even classwork for that matter. Why? My dad. He was the shelter to my 'whatever–who–cares' lifestyle. He gave me designer clothing,
watches and accesories more expensive than many of my classmate's whole attire, an extremely comfortable and stylish ride to go to school with– i had
everything. To my 15 year old brain it was all that mattered, and my 15 year old brain knew that even if it never studied, the person whose it was,

Dad moved his lips wearily, barely a whisper coming from him, 'Afnan, I love you son, and I tried to give you all I could, but maybe I failed, I know i
did, but I tried. Forgive me if I couldnt. But still as your dad I ask only one thing from you. Will you give it to me?' I was at a loss of words but I
managed to nod frantically, because he was the one who really did give me everything, everything he could, and I will do the same for him. So, he
continued, ' I want you to repair my mistakes and make yourself a man that your son would be proud of, that I would be proud of.' This one single
line changed the entire course of my life. I became a man on a mission, mission to make his idol proud! I started studying, I started helping people,
I started trying to save my dad's fallen empire, I did all in my power! Seeing me become sensible and seeing me actually growing up, my dad started
recovering. The more sensible and practical I became the better dad got. Untill one day he was completely recovered. To this day it has been the
greatest success of my life, I know I didnt recover my dad, but in a silent word of passing I know my dad is proud of me, and that is the biggest
success one can have. That is the most significant life experience of mine because for me, it was my rite of passage, my coming of

As a typical teenager, I have gone through countless amounts of experiences and challenges in my life. The decisions that I have made in the past
has given me two separate outcomes, and these outcomes influenced me positively and negatively depending on the environment given. As I grow
older I commence to cerebrate that my life is getting harder and more challenging due to the pressure emanating from parents and school. The
challenges give me motivations to work even harder until I achieve my goals, and dreams in life. Every stage of life starting from toddler to
teenager to adult and then to old carries the permutation of both happiness and sadness. While some people feel delighted of talking about teenage
years, some cherish their adulthood, even old age. During my current time of magnification and individuality, I have experienced a rapid amount of
changes in physical and noetic attributes, which has influenced my life, dreams, relationships, and overall ecstasy. As time flies we change, our
knowledge, dreams, and experiences with certain things have a major role in what and who we are. A typical teenager will think that the "Teen
Years" is the hardest point of their life where they have to give up or just simply accept defeat. But that's not the case for me, I have the courage to
surmount fears, and that has influenced me positively towards my school achievements and responsibility, "In order to Succeed, your desire for
success should be greater than you fear of

My Experience that Changed Me– Personal Narrative I went to camp for the first time last summer to get away from the pressures of home and
school. Camp was a month long, I have never been away from my parents more than a week. I was very anxious. I had no idea what situations to
expect and how I would handle them. I started to really wonder about my life. The way it was going was not the best for me. I can "run away" from
my reality, but I know that I was going to have to come back to it in a month. The way I treat people was total opposite from how I treated my
parents. What my friends were capable of doing was not a bit close to what my parents would let me do, my parents are very narrow minded. My

were going to come visit us in a day or two. I started to be nice to Jenna and she was nice to me, but I sensed that she didn't want to be friends. She

were yelling at each other and it only got worse by the second. I came up to them and started to hear what they were saying, since I was on lauren's

My Experience That Changed My Life
In High School I had to write a paragraph about an experience that changed my life, I decided to write about parents and the effect their decision
had on me. Growing up, my parents argued mentally and physically. My parents getting a divorce were difficult to go through as a child, the
arguing still goes on in my head sometimes. If you are thinking I am scarred no I am not it is just something that is not easy to forget. As a 10 year
old I had mixed feelings and I didn't know what to do and I didn't know who to talk to about what was wrong. For some reason I felt it was my fault in
a way because I never tried to make them reconsider. It was a very emotional roller coaster for me, especially since I didn't understand until I got older.
I remember sometimes waking up in the middle of the night hearing my parents fussing and swearing. It was heart breaking hearing them talk to each
other like that. I used to go hug my mom and asked what happened afterward, she always told me nothing and rocked me to sleep. I didn't think
anything about it, but then again, I didn't know any better. When the fights got physical my sister and I would usually step in or they would stop
themselves because we would be screaming. The day they decided to go get a divorce, it was early in the morning they were arguing. I got between my
mom and dad, he pushed mom and I both down. They started hitting at each other and I was between them. After they stopped my mom called the

