Semester Grade Average Persuasive Essay
I am writing to you in hopes that I may persuade you to add ten extra points to my semester grade average. I strongly believe that my current
semester grade should be increased by ten points, as I have worked extremely arduously to surpass where I am as shown from my progress on Parent
Portal.
I realize that I haven't always done my work like I've been doing recently, but I believe everyone deserves a second chance to bounce back from an
atrocious situation. How would you know if a student is dealing with personal issues at home and can't concentrate in school ? or what if a student
cannot comprehend the subject being taught in class ? I have no doubts that a pupil who gives effort to change their grade should be granted their wish.

Persuasive Essay On Social Work
The social work profession and my life experiences have taught me that we all at one point of our lives have been in the position of asking for
help. For some people asking for help may be an effortless task, but for others, asking for help may involve challenging cultural and family values.
This paper will focus on a period in my life when asking for help signified a huge personal challenge, as I was taught growing up that I should keep
my personal problems to myself and not involve third parties. I moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic at age 16. I can
certainly state that this has been the most difficult time of my life thus far. Besides going through physical, social and cultural changes, I was also
facing the divorce of my parents. Although I had been an "A" student in the Dominican Republic, I was doing very poorly in high school as a
result of these combined struggles and the fact that I was still learning the language. After struggling for several months, I wrote a letter stating all
of my problems and that I did not want to be alive. A week after writing the letter, I decided to give it to my school counselor. I gave it to her
because I didn't want to aggravate or worry my mother and felt that she could do nothing to help me. I believed the counselor was in a position to
actually help me with my problems. At the point that I decided to give my counselor the letter, I was feeling very anxious, overwhelmed and
stressed, and I did not know what else to do. I felt hopeless about the whole situation; I had been forced to come to the United States, and when I
arrived, I was forced to confront the reality of my parents' divorce. I couldn't make decisions for myself because I was a minor, so the power was in
my parents' hands, and they weren't doing anything that seemed productive or helpful to me. In going to my counselor with the letter, I was looking
for someone who had the power to help me. In the exchange with the counselor, she had all the power in our relationship. I felt somewhat comfortable
approaching her because we were both Hispanics and immigrants. The most significant aspects of my positionality in this context, were my age and my
education. My counselor was educated and

Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made
schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and
their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they
unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the
reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads.
Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just
don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to
check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the
iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them.
Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my

Persuasive Essay Vacation
The average American receives ten days of paid vacation a year and millions of workers do not even use them all. Vacation provides a much–needed
escape from the daily grind and hustle n bustle of the work routine. The best kind of vacations include family and friends, lively experiences, new
countries, cultures, and the promise of relaxation. Relaxing on the beach in the Bahamas, ziplining in Sao Paulo, horse backing in the Andes
Mountains, or exploring the city of Vienna in Austria all provide a different experience in a new country and culture. Experiencing and exploring
with friends and family is even better; allowing for stronger relationships and creating enjoyable memories for years to come. One aspect of a fun
vacation is spending time with friends and family. No matter if in a new country or a new neighborhood, exploring new places and experiencing new
things together can strengthen friendships and bonds between family members. Having shared memories from a particular vacation can be a helpful
reminder of a happy time when a family relationship or friendship turns sour. While on my trip to Ecuador over the summer, I went with twelve over
classmates and also ten other high school students from around the country. Although the girls from school I traveled with were acquaintances at the
beginning of the trip, by the end of the eleven days living together in a foreign country, we became best friends and still are today. In addition, the
students I did not know before

Persuasive Essay About High School
Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain
the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different
activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest
of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words),
making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science,
Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of
classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach
all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three
teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year.
Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not have any
classes together, it is strictly grade by

