5. Data Preparation

– Audit
– Audit Boundary
– Update
– Site Prep
– District
– Property
• I published each to the JDI Map Centre
6.
7. Planting 2014 Web Map
• A web map is required to create an operation
view
• Created a web map including each service
• Configured pop-ups
9. Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS
• “Bring together a common view of the systems and
resources you manage. Monitor real-time data feeds
for large-scale events or day-to-day operations on your
desktop or tablet device. Create focused executive
dashboards that integrate maps, charts, and graphs.”
• Features
– Use maps that have dynamic data sources to provide real-
time views
– Configure gauges, histograms and charts for a statistical
context
– Create and share operation views that cater to a specific
need
http://doc.arcgis.com/en/operations-dashboard/
10. Planting Dashboard Widgets
• Planting by area
– Total area planted
– Total area planted by land base
– Total area planted by primary species
– Total area planted by district
• Trees planted
– Total number of trees planted
– Number of trees planted by land base
11. Initial attempt
• Summary Group By Widget
– Displays the features into a set of summary rows
by the value of one column
– Custom add-in created by Esri Netherlands
16. Solution to Summary Group By
Widget Problem
• Publish summary statistics tables with a service
• Copy the table’s service URL from the ArcGIS
REST Services Directory
• Under the Widgets tab in Dashboard, select
External Data Sources
• Paste the URL in the “Add Service Data Source”
window
20. ArcMap Field Calculations
• Since field calculations cannot be performed
in any of the widgets, new fields were added
to feature classes and calculated in ArcMap
• Planting Update
– NUM_TREES = PLDEN * Hectares
– District – Spatial join with District
21. Second Attempt
• Once the tables were added to the dashboard
as a data source and the services published
again with the new fields, I was able to get the
desired behaviour from the widgets
22. Update Model and Script
• Began the model that will perform the
processes described
• This will update the services used by the web
map
