29. Chieko was born in Tokyo, Japan and spent her early life in the U.S.A and Brazil, which planted seeds of love for nature and multicultural environments in her. Her love for the ocean and its creatures eventually drove her to Australia where she spent 6 years studying biology, ecology, environmental management, and social ecology of bottlenose dolphins . Though her passion for the ocean never died, her interest has slightly shifted and significantly expanded. After acquiring her M.Sc. in Tropical Environmental Studies and Geography with specialty in Marine Wildlife Management, she worked as a research coordinator, a translator, and a nature interpreter taking kids and families out to the sea. She also cruised around the world visiting more than 10 regions in 90 days including Antarctica, working as a communication coordinator for the âPeace Boatâ, a NGO dedicated to education for peace and sustainability. She has spent the last couple of years in Mexico working as an environmental educator. She definitely feels passionate about creating a sustainable world for all life forms sharing the one planet