Persuasive Essay About The Future
What are you going to be when you grow up? The go–to inquiry of almost every adult in a child's life. It is asked almost in a whimsical way in the
first few years; often met with innocently ambitious responses such as an astronaut or a deep sea diver. With most kids, myself included, the answer
changed several times throughout grade school. My starry eyed dreams of becoming an archeologist soon shifted to architect, and then to wilderness
firefighter, then soldier, policeman, engineer, and so on. I could be anything i could dream up in this world and i had forever to decide. However,
there comes a point in every teenager's life where the question of the future starts to scare you. This distant future is now becoming a very real thing
that needs to be figured out and planned, because it's almost time to make that next step. I've always heard it said that high school will be the quickest
four years of your life. I had no idea just how fast until it was time for me to start preparing for the real world. Over the past two years, i've really
done some "soul searching" so to speak, and I believe that i've found out what i'm going to do for the rest of my life. Now i know that whatever
teacher got selected to read through the stacks of senior essays that contained my piece is probably laughing at that last bit. If only i knew right? But
just hear me out. My goal is to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps. From a very young age, the idea of flight has fascinated me.

Persuasive Essay On The Education System
Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value
high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But
that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of
education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution.
Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on
teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to
succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by
larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current
education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress
throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be
measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning.

Persuasive Essay On Decision Making
Decisions are an important part of our daily life and I had not given an another thought on how I make decisions in my daily life. According to
McShane and Von Glinow "Decision making is the process of making choices among alternatives with the intention of moving towards some
desired state of affairs" (McShane & Von Glinow,2015). In this TED talk video, Chang lets us to ponder the reasons hard choices are so difficult.
At some point in our lives, we allow life and other factors guide us and also get us in a situation which we don't like but are afraid to make a change.
Planning can be as simple as if you need to wear a formal or casual dress for a dinner with your boss or planning to residency in surgery or physician
after completing the medical program. While some decisions seem harder, situations arise when we are placed in a complicated choice from different
alternatives and we approach the choices with the fear of uncertainty.
Ruth talks about how to make hard choices – between 2 jobs or partners, or whether to have children or not. During an easy choice one is better than
another. But during hard choice selection each choice has different better values, but none of them is clearly better. We think of them as big choices,
but the same dilemma can happen when choosing dinner locations with friends – do they prefer Chinese food or Italian food? By realizing that even
these small choices are hard, we can make the big ones easier: if most of my friends like noodles over

Persuasive Speech On Too Much Homework
Everyday I wake up and get ready for yet another gruesome school day. As I do this, I find myself filled with stress, anxiety, and honestly just a pure
hatred, for the massive amount of homework that is going to pile up as the day drags on. Is that really how it how it should be? I personally feel that
students are being forced under a lot of pressure because of the overwhelming amounts of homework that is assigned to them. Before you begin with the
eyerolls and rebuttals as to why homework is important to our education, let me just I agree with you! Homework isn't entirely useless, and it has many
great qualities, but the immense amounts tend to be too much for us to bear. Too much homework can really be a problem for students, some have

Yes, I understand that sometimes I need more help on certain topics and sometimes students do need more help with something, but I think that
teachers should still have more of a limit to how much homework they can assign, given the fat that they are only one of the seven other classes we
have to take and that's not including other out–of–school activities and clubs we are taking part in.
Along with homework being too repetitive, it can also be damaging to our physical and mental health. Fow example, sleep. So many students, not
only in my school, are losing a lot of sleep due to all of the homework, as I said before, that they have to complete after arriving home. For me, after
getting home from a sporting event at midnight, showering, doing chores, probably eating, doing my homework, and preparing for the next day of
school, it is usually sometime around 3 o'clock at night before I actually crawl into bed. That's ridiculous! A Lot like my elders (teacher, parents,
grandparents etc.) are always nagging about us staying up all night scrolling on Instagram or Twitter and watching Youtube, I think they should also be
doing something about the insane amounts of homework that we have keeping us up all night. My parents don't let me have my phone in my room at
night because they think/know that I will be up all night playing on it, but

Persuasive Essay About Science
Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the
question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating
through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally
the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and
Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My
mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she
would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me
entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so
many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed.
There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This
feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking

Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay
When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions and I was quite good at convincing people to agree
with my stand points. To convince others to agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across and
giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive essays because I love to read them as well. I love how
persuasive essays have a call–to–action; giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for others, if I
believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in
life. My opinions matter just as much as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all into a piece
and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive
writing; just know I include research to help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able to write
things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the meaning and how to write about things I may not always
agree with. Being able to describe my writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. Giving my readers a better visual is

