My Hispanic Heritage
At this point in time reflecting on my past experiences I think the first thing I would do differently with my life is believe in myself and not doubt
my decisions or my looks. Growing up I have always been made to feel ashamed of my dark skin, my bigger body and my hispanic heritage because
it was different from what society had taught me and my family. If I knew no one would judge me I would embrace the darker pigmentation of my
skin, accept my body for how it is and wear my heritage with pride. During the summer might go out swim Instead of staying inside and worrying
about getting a little bit darker; I would stop wearing long sleeve shirts on the hottest day to avoid having people see the darkness of my skin. I would
wear red lipstick

Personal Narrative: My Hispanic Heritage
Much to my own embarrassment, my Hispanic heritage had been a thing I hardly thought of. My Father left my family when I was young, and with
him went the hopeful wisps I had of learning about myself. It's not to say that I wasn't aware that I was Hispanic, but rather, growing up in a mainly
white household I didn't think I had any right to claim my ethnicity. However, the more I look around me and learn about the community Hispanics
have grown accustomed to, the more I find that I understand where I came from. To me, being Hispanic isn't about what you were told when you were
younger, or the traditions you grew up with. Rather, being Hispanic is about learning where you come from, and learning about those who share your
same heritage. 'Hispanic'

Hispanic heritage is an important concept that surrounds my entire life. I have lived in Puerto Rico during my whole childhood. This culture has been
important in my life because it helps define who I am and how I view the world. Both of my biological parents are Dominican, but I lived with my
mother and step–dad in Puerto Rico. It was not until I moved to the United States that I began to become more aware of different ethnic groups. The
United States has been called the "melting pot" society. Newcomers to this country were expected to adapt their "old world" values and culture to
fit the values and lifestyles of the "new world" (An Overview of Diversity Awareness, n.d.). My family identifies themselves as Dominicans. I have
to make clear that when I refer to my family it consists of my mother, brother, and sister. Living in Puerto Rico for more than a decade made us
adopt the Puerto Rican culture. Even though we knew our origin was from Dominican Republic we never lived there so it was easy to make Puerto
Rico our homeland. My mother and I also tend to identify ourselves as having African roots because her father and I were born in St. Kitts, an island
that is inhabited by slave decedents. When living in Puerto Rico we were the same as everyone else. We never felt any oppression. We understood
that there were people of different shades of skin color but it wasn't an identifier for us. I believe the only thing that made us different was that our
mother was Dominican and

Hispanic heritage is an important concept that surrounds my entire life. I have lived in Colombia until I turned fourteen years old. Colombia is a
beautiful country in South America and consist of mostly Hispanic individuals. This culture has been important in my life because it helps define
who I am and how I view the world. It was not until I moved to the United States that I began to become more aware of different ethnic groups. I
grew up in a city where everyone was the same, looked the same and had the same cultural behaviors in our country. An important part of the

I understood that is good to be different and that I can not forget where I come from, I do not look the same as everyone else and my culture has
taught me many important traits that are not always shared by Americans. Hispanic heritage means embracing the past and the present and honoring
where we come from. It is my job to make sure that my Colombian culture is not lost or forgotten by me or my family. I have inherited the
willingness to work hard and dedicate myself to helping others; these are important Hispanic characteristics that have been instilled from my parents
and grandparents. This is why I greatly wish to become a Therapist. I feel a strong sense of responsibility to help others and to use my Hispanic
heritage and Spanish–speaking fluency to honor the culture I come from. It helps define who we are and what we believe in, and although I will be