Life Experience Essay
Life is full of exciting experiences for us to enjoy. However, these experiences are meant to teach life lessons that should remain with us. In my 17
years of living, I have had many lessons to be learned from events I have gone through. One of those lessons sticks out above the rest and it has a
humorous story to go along with it.
The story starts out with the group planning a get together while eating breakfast at Mcdonald's. Ideas were flowing out of our heads like a river.
We could not agree on a plan of action for the longest time. Finally, it was decided that we should go to Kenzie's house after she said her dad
would cook for us. I was immediately down for that idea because I knew her dad makes the best chicken wings ever. The rest of the day for me was
spent thinking about what to wear that night. Eventually, the time came for heading over to Kenzie's house. Bailey, another girl in the group, asked
me to give her a ride since she did not have her driver's license. Because of this, we were one of the last ones to make it to Kenzie's. In the time that
we missed the group decided that they wanted to go and toilet paper some of our friend's houses that lived close to Kenzie. I had never done
something like this before. However, the excitement of doing this and avoid being caught appealed to me. We all piled into the cars and headed to
Wal–Mart to buy the toilet paper. We had an interesting event that happened to us while we were in Wal–Mart. The event was when

Life Changing Experiences Of Change In My Life
There are hundreds of experiences that have had some sort of impact on my life. Some are very small and some are much more life altering.
Although, these life changing events do not happen often, they happen to everyone. I have had a few major, life changing occurrences in my
lifetime, some are good and some are not so good. One of them that stands out the most to me and has impacted me the greatest is something
everyone experiences at some point in their lives. For me, it was on October 20th, 2015, when I was 13 years old, the day my first dog Lucky died.

I texted my mom during lunch asking how it went. She said that she would tell me later. That was the first warning sign, but I just brushed it off.
When my mom picked me, I immediately asked was how Lucky was. My mom was acting much different than usual, she was very quiet. She told
me that the vet said Lucky had kidney disease and all they could do is give him pain medicine and try to keep him alive until that weekend when
my dad got home on Friday. My first reaction was denial. All I could think was, surely a dog that I had loved so much all my life could not die. I
refused to believe the truth, I spent the entire evening looking up kidney disease, trying to find a solution that did not exist. I refused to eat or
leave Lucky's side. I knew his health had been declining, but I kept telling myself Lucky will get better. The issue was, I was only denying the
inevitable. The next day was the hardest of my life. At school, I could not focus, all I could do was think about Lucky. That night, I had to cheer at a
game about an hour away. At first I was not sure if I wanted to go, but my friends convinced me it would be good to get mymind of Lucky for a little
bit. Around the middle of the first quarter I saw my little brother show up with one of his friends. I immediately knew something was very wrong, why
would my brother come to an away game, especially so far away without my mom, I knew my mom did not have anything going on that night.

Have you ever had an experience that changed your life? For better or worse? Well I have and little did I know at the time that it was going to change
my life forever. One day, I was outside playing with my friends celebrating my birthday when my parents called me inside. They never did this so I felt
that I was in trouble. But that wasn't the case at all. They sat me down and said,"How do you feel about being big sister?" Best. Present. Ever. I was so
excited to have a baby sister that I felt like I was going numb all over.I felt as bright as a highlighter. I just kept shaking my head saying "yes yes yes
yes yes yes yes." I felt like it wasn't even happening because I never thought it would. I had been an only child all my life. What will it be like to have
a baby in the house?? I was soon to find out. Addie ( my sister) was born and everything was amazing. My dad found a new job as a special needs
teacher at a school called Highland Park. I had no idea what that was because it was a very small school and I went to a very big school. Prairie View.
So, once again, my parents sat me down and said,"How would you like to go to school where dad works?" This made me very nervous. I had plenty of
friends at the school I went to now and I was very happy. But with a little convincing, I said yes. And I am so glad I did. On my first day of school
walking in felt like the walks were going to eat me up or crush me, but that quickly changed. This new school was small, but it seemed

My Experience That Changed My Life
I have had many events in my life that have made a difference, however one event that has changed my life forever was that day that I met my wife.
If I hadn 't had met her there would be many things that wouldn 't have happened. First off I probably wouldn't be married today as I wasn 't
actively looking for a girlfriend at the time, I wouldn't have daughter and I wouldn't be the person that I am today. With out a doubt meeting my
wife while I was working and having the guts to ask her out on our first date was an event that made a difference in my life. To start things off I
was working at my part time job at a local gun store. My best friend told me that he had a girl coming over to meet me that he thought I might like.
I was a little hesitant at first because it had been a while since I had been on date. He keep telling me that everything would be ok and not to worry
about it. It was on a Friday, December 09, 2011 that this girl was supposed to come to the shop to meet me, I was nervous the whole day. The day
was coming to an end, we were only going to be open for about another 45 minutes, when I saw the door open. I was able to tell that a woman was
coming in and when she came around the corner I was fairly certain that this was girl he was talking. As she walked in, wearing black pants and a
black Subway shirt, I asked her if there was anything we could help her with and she walked up to me and my friend. My friend then introduced the