Persuasive Essay On School Trip
Educational School Trips The truth is that my school is one of the best schools in Honduras and I really like it. Schools always need advice because
they are not perfect. However, one of the problems of my school is that students are not been heard; the word of students does not have too much
weight or not weight at all. I hope that we as students may change things in school through the essays we are doing. Additionally, the majority of
students wants the best for them and the topic that I am about to explain is very beneficial for them. For instance, as a student, I would like the school
to aim to better extra curriculum activities. This extra curriculum activity may take the school to the top of a mountain my point here is not helping
other people, sports, or etc. Indeed, my point is traveling to other countries and learns thing that teachers do not...show more content...
Besides, traveling has changed many people in a positive way, so it may be the best step school can take. Fomenting students all these qualities and
experience will result in a successful person. However, Schools should also change their way of thinking and try new things to see how they work
out. Pinares should try doing this once and they will not regret it because focus students want their best for them. Just imagine you as a school people
saying, "Pinares is the best option because the best professionals come from there and a trip to other countries has influenced those professionals
extremely." All people will talk about Pinares because of their trips and impact in some students. Obviously, you will not take the tremendous kids
because it will not work out. Forming efficient students is what school should work in. As I said before, knowledge is not everything you need to know
much more than that to survive in the real world. Life is tough and the more prepare you are the less tough it will be for

Persuasive Essay On Group Work
Campuses and schools are all there for a student to help succeed and get different degrees such as an associate, master, bachelor and doctoral.
However, everyone cannot go to the same areas. Furthermore, having the influence of friends and knowing who to study with can be way less
stressful and aid you to study better. Group work, especially can be a good plan when you want to get your classmates to think compact and dig
deeper, and with different varieties of skill levels and ways of thinking about work, can be a benefit to all. Furthermore, friends may be on the
campus that they will know about, so it makes people feel light during college. So, this leads students going to a known campus, such as Marietta
Campus. The reason why I got to this campus out of the rest is because it has every class from the lower core classes to classes where you need to do
engineering labs and projects for a final grade. This can support significantly because of my own travel and time, create long lasting relationships for
future benefits, expanding my own mind, and getting cheaper tuition than Kennesaw or Georgia Tech.
Traveling for students can be either be horrified or mostly be better than normal. If the student does not work and has no proper schedule, this will
cause a student like myself, to begin a terrible habit and have a chance for her/him to drop out. However, Chattahoochee Tech, Marietta Campus is
great for making time and travel easy by having seven to eight campuses plus online

Persuasive Essay On Character Education
So there I was sitting on the front steps of my house with my head in my hands. Tear after tear rolling off my face into a puddle in my hands. Now
realizing that everyone could see me, I went inside to meet my mom sitting at the table just inside. I turn my head the other way, trying to hide my
puffy eyes and runny nose. She looks up from her computer and over her reading glasses and says softly, "What's wrong dear?". Shaking my head, I
shoot up the steps and slam my bedroom door behind me. I am in my room and feeling alone, once again for the 100th time today, I pull out my
journal and start writing everything that happened to me. My journal is almost full and it's only October, I write. How am I supposed to be able to
continue on and let this just happen to me, I continue. People's character is something that is often questioned. Kids are not getting the kind of
guidance at home that they need, they do not know right from wrong. This issue is something that needs to be addressed more in schools. Our society
may be growing in technology, but our society will not be able to continue to grow successfully if the children nowadays are not growing up respectful.
The young children will not have the ability to be successful. Although character education is important and is positive, but it would not be beneficial to
have a lesson in every class, every day.
Starting the character education young would be very beneficial, that way kids are exposed young. The education would