Latino-American Heritage
The National Park Service and National Historic Landmark programs have listened to the call to action and in the last 10–years have focused efforts on
highlighting the contributions of Latino Americans. In May 2011, the National Park Service launched the American Latino Heritage Initiative. Its goal
was to develop and implement, and advance the representation with in the National Historic Landmarks Program. In the program's first year,
2011–2012, 20% of new National Historic Landmarks were associated with Latino–American heritage (Progress Report 1). Another way that
Latino–American heritage was included at National Historic Site, Landmarks, and National parks was to interpret sites including people and events
associated with the heritage...show more content...
According to Kaufman, the author of the Park Service's Cultural Needs Assessment Report, one of the quickest ways and most economical way of
creating new historic places that acknowledge Latino– American historic places is to acknowledge the groups' role at existing historic places (Kaufman
40). Some proposed examples are to recognize "leaders and intellectual of Latin American independence movements who came to Philadelphia during
the early nineteenth century, inspired by city's contribution to the cause of liberty" and at Faneuil Hall in Boston "hosted important demonstrations
against the Spanish–American war" (Kaufman 40). Independence National Historic Park still does not regularly include the Latin American
independence movement in their interpretation. However, these stories are slowly making their way to the surface. In contrast to the interpretation in
Independence Hall, Independence National Historic Park chose to include how the Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom for many groups in the United
States from African–Americans seeking to abolish slavery to Suffragettes seeking universal voting rights to international groups in the Liberty Bell
pavilions

Hispanic Heritage Month Analysis
This article is interesting because it shows the many conflicting view points regarding Hispanic Heritage month. It also tells a story about racial
identity. For example, "Cesar Lopez identifies himself as Honduran", but Abraham Espina identifies her as Mexican. No matter what they identify as,
they are always put into categories such as Hispanic or Latino. This proves a a dilemma for young Spanish speaking people who are trying to identify
themselves and celebrate their heritage. Would it be possible to possible to be more precise with the recognition of Spanish and Latin American
heritage? This article makes me wonder about who has the right to put people into groups; is it the government or the people

My Family: Growing Up In A Hispanic Household
Growing up in a Hispanic household has taught me many things. I have learned to see things as an optimistic person, and that it doesn't matter where
you come from as long as you work hard for what you want anything is possible. My family has always implemented the values of life that lead me to
perceive what it was about to throw at me. Moreover, my family has always been very accepting on what I do. In spite of the fact that I feel like my
mom has supported and understood me the most, my whole family has always been there. They always make sure that I have complete coherence that
everything I do has a consequence. A balance of both sides is always maintained in my house hold in order to make proper decisions. What makes my
family unique is

For this Hispanic Heritage Month Paper I chose the Inventor Guillermo GonzГЎlez Camarena who invented the first color TV screen. The life of
Guillermo Gonzalez Camarena started in Guadalajara on February 17, 1917. When Guillermo was 2 years old he moved to Mexico City where as
a young boy he made electrically propelled toys and at 12 he constructed his first amatuer radio. When Guillermo was young he established a
laboratory in the basement of his house! In 1930 he was selected to go to the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineers and after two years was
given permit as a radio administrator. While he tested in his research facility, he worked at the radio station of the Ministry of Education. In 1934 he

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the Latino contribution, and also lets us recognize that America's cultural diversity, and the contributions of all its
citizens, have made our fabric strong throughout history. Latinos have prominently participated in building the West, in entertainment, business,
education, civil rights, politics, and in our great American pastime of baseball. There are also a large number of magazines, newspapers, radio stations
and other media outlets directed specifically towards the Latino market, confirming that this group provides a major influence on our culture. America's
cultural history would not be the same without the Cuban vibe in South Florida or the Puerto Rican, Dominican, Columbian and other cultural
influences

Hispanic Heritage Month Research Paper
National Hispanic Heritage Month is through September 15 to October 15 in the United States, it represents the Hispanic and Latino Americans
heritage and culture. September 15 was chosen for the starting point for the celebration of Hispanic Heritage month because that was the anniversary of
independence of five Latin American countries. The five Latin American countries where Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and
Nicaragua. But Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence day on September 16 and September 18. America is 60% hispanic compared to 45%
of Caucasians and 50% of African Americans, so the hispanic and latino population is growing more and more in America. Also besides english,