My Experience That Changed My Life
In my lifetime there have been many breathtaking and wonderful experience's I have had the pleasure in being a part of, only one experience comes
to mind when I think about a personal experience that's dear to me. The experience that is most dear to me would one that changed my view on life
and the path I was pathed for myself along the way.
To begin with, when I was seventeen years old and still in school life was hard and very stressful, I know many people would say that life was easy
with no bills to pay and a roof over my head, but my living environment wasn't the issue. The main issue I had when I was still in school was the
pressure I had resting on my shoulders, my family always had high hopes, and expectations for me, and I always felt so overwhelmed when it came
to school and the grades we were given each quarter on our report cards. I didn't want to disappoint my family and ruin their view towards me as a still
in progress student at Haines City High School, when it came down to it I failed and I felt so horrible knowing I would have to repeat the year
because I was either slacking on homework or being poorly graded on classroom assignments. As soon as I started seeing the world in black and
white and losing hope for graduation I got called to the schools main office for a parent teacher conference. At that moment I was frightened, not
because of my grades or my work ethics, but because that conference had the potential to change my families

My Experience That Has Changed My Life
As a teenager, I was in a motorcycle accident that significantly affected my life. My life was drastically changed by it both temporarily and
permanently. The experience taught me many things but is also one of the most prominent memories that I have as a young adult. It was a beautiful,
sunny summer day, I was riding the four–wheeler with my boyfriend, Chris. After returning to his house, a friend of ours called wanting us to come
over for dinner. We took off on the motorcycle to their house, driving down Highway 53 towards Dawsonville. The sun was on our backs as we
drove through the curvy roads, miles of forest on either side of the road. Being on a motorcycle was one of my favorite ways to travel, it was
freeing and exhilarating. Chris and I arrived there about four o'clock in the afternoon, and joined them in the backyard. They had burgers cooking
on the grill, we all talked, laughed and enjoyed ourselves. It was a warm day, great for horseshoes, girls against guys we played for hours taking
turns winning, mostly the girls. As the sun began to go down, we started to clean up and headed inside to watch a movie. When it ended it was a little
after nine at night and it had started to get dark. Knowing the roads home were curvy, we thought it best to leave. We climbed back on the motorcycle
and headed back to Chris' house. It was a beautiful, clear, starry night; the forests looked magnificent under the moonlight, like something out of a
fairytale. As we neared

Timmy Hill: An Experience That Changed My Life
When I was given the assignment to write an essay on an experience that changed my life, one thing instantly came to mind; In June of last year I
lost my nephew, Timmy Hill. Experiencing this loss has greatly changed my life in many ways. Of course, a loss like this comes with many
negative changes, but in some ways it has given me a new drive. I have learned to experience new things, I have been inspired to live a more active
life, and I have a new will to accomplish things he would have been proud to see me accomplish.
On Friday June 13th 2014, I was woken up by my mother at 5am, saying my sister had something to tell us. She started by saying 'Timmy's gone'.
My half asleep brain was still going 'gone where?' as she explained he had been...show more content...
He had many friends, he was adventurous, and he enjoyed helping people. Since his death many people have come to the family with stories of how
he helped them without being asked, or without wanting anything in return. Inspired by the many stories, we formed a group called Timmy's Angels.
Last Christmas I helped prepare meals and hand them out to the needy, such as the homeless or the elderly who were alone for the holidays. Talking
to people, hearing their stories, and being able to help them in some way was a very rewarding experience. Were it not for this loss, I probably would
not have gotten involved in a charity project such as this.
To feel closer to him, his family and friends started to gather together to do activities he enjoyed. As part of this I got to experience many things I
would likely have never done before, such as going 'mudding'. Which, from what I gathered, is basically running through the mud in various types
of vehicles pretending you are in the car chase of a movie. I was also convinced to fire a shotgun for the first time. I cannot help but feel if he were
there he would have been slightly disappointed I was not knocked over from the kick, as that would have been his type of