Persuasive Narrative Essay
It was my last memory from my class at Meadowbrook, the school's right of passage at the end of the 8th grade year: ziplining in Costa Rica. I felt
my stomach tighten as I took a step up to the first platform, took one last deep breath, and jumped. The violent, Costa Rican air whipped around
me, spinning my body in a circle like a helicopter blade. I tirelessly squeezed the handlebar with the rough, sandpaper gloves like my life depended
on it. Ironically, at the time, I thought it did. I was mortified. After helplessly spinning around for about a minute, I crashed into the end of the line
and nervously unhooked my harness. One down, seven to go. The next line began similarly to the first one. I leaped off the platform hesitantly,
but the wind had died down and I was able to relax. I gazed across the seemingly endless lush, green landscapes of the Costa Rican mountain ranges
in awe. Still choke holding the handlebar, I was not comfortable in the slightest. I left the third platform just a second quicker feeling slightly more
secure in the harness. This time, I released the handlebar, leaving my doubts and worries behind. I was about as content as I could possibly be
given the circumstances, dangling thousands of feet up in the air in the mountains, supported by a jaded wooden rope an inch in diameter. Two
summers ago, I trotted onto the 18th green, up one stroke in the tournament. It felt incredible, all my hard work was finally going to pay off. I had
a 2 foot putt with no break, a putt I could make a million times over in my sleep. I placed my hands onto my putter as they gradually started to
shake and tremble. I felt my stomach tighten as I realized this "gimme" putt was nothing I could have ever prepared for. I was ready to get my first
tournament win. My hands still wavering, I brought the putter straight back and through. It felt like an eternity as my ball inched closer and closer
toward the hole. But instead of reveling in the clink as the ball hit the bottom of the hole, the ball took a left hand turn, hit the edge of the cup, and
settled a measly inch or two from the hole. I tapped in and walked away, devastated that I had just lost the tournament. It was as if my countless hours
of preparation had

Persuasive Essay On Knowledge Is Power
We all want the inevitable, removing "im" in impossible, setting goals for ourselves, desiring the best jobs and thirsting for power. Francis Brown
once said "Knowledge is power" but, what is knowledge and how can we obtain this? The word knowledge is defined as factual information that's
acquired by a person through experiences or education. Unfortunately, not everyone possesses enough knowledge. We often define knowledge with a
mixture of opinions and a misunderstanding of our surroundings. Not having enough knowledge or lacking in knowledge can sometimes be
overwhelming causing people to feel they're not intelligent enough to partake in society and may even cause insecurity .Thirty or more years from
now all this will soon come to an absolute conclusion. Knowledge will be for masses of people just by simply consuming a pill. This pill will not
guarantee full knowledge but, it will enhance it. This pill will reduce racial indifference, cause better thinking and rational decisions, and maintain and
expand peace between all nations. "Racism springs from ignorance". We live in a society where racism happens to everyone which, is motivated by
ignorance and media. One of the common racial group that still faces racial discrimination and injustice today is, African–Americans. Being a few
shades darker you are often viewed as a threat, poor or even as an animal. This doesn't only occur in the United States, but other countries as well such
as China. We read

