Types of Advertisements
WHAT IS ADVERTISING ?WHAT IS ADVERTISING ?
->Advertising is a form of communication used
to persuade audiences (viewers, readers, or
listeners) to take some action with respect to
products, idea, or services.
->Advertising message are usually paid by
sponsors and viewed via various mass-media
such as Newspaper, Radio, out door advertising
or direct mail, or new media such as websites
and text messages.
Major types of Advertising Media
NEWS PAPERS
MAGAZINES
RADIO
TELEVISION
OUTDOOR MEDIA
INTERNET
NEWS PAPER
ADVERTISEMENTS
-> Newspaper advertising has been around
longer than any other form of advertising
we see today and is still the first kind of
advertising that businesses think about
doing.
-> Indian newspapers are published in
languages that cover Hindi, Marathi,
Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telegu,
Assamese, Odiya, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati,
Punjabi, Marwari and much more.
->They are a good way to reach a large
number of people, especially those aged
45-plus who tend to read the paper more
frequently than younger demographic
groups who tend to get their news from
television, radio or the internet.
MAGAZINES
ADVERTISEMENTS
-> When it comes to magazine
advertising, most people think of
the large, glossy, national
publications full of big brand
advertisers.
-> Magazines are typically kept for a
longer period of time than newspapers
because of their higher printing quality.
For example, in Medical Hospitals
usually save magazines because they
give people something to read while
waiting for their appointment. A reader
of a magazine may keep an issue if it
contains particularly interesting
information. If one puts an ad in a
magazine, it is likely that someone will,
through some circumstance, pick up the
magazine several months from its print
date and see the ad.
RADIO
ADVERTISEMENTS
->Radio is the art of speaking
effectively. Without a visual medium
everything relies on the voice, tone,
pace, variety, and emotion. The
speaker needs to sound scared,
excited, nervous, calm, etc. if that’s
the feel of the commercial, failing to
get the perfect sound for the ad will
lead to wasted sales and wasted
money.
-> Another significant advantage of
radio advertising is the ability to
market to both local and national
audiences. Radio is one of the few
forms of advertising that allows the
brand a large amount of control over
who experiences the ad and when.
TELEVISION
ADVERTISEMENTS
->Television has the advantage of
sophistication ahead of any other
medium. Visual and auditory
stimulation combined can be a
powerful tool. Interesting camera
angles, realism and the combination of
pictures and words is instantly
exciting.
->Television advertising has the ability
to show a product, demonstrate its use
and the benefits of ownership or
consumption. Well-executed TV
advertising can persuade families to
make instant decisions about
purchasing products, according to their
own needs.
OUTDOOR
ADVERTISEMENTS
-> This is a great marketing platform for
brands or business that are trying to
reach a broader audience. Outdoor
advertising is public and has access to
consumers that can sometimes be
difficult to reach. Like younger users,
busy business people and lower income
consumers who may not have access to
traditional mediums, so this type of
advertising can help them.
-> Outdoor advertising provides the final
push before a point of purchase. When a
customer is near a point of purchase,
outdoor advertising generates
widespread awareness.