My Experience That Changed Me

  • 1. My Experience That Changed Me Memories are part of our past. They help us to evaluate who we are and where we have been. Throughout my life, there have been many situations that have changed me. This paper will explore the many different situations that have transformed me ever since I moved to the United States. It has been 15 years since I left my home country, Chile. I can still remember like it was yesterday when my dad told me, "we are moving to the United States ", I was only 16 yrs. old and I honestly did not know what this move would mean for my family and I. the day I left Chile felt like any other day, my grandfather, my uncle and my two cousins dropped us off at the airport, they all looked sad, but I was excited to leave Chile because I would finally see my mom. My mom had moved to the United States a year prior to our arrival. She decided to embark on this new adventure when she lost her job in Chile. I think this was the first experience that transformed my life. I can't imagined how difficult it was for my mom to leave everything behind and move here. She did not speak any English, she did not know anybody, but it was her courage and her willingness to sacrifice everything for her family that made her stronger. As a result of this, she was able to overcome many barriers and be successful in this country. Reflecting on my mom's experience made me realize that her sacrifices allowed me to have a better future in this country. The second situation that transformed my life was High School. • 2. Personal Narrative: My Life Changing Experiences Everyone will undergo a life altering experience at some point. It may only change a small aspect of everyday life, or it may change everything. Sometimes it is a surprise, other times it can be panned for; either way, no one is ready for the changes that are soon to follow. A lesson is always taught by these life altering experiences, but not always learned. I realize tragedy is inevitable, I remember that when I think about cancer taking my best friend, my mother. I was young at the time, but never young minded! I knew well beyond my years, but I learned more than any teacher could ever teach me when that awful disease won the battle. My momma was always my favorite person, my confidant, and ultimately my ride or die....show more content... On January 20, she received a call that I was on the way; that was not her first rodeo though, she had already been involved in four other adoptions with my brothers Eddie and Bryan, and my sisters Candy and Nicole. At the age of 18, after her first born child, she got news that she had a brain tumor and would soon have undergo surgery. For most, that would have ended dreams about having a big family, but not her, she saw this as an opportunity to help more people. She knew children needed a home and she had one to give. That is the type of person she was, if there was a way to help she would find and pursue it. She had the biggest heart, I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. My mother had many honorable traits that include: being humble, honest, and reliable. She gloated of her success or material items or rub it in people's faces nor did she think she was better than any other soul. My mother was brutally honest, she definitely was not a person I would want to insult because she had no problem calling someone out in front of a crowd. She had the ability to make someone feel like they were either on top or completely under the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. We all go through hard times but it is about how you look at them because you can make light in every situation. It is about how you let those rough times determine the type of person you are gonna be when they are over. There is a point in everyone's lives, when their life will completely shift because of some major event that happened to them. That situation does not have to determine who you will be or what you will do. You cannot dwell on past events because it will only hurt you in the long run. We need to grow from those type of things because every situation is temporary. To begin with, my life changing experience was when my parents got into motorcycle accident, that killed my dad. They were on the way home from a restaurant, on highway two when my dad passed out on the bike. Both of my parents were thrown off. My dad was thrown into the corn field and we think he landed on something hard or the impact of being thrown off was too strong. He had broken multiple bones and went into multiple organ failure, which forced the doctors to put him into a induced coma. My mom was luckier, she walk away from the accident with just two broken arms. She was released from the hospital within the first couple days. Secondly, the accident happened on Friday the 13th, the summer of 2014. I was twelve years old and I talked to my Dad for the last time ever, the night before the accident. The last thing we said to each other was, "goodnight and do not let the bedbugs bite, I love you". I saw my mom the day of the accident, we went to eat but my Dad was working all night. After that, my mom dropped us off at our cousins for a sleepover so she could meet up with my dad. Later that night, I got a call from a random number , which I never usually answer random numbers but I had a strong feeling that I should. When I answered, my parents friend was crying and trying to explain to me that my parents got into a bad accident, at that point I had to give my cousin the phone because I was a wreck. After that, we went to Porter Memorial Hospital where my mom was but I would soon find out my dad was not. I saw my mom that night but not my dad until the day he passed away. I will never forget the way my parents both Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Name: Nada Osama Askar ID: 1610103 Section: 5 A Life–changing Experience Looking at that small building that held too many big memories, I started reminiscing about the past and remembering every little detail. I felt very nostalgic. Everything seemed memorable and remarkable to me: the cracks in the old building that we used to make fun of, the old candy shop that we used to come to at night when we are too tired and too hungry to study, the pushes and the tiny garden we used to sit at and stare at the stars, the roof we used to sneak to in the middle of the night just wandering and talking about everything, and of course the playground where we used