Semester Grade Average Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Semester Grade Average Persuasive Essay I am writing to you in hopes that I may persuade you to add ten extra points to my semester grade average. I strongly believe that my current semester grade should be increased by ten points, as I have worked extremely arduously to surpass where I am as shown from my progress on Parent Portal. I realize that I haven't always done my work like I've been doing recently, but I believe everyone deserves a second chance to bounce back from an atrocious situation. How would you know if a student is dealing with personal issues at home and can't concentrate in school ? or what if a student cannot comprehend the subject being taught in class ? I have no doubts that a pupil who gives effort to change their grade should be granted their wish. Today Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Social Work The social work profession and my life experiences have taught me that we all at one point of our lives have been in the position of asking for help. For some people asking for help may be an effortless task, but for others, asking for help may involve challenging cultural and family values. This paper will focus on a period in my life when asking for help signified a huge personal challenge, as I was taught growing up that I should keep my personal problems to myself and not involve third parties. I moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic at age 16. I can certainly state that this has been the most difficult time of my life thus far. Besides going through physical, social and cultural changes, I was also facing the divorce of my parents. Although I had been an "A" student in the Dominican Republic, I was doing very poorly in high school as a result of these combined struggles and the fact that I was still learning the language. After struggling for several months, I wrote a letter stating all of my problems and that I did not want to be alive. A week after writing the letter, I decided to give it to my school counselor. I gave it to her because I didn't want to aggravate or worry my mother and felt that she could do nothing to help me. I believed the counselor was in a position to actually help me with my problems. At the point that I decided to give my counselor the letter, I was feeling very anxious, overwhelmed and stressed, and I did not know what else to do. I felt hopeless about the whole situation; I had been forced to come to the United States, and when I arrived, I was forced to confront the reality of my parents' divorce. I couldn't make decisions for myself because I was a minor, so the power was in my parents' hands, and they weren't doing anything that seemed productive or helpful to me. In going to my counselor with the letter, I was looking for someone who had the power to help me. In the exchange with the counselor, she had all the power in our relationship. I felt somewhat comfortable approaching her because we were both Hispanics and immigrants. The most significant aspects of my positionality in this context, were my age and my education. My counselor was educated and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research. During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them. Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay Vacation The average American receives ten days of paid vacation a year and millions of workers do not even use them all. Vacation provides a much–needed escape from the daily grind and hustle n bustle of the work routine. The best kind of vacations include family and friends, lively experiences, new countries, cultures, and the promise of relaxation. Relaxing on the beach in the Bahamas, ziplining in Sao Paulo, horse backing in the Andes Mountains, or exploring the city of Vienna in Austria all provide a different experience in a new country and culture. Experiencing and exploring with friends and family is even better; allowing for stronger relationships and creating enjoyable memories for years to come. One aspect of a fun vacation is spending time with friends and family. No matter if in a new country or a new neighborhood, exploring new places and experiencing new things together can strengthen friendships and bonds between family members. Having shared memories from a particular vacation can be a helpful reminder of a happy time when a family relationship or friendship turns sour. While on my trip to Ecuador over the summer, I went with twelve over classmates and also ten other high school students from around the country. Although the girls from school I traveled with were acquaintances at the beginning of the trip, by the end of the eleven days living together in a foreign country, we became best friends and still are today. In addition, the students I did not know before Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay About High School Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not have any classes together, it is strictly grade by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay About The Future What are you going to be when you grow up? The go–to inquiry of almost every adult in a child's life. It is asked almost in a whimsical way in the first few years; often met with innocently ambitious responses such as an astronaut or a deep sea diver. With most kids, myself included, the answer changed several times throughout grade school. My starry eyed dreams of becoming an archeologist soon shifted to architect, and then to wilderness firefighter, then soldier, policeman, engineer, and so on. I could be anything i could dream up in this world and i had forever to decide. However, there comes a point in every teenager's life where the question of the future starts to scare you. This distant future is now becoming a very real thing that needs to be figured out and planned, because it's almost time to make that next step. I've always heard it said that high school will be the quickest four years of your life. I had no idea just how fast until it was time for me to start preparing for the real world. Over the past two years, i've really done some "soul searching" so to speak, and I believe that i've found out what i'm going to do for the rest of my life. Now i know that whatever teacher got selected to read through the stacks of senior essays that contained my piece is probably laughing at that last bit. If only i knew right? But just hear me out. My goal is to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps. From a very young age, the idea of flight has fascinated me. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On The Education System Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution. Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning. • 8. Persuasive Essay On Decision Making Decisions are an important part of our daily life and I had not given an another thought on how I make decisions in my daily life. According to McShane and Von Glinow "Decision making is the process of making choices among alternatives with the intention of moving towards some desired state of affairs" (McShane & Von Glinow,2015). In this TED talk video, Chang lets us to ponder the reasons hard choices are so difficult. At some point in our lives, we allow life and other factors guide us and also get us in a situation which we don't like but are afraid to make a change. Planning can be as simple as if you need to wear a formal or casual dress for a dinner with your boss or planning to residency in surgery or physician after completing the medical program. While some decisions seem harder, situations arise when we are placed in a complicated choice from different alternatives and we approach the choices with the fear of uncertainty. Ruth talks about how to make hard choices – between 2 jobs or partners, or whether to have children or not. During an easy choice one is better than another. But during hard choice selection each choice has different better values, but none of them is clearly better. We think of them as big choices, but the same dilemma can happen when choosing dinner locations with friends – do they prefer Chinese food or Italian food? By realizing that even these small choices are hard, we can make the big ones easier: if most of my friends like noodles over Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Speech On Too Much Homework Everyday I wake up and get ready for yet another gruesome school day. As I do this, I find myself filled with stress, anxiety, and honestly just a pure hatred, for the massive amount of homework that is going to pile up as the day drags on. Is that really how it how it should be? I personally feel that students are being forced under a lot of pressure because of the overwhelming amounts of homework that is assigned to them. Before you begin with the eyerolls and rebuttals as to why homework is important to our education, let me just I agree with you! Homework isn't entirely useless, and it has many great qualities, but the immense amounts tend to be too much for us to bear. Too much homework can really be a problem for students, some have ...show more content... Yes, I understand that sometimes I need more help on certain topics and sometimes students do need more help with something, but I think that teachers should still have more of a limit to how much homework they can assign, given the fat that they are only one of the seven other classes we have to take and that's not including other out–of–school activities and clubs we are taking part in. Along with homework being too repetitive, it can also be damaging to our physical and mental health. Fow example, sleep. So many students, not only in my school, are losing a lot of sleep due to all of the homework, as I said before, that they have to complete after arriving home. For me, after getting home from a sporting event at midnight, showering, doing chores, probably eating, doing my homework, and preparing for the next day of school, it is usually sometime around 3 o'clock at night before I actually crawl into bed. That's ridiculous! A Lot like my elders (teacher, parents, grandparents etc.) are always nagging about us staying up all night scrolling on Instagram or Twitter and watching Youtube, I think they should also be doing something about the insane amounts of homework that we have keeping us up all night. My parents don't let me have my phone in my room at night because they think/know that I will be up all night playing on it, but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay About Science Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will continue to grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive essays because I love to read them as well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action; giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for others, if I believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in life. My opinions matter just as much as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all into a piece and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive writing; just know I include research to help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able to write things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the meaning and how to write about things I may not always agree with. Being able to describe my writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. Giving my readers a better visual is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay On School Trip Educational School Trips The truth is that my school is one of the best schools in Honduras and I really like it. Schools always need advice because they are not perfect. However, one of the problems of my school is that students are not been heard; the word of students does not have too much weight or not weight at all. I hope that we as students may change things in school through the essays we are doing. Additionally, the majority of students wants the best for them and the topic that I am about to explain is very beneficial for them. For instance, as a student, I would like the school to aim to better extra curriculum activities. This extra curriculum activity may take the school to the top of a mountain my point here is not helping other people, sports, or etc. Indeed, my point is traveling to other countries and learns thing that teachers do not...show more content... Besides, traveling has changed many people in a positive way, so it may be the best step school can take. Fomenting students all these qualities and experience will result in a successful person. However, Schools should also change their way of thinking and try new things to see how they work out. Pinares should try doing this once and they will not regret it because focus students want their best for them. Just imagine you as a school people saying, "Pinares is the best option because the best professionals come from there and a trip to other countries has influenced those professionals extremely." All people will talk about Pinares because of their trips and impact in some students. Obviously, you will not take the tremendous kids because it will not work out. Forming efficient students is what school should work in. As I said