Famous latinas who influenced the hispanic culture and people are Gloria Estefan who has served as a role model for women across the globe, and
she is the Queen of Latin Pop icon with true love to her community which had been hated on. Next up we have Celia Cruz who had a strong
powerful voice that taught us that 'life is a carnival' and she was a strong voice for freedom in Cuba. Another latina that has changed the world is
Shakira she is one of the generous pop stars that is known to give back to her community and she has also committed to making a global impact to the
less fortunate. Those are just some of the few famous latin singers that are influential on the people in America and Latin

Importance Of Being Hispanic
Being an hispanic brings a lot of pride to me. I am more than a statistic. Bing hispanic means that I am only suppsoed to graduate from high school
enroll in a college only attend for a year but then drop out. But I am here to change that. Such as many other latinos, my parents matter to me a lot. I

My parents have worked from sunrise to sunset for 22 years now. I have been throught most of it with them. I am aware that I am, where I am
because of my parents hard work and dedication to make their dream a reality for my siblings and I to receve a higher eductaion. My parents have

Reflection Paper On Hispanic Ethnicity
Ever since I was born I have always been part of the Hispanic ethnicity due to the fact that I am of Mexican heritage. I have been part of everything
ranging from a quinceaГ±era to a carnival in Mexico full of a lively Hispanic culture. It has taught me the importance of family as well as caring for
strangers. Being born into this group has made me stand by certain beliefs throughout my life. As well as shaped me into becoming a better man in the
eyes of god. Being Hispanic not only has taught me the take pride in my heritage but it has also showed me that I want to become a person that brings
change as well as become a person not afraid to show what my Hispanic culture has to offer to my diverse community.
Since I have been a part of the Hispanic ethnicity since childhood I have had the opportunity to celebrate both American and Hispanic culture due to
my Hispanic descendance and living in the united states. This "Dual inclusion" into both cultures has greatly shaped the way I am as a person
because while most only see one side of the ethnicity picture I've had the incredible opportunity to experience two sides firsthand. But, even though
it is great, it also comes with challenges of choosing one over the other. For example, during Halloween a few years back my friends and I were
planning a Halloween party and that was the same night, my aunt was having her quinceaГ±era and I had to end up canceling with my friends because
of this event. This is just one of many instances that has made me truly cherish the family moments that I have with my family members. Because
those moments aren't as often as seeing my friends. The Hispanic ethnicity in which I have grown up and the beliefs I stand by all have lead me to
realize the importance of keeping my family close. As well as having the courage to tell my friends "No" every occasionally.
The idea that Hispanics are a minority in the United States still to this day is something that most Hispanics live by, by not acting up if something is
wrong or unjust against them afraid of being in trouble for bringing change. This is an idea that I have come to strongly disagree with even my own
parents about, because if I see something wrong I do something about it. But, my

About Traditional Hispanic Food
Hispanic American: "Heritage" is defined as the customs and traditions that are handed down from generation to generation of families and society. A
person with Latino heritage is a descendant of a family from Mexico, Central America, or South America. Peeps who are Hispanic are from a country
where Spanish is spoken. Let's check out some of their traditions. Hispanic Food Hispanic foods have many different characteristics, but one of the
main things that make it distinctive is that it tends to be spicy! Here are some traditional Hispanic dishes: * Moles: Pronounced Mo–lay, the name of
this dish comes from the Aztec word for "mixture." Mole Poblano de Guajolote, is a mixture of dried chiles, nuts, seeds, vegetables, spices and...show

Some of the most popular Hispanic dishes that are prepared during Cinco de Mayo are carnitas, barbocoa, moles and menudo. Identification
Traditional Hispanic food can be identified by the appearance of the tortillas and the thick, rich enchilada sauces that can be green, brown or red
and resemble a thick gravy. Rice and refried beans typically are served inside of the tortillas or on the side, and this dish can be referred to as an
enchilada or as a chimichanga if it is deep fried on the outside. Melted cheese over the top of the dish is also a good indication of Hispanic food.
Function The function of Hispanic food is to fulfill the traditional ways of growing, eating and serving Hispanic food. Hispanic food is high in
carbohydrates, making it a filling meal because of the beans and cheese that are served along with it. The combination of the beans and cheese with
the spicy seasonings and salsa give the food added flavor and traditional Hispanic flair. Hispanic food can be made into meals for large groups of
people and large families quickly, cheaply and easily. Most Hispanic food keeps for a long time and does not spoil if stored in a cool, dry location.