to run, play, dance, laugh and cry in under the evening sky, and even the school building and the dark classes looked nice to me. Everything held so many memories of us. I knew that being at a boarding school would change me on so many levels, but it never occurred to me that most of the change would be thanks to my friends, and I am going to talk about what I learnt from each one of them. The most important thing I learnt in this school is...show more content... I had a special bond to each one of them, and I learnt so much from them and from being with them. Clive Staples Lewis once said, "Friendship ... is born at the moment when one man says to another "What! You too? I thought that no one but myself . . ." , and that is how my friendship with Mai started. "She is my soulmate!" I remember saying that to myself when I first met her. It was the first impression I remember having about her other than being one of the skinniest people I have ever met. Mai was my first real friend in the school; we had so many things in common which helped us start a friendship that has gone through lots of ups and downs which only made our friendship stronger. • 5. An Experience that Changed My Life Essay It was Socrates who declared that to understand the mysteries of the Universe, a man must first know himself. When I consider the intellectual events that have most affected me, I find most striking those that have let me understand myself more deeply. When I first read the topic requested for this essay, I began thinking back upon the many recent intellectual challenges that have involved me. A few experiences stood out. There was the philosophy and worldview retreat I attended in November that helped me understand the thought–forms of my culture. There was my literature tutorship, which has taught me not only about great books, but also about Western culture, philosophy and, most importantly, solid reasoning. There...show more content... In other words, I began to better know myself. Such self–discovery began at shallow levels, with simple questions. One of my first college–application tasks was to merely list my hobbies. The funny thing was, I had not considered my hobbies in a long while. I live a life that includes many interests – from 4–H to folk music, from parties to politics – but I was so caught up in the flow of this "real life" that I hadn't taken time to seriously think about what these pastimes were, and what kind of person those pursuits made me. Just writing down hobbies was helping me, in small ways, to define myself. Soon, deeper questions brought deeper introspection. One school asked me to talk about my dreams for the future. Long having desired a career as a responsible and excelling journalist, I found myself elucidating my hope like this: "My goal, at least at this point of my life, is to become an educated, well–rounded journalist – one with a strong grasp of history, philosophy and literature... I want to become an editor or reporter who can report fairly and objectively, while still standing for absolute morals and truth – without succumbing to dogma and rhetoric."
  • 6. As I placed these goals on paper, my ideas changed from nebulous thoughts to clear, certain statements. Facts about myself that I had generally understood now seemed more certain, and more achievable. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Brief Encounter With A Person Who Changed My Life Every day we interact with many different people. Some encounters are brief and some will be so important that they will impact you for the rest of your life. I once had a brief encounter that turned into a life changing event. I has an encounter with a person who profoundly changed my future .Through the meekness that he had while dealing with my fragile broken heart. The countless hours he spent mentoring and encouraging me through the hardest times in my life. It was an ordinary yet cold day in October of 2008 with the temperature reaching 53 degrees. I could see children waiting on the side of a dirt road to board the big yellow school bus. They wore big fur jackets, boots, mittens, hats and had long double layered scarves wrapped around their small necks. The school bus speed down the one way street and pulled over. Stumbled out the bus for his morning cigarette while the children fought over the half upholstered wore out seats for the best place to sit. With a hoarse voice from years of cigarette smoking the driver screamed out, ' 'children stop running ' ', then slowly made his way back to the discolored bus and drove off. It was there on the side of the unpaved road that my ordinary day took a turn. That was the day I met my hero and the person who would profoundly change my life. He stood 5'9, athletic built. His light brown almond shaped eyes screamed mystery and he walked as if he was gliding on a skating ring. When he spoke it was of knowledge that was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. An Experience That Changed My Life Essay Introduction: In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that change a person's perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned from. In my case it wasn't necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because of a dog that entered my life. People say a man's...show more content... The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to the left in a quick fashion. Seeing this made my so happy. I would find myself looking forward to it when I was parking the car in the driveway. Tacha was one greedy dog too, she knew that she was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn't looking she would run in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out on the counter. One time I remember ordering Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another piece he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this funny, but there were plenty of nights when we couldn't get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog, she was also aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn't stop her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the house, and within 1 second we would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping off the bed. Times were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her to the chain and going back in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, "Come get your dog, come get your dog, she's chasing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. A