before, knowledge is not everything you need to know much more than that to survive in the real world. Life is tough and the more prepare you are the less tough it will be for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essay On Group Work Campuses and schools are all there for a student to help succeed and get different degrees such as an associate, master, bachelor and doctoral. However, everyone cannot go to the same areas. Furthermore, having the influence of friends and knowing who to study with can be way less stressful and aid you to study better. Group work, especially can be a good plan when you want to get your classmates to think compact and dig deeper, and with different varieties of skill levels and ways of thinking about work, can be a benefit to all. Furthermore, friends may be on the campus that they will know about, so it makes people feel light during college. So, this leads students going to a known campus, such as Marietta Campus. The reason why I got to this campus out of the rest is because it has every class from the lower core classes to classes where you need to do engineering labs and projects for a final grade. This can support significantly because of my own travel and time, create long lasting relationships for future benefits, expanding my own mind, and getting cheaper tuition than Kennesaw or Georgia Tech. Traveling for students can be either be horrified or mostly be better than normal. If the student does not work and has no proper schedule, this will cause a student like myself, to begin a terrible habit and have a chance for her/him to drop out. However, Chattahoochee Tech, Marietta Campus is great for making time and travel easy by having seven to eight campuses plus online Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Persuasive Essay On Character Education So there I was sitting on the front steps of my house with my head in my hands. Tear after tear rolling off my face into a puddle in my hands. Now realizing that everyone could see me, I went inside to meet my mom sitting at the table just inside. I turn my head the other way, trying to hide my puffy eyes and runny nose. She looks up from her computer and over her reading glasses and says softly, "What's wrong dear?". Shaking my head, I shoot up the steps and slam my bedroom door behind me. I am in my room and feeling alone, once again for the 100th time today, I pull out my journal and start writing everything that happened to me. My journal is almost full and it's only October, I write. How am I supposed to be able to continue on and let this just happen to me, I continue. People's character is something that is often questioned. Kids are not getting the kind of guidance at home that they need, they do not know right from wrong. • 18. Persuasive Narrative Essay It was my last memory from my class at Meadowbrook, the school's right of passage at the end of the 8th grade year: ziplining in Costa Rica. I felt my stomach tighten as I took a step up to the first platform, took one last deep breath, and jumped. The violent, Costa Rican air whipped around me, spinning my body in a circle like a helicopter blade. I tirelessly squeezed the handlebar with the rough, sandpaper gloves like my life depended on it. Ironically, at the time, I thought it did. I was mortified. After helplessly spinning around for about a minute, I crashed into the end of the line and nervously unhooked my harness. One down, seven to go. The next line began similarly to the first one. I leaped off the platform hesitantly, but the wind had died down and I was able to relax. I gazed across the seemingly endless lush, green landscapes of the Costa Rican mountain ranges in awe. Still choke holding the handlebar, I was not comfortable in the slightest. I left the third platform just a second quicker feeling slightly more secure in the harness. This time, I released the handlebar, leaving my doubts and worries behind. I was about as content as I could possibly be given the circumstances, dangling thousands of feet up in the air in the mountains, supported by a jaded wooden rope an inch in diameter. Two summers ago, I trotted onto the 18th green, up one stroke in the tournament. It felt incredible, all my hard work was finally going to pay off. I had a 2 foot putt with no break, a putt I could make a million times over in my sleep. I placed my hands onto my putter as they gradually started to shake and tremble. I felt my stomach tighten as I realized this "gimme" putt was nothing I could have ever prepared for. I was ready to get my first tournament win. My hands still wavering, I brought the putter straight back and through. It felt like an eternity as my ball inched closer and closer toward the hole. But instead of reveling in the clink as the ball hit the bottom of the hole, the ball took a left hand turn, hit the edge of the cup, and settled a measly inch or two from the hole. I tapped in and walked away, devastated that I had just lost the tournament. It was as if my countless hours of preparation had Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Persuasive Essay On Knowledge Is Power We all want the inevitable, removing "im" in impossible, setting goals for ourselves, desiring the best jobs and thirsting for power. Francis Brown once said "Knowledge is power" but, what is knowledge and how can we obtain this? The word knowledge is defined as factual information that's acquired by a person through experiences or education. Unfortunately, not everyone possesses enough knowledge. We often define knowledge with a mixture of opinions and a misunderstanding of our surroundings. Not having enough knowledge or lacking in knowledge can sometimes be overwhelming causing people to feel they're not intelligent enough to partake in society and may even cause insecurity .Thirty or more years from now all this will soon come to an absolute conclusion. Knowledge will be for masses of people just by simply consuming a pill. This pill will not guarantee full knowledge but, it will enhance it. This pill will reduce racial indifference, cause better thinking and rational decisions, and maintain and expand peace between all nations. "Racism springs from ignorance". We live in a society where racism happens to everyone which, is motivated by ignorance and media. One of the common racial group that still faces racial discrimination and injustice today is, African–Americans. Being a few shades darker you are often viewed as a threat, poor or even as an animal. This doesn't only occur in the United States, but other countries as well such as China. We read Get more content on HelpWriting.net