Hispanic Cultural Heritage
Hispanic Heritage is an important concept that surrounds my entire life. Mexico is a wonderful and beautiful country. This culture has been
important in my life because it helps me define who I am and how I view the world in many ways. At the age of 16 my parents crossed over the
border to the U.S in order to give a better life to me and my siblings. They came at different times my mom came with my grandma then later on that
year my dad came with his parents. My parents didn't know any english to start off just spanish but time passed and my parents learned and
understood english. They came over with nothing, my dad would have sleepless nights worrying about what their next meal will be. Till this day both

A way I participate in cultural tradition is by being a folkloric dancer. I've been dancing since I was 5. When I first started dancing I was in a group
called Yumare , then when I turned 8 my mom switched me over to the recent group I am inn called Norahua. My group helps out a lot around the
community by dancing in shows , parties , events or for the capital. Last year in June I turned 15 , being hispanic that is a big part of life. Turning
15 you're becoming a woman and you start going through a lot of phrases after. In July 15, 2017 I had a big party and being Hispanic we call it a
Quince. My mom and I started planning my quince the minute I turned 14 because it's a long process into getting everything. I love helping my
mom and grandma make food , especially on holidays or parties. Ever since I was little I would enjoy watching them make tamales, posole, gorditas
and more for christmas or on a daily and every time we make food we have to have music playing , we enjoy listening to spanish music like cumbias
and huapangos or a mixture of

Latino Heritage Month
This past Wednesday, October 12th, I had the opportunity to visit a photo exhibit that was being displayed at Plaza de la Raza. The photo exhibit was
dedicated to those actors and actresses that have put the Latino talent in Hollywood. The photo exhibit is part of the Hispanic Month, and from
September 1st to October 15th we have forty–five glorious days to celebrate it. In Los Angeles, the Hispanic Month is also being addressed as Latino
Heritage Month LA. This is a month where the people from Los Angeles get together to celebrate their traditions and culture with other Angelenos
along with the people around the world who come to LA during this time as well. My visit to the photo exhibit was a little bit disappointing, not the

As stated in Pew Research Center, National Heritage Month started in 1968 by congress as a Hispanic Heritage week, it was expanded to a month in
1988. (Krogstad) Twenty–eight years later we still have this cultural practice that in a sense is an interpretation of the original cultures we had back
at home. It is not called Mexican Heritage Month or Salvadorian Heritage Month. It is called Hispanic because they put all the Latin American
traditions, culture, and countries together and said this is their month, and they must share it. Although it seems unfair for some people because
they do not like being entered in the whole category as a Hispanic or Latino, we need to look at the positive side. Since this is how we learn from other
people and how we get to know different smells and flavors. We are being recognized and celebrated by other people as well here in the United States.
Yes, we left back home so many things, but we brought with us one thing more important than anything; our identity which is the one blending in with
other cultures and creating a new

My Mexican Heritage
I really did not think there was anything extraordinary about my culture and heritage because I have lived in a Crystal City, Texas my whole life.
Being Mexican American was really the usually thing so I did not consider anything special of it, but my history has shown me otherwise. Living in
a small town has shown me that I can leave a legacy, keep the heritage of my family alive, and still strive to have an education. Even though I live in
a small town, it still holds a lot of history. The walkout in Crystal City, Texas was a major event that made Mexican Americans remembered. In
Cynthia Orozco's article she says the Crystal City High School walkout happened because Chicano's were not being giving equal rights. (Orozco)