Significant Experience That Changed Your Life. I had my life set. At the age of 15 I had no worries, no qualms about life. My daily routine comprised of going to school, coming home, resting for a while, waking up, going out with friends, coming back home, sleeping, and then repeating the same thing the next day. I didn't care about my homework, or even classwork for that matter. Why? My dad. He was the shelter to my 'whatever–who–cares' lifestyle. He gave me designer clothing, watches and accesories more expensive than many of my classmate's whole attire, an extremely comfortable and stylish ride to go to school with– i had everything. To my 15 year old brain it was all that mattered, and my 15 year old brain knew that even if it never studied, the person whose it was, could enjoy...show more content... Dad moved his lips wearily, barely a whisper coming from him, 'Afnan, I love you son, and I tried to give you all I could, but maybe I failed, I know i did, but I tried. Forgive me if I couldnt. But still as your dad I ask only one thing from you. Will you give it to me?' I was at a loss of words but I managed to nod frantically, because he was the one who really did give me everything, everything he could, and I will do the same for him. So, he continued, ' I want you to repair my mistakes and make yourself a man that your son would be proud of, that I would be proud of.' This one single line changed the entire course of my life. I became a man on a mission, mission to make his idol proud! I started studying, I started helping people, I started trying to save my dad's fallen empire, I did all in my power! Seeing me become sensible and seeing me actually growing up, my dad started recovering. The more sensible and practical I became the better dad got. Untill one day he was completely recovered. To this day it has been the greatest success of my life, I know I didnt recover my dad, but in a silent word of passing I know my dad is proud of me, and that is the biggest success one can have. • 10. As a typical teenager, I have gone through countless amounts of experiences and challenges in my life. The decisions that I have made in the past has given me two separate outcomes, and these outcomes influenced me positively and negatively depending on the environment given. As I grow older I commence to cerebrate that my life is getting harder and more challenging due to the pressure emanating from parents and school. The challenges give me motivations to work even harder until I achieve my goals, and dreams in life. Every stage of life starting from toddler to teenager to adult and then to old carries the permutation of both happiness and sadness. While some people feel delighted of talking about teenage years, some cherish their adulthood, even old age. During my current time of magnification and individuality, I have experienced a rapid amount of changes in physical and noetic attributes, which has influenced my life, dreams, relationships, and overall ecstasy. As time flies we change, our knowledge, dreams, and experiences with certain things have a major role in what and who we are. A typical teenager will think that the "Teen Years" is the hardest point of their life where they have to give up or just simply accept defeat. But that's not the case for me, I have the courage to surmount fears, and that has influenced me positively towards my school achievements and responsibility, "In order to Succeed, your desire for success should be greater than you fear of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I never knew anyone who encountered that experience, so I enjoyed your post. I am sorry that you guys did not have family vacation outside of New York because a little exposure helps to enhance our understanding of people and life. I am sure you are now traveling all over the global now and making up for lost time. In my culture, we did not have tutors. We just help each other where ever one was falling short. I too was good in Math, so that's how I would help others. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Experience that Changed Me– Personal Narrative I went to camp for the first time last summer to get away from the pressures of home and school. Camp was a month long, I have never been away from my parents more than a week. I was very anxious. I had no idea what situations to expect and how I would handle them. I started to really wonder about my life. The way it was going was not the best for me. I can "run away" from my reality, but I know that I was going to have to come back to it in a month. The way I treat people was total opposite from how I treated my parents. What my friends were capable of doing was not a bit close to what my parents would let me do, my parents are very narrow minded. My grandparents were even more...show more content... You don't know what I can do!" said Jenna back to her. She ran to her friend's bunk, Jody didn't want to make it a big complication out of it so she didn't worry about it. She never got her bunk changed, but it didn't matter because she would always sleep over her friends' bunk. I wanted to relax this summer and was not going to let someone give me a hard time, so we never talked much. Two weeks were nearly over and our parents were going to come visit us in a day or two. I started to be nice to Jenna and she was nice to me, but I sensed that she didn't want to be friends. She had a problem with my friend Lauren. At this time we were all ready to kill each other. I remember an argument that Jenna had with Lauren, they were yelling at each other and it only got worse by the second. I came up to them and started to hear what they were saying, since I was on lauren's side, I yelled at Jenna "What is wrong with you!" "You can't yell at me like that, you don't know who I am!" said Jenna Then I said "I don't care who you are" "I can make your life miserable" she said. At this point I was thinking to myself that this girl has major problems thinking she can do and say whatever she wants. I started to feel sorry for her. "I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Experience That Changed My Life In High School I had to write a paragraph about an experience that changed my life, I decided to write about parents and the effect their decision had on me. Growing up, my parents argued mentally and physically. My parents getting a divorce were difficult to go through as a child, the arguing still goes on in my head sometimes. If you are thinking I am scarred