WHAT IS QUESTIONNAIRE IN
MARKET RESEARCH ?
A questionnaire is a set of questions given to specific group of
people and target them to know their views on specific
topics.
In specific to market research it helps to identify the needs of
the people with relevance to the current market trends.
TYPES OF QUESTIONNAIRES
There are mainly 2 types of questionnaire -open and
closed
OPEN QUESTION:
Here they allow the participants to answer the questions on their own
and let them answer through their personal experiences.
Open questions are used to get more specific details and personal
opinion which tends to make it more time consuming .
FOR EXAMPLE: WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO MOVE THERE?
CLOSED QUESTION:
Here the participants are only required to answer in short phrases
and do not require to elaborate it.
Closed questions can be answered from multiple choice question or
however the participant chooses to answer,making it quick and
simple;not allowing for a detailed insight.

WHY IS QUESTIONNAIRE
IMPORTANT IN MARKET RESEARCH?
Questionnaires are used in market research because they provide a
fast,efficient and inexpensive method of gathering large information
from sizable variables .
It is also a primary source of research tool used to gather data from a
large targeted audience
They help receive both subjective and objective data from a large
sample specially when the resources are limited,providing the
protection and privacy of the participants.