My grandfather Frailan Sendejo's father Gregorio Sendeja would take him to work in the fields every summer. So, just like his father, my
grandfather got married and had my father Enrique Sendejo and worked in the fields every summer just like they did with him. My father said to
me "My dad and I went to multiple states like North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin." (Sendejo) It was tough for my father
because he never got to go to a full year of school, he had to leave during the school year and then come back late in the next school year. My father
told me "Some summers were harder than others because I would go on a bus to another state and work without my parents to pick cucumbers."
(Sendejo) He also said "I had to walk on my knees all across the fields and back to help support my family, and I would only get paid $40 for the
day." (Sendejo) When he went back to Crystal one year he went to school and met my mother Gina Sendejo. My father was going to have to leave
to the fields again, so my mother decided to go with him. Though, after a few years they decided to stop migrating up North to focus on their careers
and family. I never realized how difficult it was for my father to get to be the person he is today, but I'm glad that he and my mother brought me to
where I am today, so I can continue to share their

My Hispanic Heritage

  • 1. My Hispanic Heritage At this point in time reflecting on my past experiences I think the first thing I would do differently with my life is believe in myself and not doubt my decisions or my looks. Growing up I have always been made to feel ashamed of my dark skin, my bigger body and my hispanic heritage because it was different from what society had taught me and my family. If I knew no one would judge me I would embrace the darker pigmentation of my skin, accept my body for how it is and wear my heritage with pride. During the summer might go out swim Instead of staying inside and worrying about getting a little bit darker; I would stop wearing long sleeve shirts on the hottest day to avoid having people see the darkness of my skin. I would wear red lipstick Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Narrative: My Hispanic Heritage Much to my own embarrassment, my Hispanic heritage had been a thing I hardly thought of. My Father left my family when I was young, and with him went the hopeful wisps I had of learning about myself. It's not to say that I wasn't aware that I was Hispanic, but rather, growing up in a mainly white household I didn't think I had any right to claim my ethnicity. However, the more I look around me and learn about the community Hispanics have grown accustomed to, the more I find that I understand where I came from. To me, being Hispanic isn't about what you were told when you were younger, or the traditions you grew up with. Rather, being Hispanic is about learning where you come from, and learning about those who share your same heritage. 'Hispanic' Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Hispanic heritage is an important concept that surrounds my entire life. I have lived in Puerto Rico during my whole childhood. This culture has been important in my life because it helps define who I am and how I view the world. Both of my biological parents are Dominican, but I lived with my mother and step–dad in Puerto Rico. It was not until I moved to the United States that I began to become more aware of different ethnic groups. The United States has been called the "melting pot" society. Newcomers to this country were expected to adapt their "old world" values and culture to fit the values and lifestyles of the "new world" (An Overview of Diversity Awareness, n.d.). My family identifies themselves as Dominicans. I have to make clear that when I refer to my family it consists of my mother, brother, and sister. Living in Puerto Rico for more than a decade made us adopt the Puerto Rican culture. Even though we knew our origin was from Dominican Republic we never lived there so it was easy to make Puerto Rico our homeland. My mother and I also tend to identify ourselves as having African roots because her father and I were born in St. Kitts, an island that is inhabited by slave decedents. When living in Puerto Rico we were the same as everyone else. We never felt any oppression. We understood that there were people of different shades of skin color but it wasn't an identifier for us. I believe the only thing that made us different was that our mother was Dominican and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Hispanic heritage is an important concept that surrounds my entire life. I have lived in Colombia until I turned fourteen years old. Colombia is a beautiful country in South America and consist of mostly Hispanic individuals. This culture has been important in my life because it helps define who I am and how I view the world. It was not until I moved to the United States that I began to become more aware of different ethnic groups. I grew up in a city where everyone was the same, looked the same and had the same cultural behaviors in our country. An important part of the Hispanic heritage, especially in colombia, is out fresh and delicious food; we have so many different fruits because we are a tropical country located in the equator, also...show more content... I understood that is good to be different and that I can not forget where I come from, I do not look the same as everyone else and my culture has taught me many important traits that are