no I am not it is just something that is not easy to forget. As a 10 year old I had mixed feelings and I didn't know what to do and I didn't know who to talk to about what was wrong. For some reason I felt it was my fault in a way because I never tried to make them reconsider. It was a very emotional roller coaster for me, especially since I didn't understand until I got older. I remember sometimes waking up in the middle of the night hearing my parents fussing and swearing. It was heart breaking hearing them talk to each other like that. I used to go hug my mom and asked what happened afterward, she always told me nothing and rocked me to sleep. I didn't think anything about it, but then again, I didn't know any better. When the fights got physical my sister and I would usually step in or they would stop themselves because we would be screaming. The day they decided to go get a divorce, it was early in the morning they were arguing. I got between my mom and dad, he pushed mom and I both down. They started hitting at each other and I was between them. After they stopped my mom called the police when they came my mom Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Life Experience Essay Life is full of exciting experiences for us to enjoy. However, these experiences are meant to teach life lessons that should remain with us. In my 17 years of living, I have had many lessons to be learned from events I have gone through. One of those lessons sticks out above the rest and it has a humorous story to go along with it. The story starts out with the group planning a get together while eating breakfast at Mcdonald's. Ideas were flowing out of our heads like a river. We could not agree on a plan of action for the longest time. Finally, it was decided that we should go to Kenzie's house after she said her dad would cook for us. I was immediately down for that idea because I knew her dad makes the best chicken wings ever. The rest of the day for me was spent thinking about what to wear that night. Eventually, the time came for heading over to Kenzie's house. Bailey, another girl in the group, asked me to give her a ride since she did not have her driver's license. Because of this, we were one of the last ones to make it to Kenzie's. In the time that we missed the group decided that they wanted to go and toilet paper some of our friend's houses that lived close to Kenzie. I had never done something like this before. However, the excitement of doing this and avoid being caught appealed to me. We all piled into the cars and headed to Wal–Mart to buy the toilet paper. We had an interesting event that happened to us while we were in Wal–Mart. The event was when Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Life Changing Experiences Of Change In My Life There are hundreds of experiences that have had some sort of impact on my life. Some are very small and some are much more life altering. Although, these life changing events do not happen often, they happen to everyone. I have had a few major, life changing occurrences in my lifetime, some are good and some are not so good. One of them that stands out the most to me and has impacted me the greatest is something everyone experiences at some point in their lives. For me, it was on October 20th, 2015, when I was 13 years old, the day my first dog Lucky died. Lucky was a little Jack Russell Terrier that my mom and dad had bought when he was only a few months old. They had adopted him in Belgium, about a year before I was born. Lucky had been...show more content... I texted my mom during lunch asking how it went. She said that she would tell me later. That was the first warning sign, but I just brushed it off. When my mom picked me, I immediately asked was how Lucky was. My mom was acting much different than usual, she was very quiet. She told me that the vet said Lucky had kidney disease and all they could do is give him pain medicine and try to keep him alive until that weekend when my dad got home on Friday. My first reaction was denial. All I could think was, surely a dog that I had loved so much all my life could not die. I refused to believe the truth, I spent the entire evening looking up kidney disease, trying to find a solution that did not exist. I refused to eat or leave Lucky's side. I knew his health had been declining, but I kept telling myself Lucky will get better. The issue was, I was only denying the inevitable. The next day was the hardest of my life. At school, I could not focus, all I could do was think about Lucky. That night, I had to cheer at a game about an hour away. At first I was not sure if I wanted to go, but my friends convinced me it would be good to get mymind of Lucky for a little bit. Around the middle of the first quarter I saw my little brother show up with one of his friends. I immediately knew something was very wrong, why would my brother come to an away game, especially so far away without my mom, I knew my mom did not have anything going on that night. • 16. Have you ever had an experience that changed your life? For better or worse? Well I have and little did I know at the time that it was going to change my life forever. One day, I was outside playing with my friends celebrating my birthday when my parents called me inside. They never did this so I felt that I was in trouble. But that wasn't the case at all. They sat me down and said,"How do you feel about being big sister?" Best. Present. Ever. I was so excited to have a baby sister that I felt like I was going numb all over.I felt as bright as a highlighter. I just kept shaking my head saying "yes yes yes yes yes yes yes." I felt like it wasn't even happening because I never thought it would. I had been an only child all my life. What will it be like to have a baby in the house?? I was soon to find out. Addie ( my sister) was born and everything was amazing. My dad found a new job as a special needs teacher at a school called Highland Park. I had no idea what that was because it was a very small school and I went to a very big school. Prairie View. So, once again, my parents sat me down and said,"How would you like to go to school where dad works?" This made me very nervous. I had plenty of friends at the school I went to now and I was very happy. But with a little convincing, I said yes. And I am so glad I did. On my first day of school walking in felt like the walks were going to eat me up or crush me, but that quickly changed. This new school was small, but it