not always shared by Americans. Hispanic heritage means embracing the past and the present and honoring where we come from. It is my job to make sure that my Colombian culture is not lost or forgotten by me or my family. I have inherited the willingness to work hard and dedicate myself to helping others; these are important Hispanic characteristics that have been instilled from my parents and grandparents. This is why I greatly wish to become a Therapist. I feel a strong sense of responsibility to help others and to use my Hispanic heritage and Spanish–speaking fluency to honor the culture I come from. It helps define who we are and what we believe in, and although I will be attend college in the US, I will not forget where I come from or what I stand for as I work towards achieving my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Latino-American Heritage The National Park Service and National Historic Landmark programs have listened to the call to action and in the last 10–years have focused efforts on highlighting the contributions of Latino Americans. In May 2011, the National Park Service launched the American Latino Heritage Initiative. Its goal was to develop and implement, and advance the representation with in the National Historic Landmarks Program. In the program's first year, 2011–2012, 20% of new National Historic Landmarks were associated with Latino–American heritage (Progress Report 1). Another way that Latino–American heritage was included at National Historic Site, Landmarks, and National parks was to interpret sites including people and events associated with the heritage...show more content... According to Kaufman, the author of the Park Service's Cultural Needs Assessment Report, one of the quickest ways and most economical way of creating new historic places that acknowledge Latino– American historic places is to acknowledge the groups' role at existing historic places (Kaufman 40). Some proposed examples are to recognize "leaders and intellectual of Latin American independence movements who came to Philadelphia during the early nineteenth century, inspired by city's contribution to the cause of liberty" and at Faneuil Hall in Boston "hosted important demonstrations against the Spanish–American war" (Kaufman 40). Independence National Historic Park still does not regularly include the Latin American independence movement in their interpretation. However, these stories are slowly making their way to the surface. In contrast to the interpretation in Independence Hall, Independence National Historic Park chose to include how the Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom for many groups in the United States from African–Americans seeking to abolish slavery to Suffragettes seeking universal voting rights to international groups in the Liberty Bell pavilions Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Hispanic Heritage Month Analysis This article is interesting because it shows the many conflicting view points regarding Hispanic Heritage month. It also tells a story about racial identity. For example, "Cesar Lopez identifies himself as Honduran", but Abraham Espina identifies her as Mexican. No matter what they identify as, they are always put into categories such as Hispanic or Latino. This proves a a dilemma for young Spanish speaking people who are trying to identify themselves and celebrate their heritage. Would it be possible to possible to be more precise with the recognition of Spanish and Latin American heritage? This article makes me wonder about who has the right to put people into groups; is it the government or the people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Family: Growing Up In A Hispanic Household Growing up in a Hispanic household has taught me many things. I have learned to see things as an optimistic person, and that it doesn't matter where you come from as long as you work hard for what you want anything is possible. My family has always implemented the values of life that lead me to perceive what it was about to throw at me. Moreover, my family has always been very accepting on what I do. In spite of the fact that I feel like my mom has supported and understood me the most, my whole family has always been there. They always make sure that I have complete coherence that everything I do has a consequence. A balance of both sides is always maintained in my house hold in order to make proper decisions. • 9. Hispanic Heritage Month Research Paper Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the Latino contribution, and also lets us recognize that America's cultural diversity, and the contributions of all its citizens, have made our fabric strong throughout history. Latinos have prominently participated in building the West, in entertainment, business, education, civil rights, politics, and in our great American pastime of baseball. There are also a large number of magazines, newspapers, radio stations and other media outlets directed specifically towards the Latino market, confirming that this group provides a major influence on our culture. America's cultural history would not be the same without the Cuban vibe in South Florida or the Puerto Rican, Dominican, Columbian and other cultural influences Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Hispanic Heritage Month Research Paper National Hispanic Heritage Month is through September 15 to October 15 in the United States, it represents the Hispanic and Latino Americans heritage and culture. September 15 was chosen for the starting point for the celebration of Hispanic Heritage month because that was the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries. The five Latin American countries where Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. But Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence day on September 16 and September 18. • 15. Reflection Paper On Hispanic Ethnicity Ever since I was born I have always been part of the Hispanic ethnicity due to the fact that I am of Mexican heritage. I have been part of everything ranging from a quinceaГ±era to a carnival in Mexico full of a lively Hispanic culture. It has taught me the importance of family as well as caring for strangers. Being born into this group has made me stand by certain beliefs throughout my life. As well as shaped me into becoming a better man in the eyes of god. Being Hispanic not only has taught me the take pride in my heritage but it has also showed me that I want to become a person that brings change as well as become a person not afraid to show what my Hispanic culture has to offer to my diverse community. Since I have been a part of the Hispanic ethnicity since childhood I have had the opportunity to celebrate both American and Hispanic culture due to my Hispanic descendance and living in the united states. This "Dual inclusion" into both cultures has greatly shaped the way I am as a person because while most only see one side of the ethnicity picture I've had the incredible opportunity to experience two sides firsthand. But, even though it is great, it also comes with challenges of choosing one over the other. For example, during Halloween a few years back my friends and I were planning a Halloween party and that was the same night, my aunt was having her quinceaГ±era and I had to end up canceling with my friends because of this event. This is just one of many instances that has made me truly cherish the family moments that I have with my family members. Because those moments aren't as often as seeing my friends. The Hispanic ethnicity in which I have grown up and the beliefs I stand by all have lead me to realize the importance of keeping my family close. As well as having the courage to tell my friends "No" every occasionally. The idea that Hispanics are a minority in the United States still to this day is something that most Hispanics live by, by not acting up if something is wrong or unjust against them afraid of being in trouble for bringing change. This is an idea that I have come to strongly disagree with even my own parents about, because if I see something wrong I do something about it. But, my Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Rice and refried beans typically are served inside of the tortillas or on the side, and this dish can be referred to as an enchilada or as a chimichanga if it is deep fried on the outside. Melted cheese over the top of the dish is also a good indication of Hispanic food. Function The function of Hispanic food is to fulfill the traditional ways of growing, eating and serving Hispanic food. Hispanic food is high in carbohydrates, making it a filling meal because of the beans and cheese that are served along with it. The combination of the beans and cheese with the spicy seasonings and salsa give the food added flavor and traditional Hispanic flair. Hispanic food can be made into meals for large groups of people and large families quickly, cheaply and easily. • 17. Hispanic Cultural Heritage Hispanic Heritage is an important concept that surrounds my entire life. Mexico is a wonderful and beautiful country. This culture has been important in my life because it helps me define who I am and how I view the world in many ways. At the age of 16 my parents crossed over the border to the U.S in order to give a better life to me and my siblings. Turning 15 you're becoming a woman and you start going through a lot of phrases after. In July 15, 2017 I had a big party and being Hispanic we call it a Quince. My mom and I started planning my quince the minute I turned 14 because it's a long process into getting everything. I love helping my mom and grandma make food , especially on holidays or parties. The photo exhibit was dedicated to those actors and actresses that have put the Latino talent in Hollywood. The photo exhibit is part of the Hispanic Month, and from September 1st to October 15th we have forty–five glorious days to celebrate it. In Los Angeles, the Hispanic Month is also being addressed as Latino Heritage Month LA. It is not called Mexican Heritage Month or Salvadorian Heritage Month. It is called Hispanic because they put all the Latin American traditions, culture, and countries together and said this is their month, and they must share it. Although it seems unfair for some people because they do not like being entered in the whole category as a Hispanic or Latino, we need to look at the positive side. Since this is how we learn from other people and how we get to know different smells and flavors. We are being recognized and celebrated by other people as well here in the United States. Being Mexican American was really the usually thing so I did not consider anything special of it, but my history has shown me otherwise. Living in a small town has shown me that I can leave a legacy, keep the heritage of my family alive, and still strive to have an education. Even though I live in a small town, it still holds a lot of history. The walkout in Crystal City, Texas was a major event that made Mexican Americans remembered.