seemed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. My Experience That Changed My Life I have had many events in my life that have made a difference, however one event that has changed my life forever was that day that I met my wife. If I hadn 't had met her there would be many things that wouldn 't have happened. First off I probably wouldn't be married today as I wasn 't actively looking for a girlfriend at the time, I wouldn't have daughter and I wouldn't be the person that I am today. With out a doubt meeting my wife while I was working and having the guts to ask her out on our first date was an event that made a difference in my life. To start things off I was working at my part time job at a local gun store. My best friend told me that he had a girl coming over to meet me that he thought I might like. I was a little hesitant at first because it had been a while since I had been on date. He keep telling me that everything would be ok and not to worry about it. It was on a Friday, December 09, 2011 that this girl was supposed to come to the shop to meet me, I was nervous the whole day. The day was coming to an end, we were only going to be open for about another 45 minutes, when I saw the door open. I was able to tell that a woman was coming in and when she came around the corner I was fairly certain that this was girl he was talking. As she walked in, wearing black pants and a black Subway shirt, I asked her if there was anything we could help her with and she walked up to me and my friend. My friend then introduced the two of us to each Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Experience That Changed My Life In my lifetime there have been many breathtaking and wonderful experience's I have had the pleasure in being a part of, only one experience comes to mind when I think about a personal experience that's dear to me. The experience that is most dear to me would one that changed my view on life and the path I was pathed for myself along the way. To begin with, when I was seventeen years old and still in school life was hard and very stressful, I know many people would say that life was easy with no bills to pay and a roof over my head, but my living environment wasn't the issue. The main issue I had when I was still in school was the pressure I had resting on my shoulders, my family always had high hopes, and expectations for me, and I always felt so overwhelmed when it came to school and the grades we were given each quarter on our report cards. I didn't want to disappoint my family and ruin their view towards me as a still in progress student at Haines City High School, when it came down to it I failed and I felt so horrible knowing I would have to repeat the year because I was either slacking on homework or being poorly graded on classroom assignments. As soon as I started seeing the world in black and white and losing hope for graduation I got called to the schools main office for a parent teacher conference. At that moment I was frightened, not because of my grades or my work ethics, but because that conference had the potential to change my families Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. My Experience That Has Changed My Life As a teenager, I was in a motorcycle accident that significantly affected my life. My life was drastically changed by it both temporarily and permanently. The experience taught me many things but is also one of the most prominent memories that I have as a young adult. It was a beautiful, sunny summer day, I was riding the four–wheeler with my boyfriend, Chris. After returning to his house, a friend of ours called wanting us to come over for dinner. We took off on the motorcycle to their house, driving down Highway 53 towards Dawsonville. The sun was on our backs as we drove through the curvy roads, miles of forest on either side of the road. Being on a motorcycle was one of my favorite ways to travel, it was freeing and exhilarating. Chris and I arrived there about four o'clock in the afternoon, and joined them in the backyard. They had burgers cooking on the grill, we all talked, laughed and enjoyed ourselves. It was a warm day, great for horseshoes, girls against guys we played for hours taking turns winning, mostly the girls. As the sun began to go down, we started to clean up and headed inside to watch a movie. When it ended it was a little after nine at night and it had started to get dark. Knowing the roads home were curvy, we thought it best to leave. We climbed back on the motorcycle and headed back to Chris' house. It was a beautiful, clear, starry night; the forests looked magnificent under the moonlight, like something out of a fairytale. As we neared Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Timmy Hill: An Experience That Changed My Life When I was given the assignment to write an essay on an experience that changed my life, one thing instantly came to mind; In June of last year I lost my nephew, Timmy Hill. Experiencing this loss has greatly changed my life in many ways. Of course, a loss like this comes with many negative changes, but in some ways it has given me a new drive. I have learned to experience new things, I have been inspired to live a more active life, and I have a new will to accomplish things he would have been proud to see me accomplish. Since his death many people have come to the family with stories of how he helped them without being asked, or without wanting anything in return. Inspired by the many stories, we formed a group called Timmy's Angels. Last Christmas I helped prepare meals and hand them out to the needy, such as the homeless or the elderly who were alone for the holidays. Talking to people, hearing their stories, and being able to help them in some way was a very rewarding experience. Were it not for this loss, I probably would not have gotten involved in a charity project such as this. To feel closer to him, his family and friends started to gather together to do activities he enjoyed. As part of this I got to experience many things I would likely have never done before, such as going 'mudding'. Which, from what I gathered, is basically running through the mud in various types of vehicles pretending you are in the car chase of a movie. I was also convinced to fire a shotgun for the first time. I cannot help but feel if he were there he would have been slightly disappointed I was not knocked over from the kick, as that would have been his type of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
