PROJECT MANAGER / ARCHITECT
Planning, Design and Construction 2013 - Current
Missouri State University
Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously through planning, design and construction as the
owner’s representative for Missouri State University totaling over $63 million in value.
 Renovation and Addition, Glass Hall College of Business, $33.84 million project budget
approved by the MSU Board of Governors in October 2015. This project is currently in the bidding
phase. I have directed the design of this project from February 2015 until now.
 Athletic and Recreation Field Improvements, $27+ million project budget. In October 2013,
MSU students voted overwhelmingly (over 80%!) in favor of the B.E.A.R. fee which paid for the
majority of the work for this project.
o I oversaw the planning, design, and construction as MSU’s Owner’s Representative.
Work began with planning in March 2013 to July 2013, issuing RFQs for
Architect/Engineer design teams, and short listing A/E firms. From July 2013 to December
2013, I managed the A/E design team in meetings with key stakeholders and department
heads at MSU, reviewed design, issued contract documents, and received bids from
general contractors. From December 2013 to September 2014 worked with general
contractors and design team to review all work and verify that construction met the design
intent. Coordinated work with local agencies and MSU departments to keep project
moving smoothly and efficiently as possible given the challenging schedule, inclement
weather, testing site conditions, and high end-user expectations. By September 13, 2014,
we were ready for our first home football game which we won 38-0 over North Dakota with
the largest capacity crowd to date of over 18,000!
o The four venues are as follows:
 Venue 1 – Replacement of East Bleachers (4,000 seats, team meeting rooms,
restrooms, concessions, and storage) and new synthetic turf Football Field at
Plaster Stadium.
 Venue 2 – Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium (Track/Soccer) – 1,000 seats,
8 – lane 400 meter NCAA broken back track surrounding an NCAA synthetic turf
soccer field.
 Venue 3 – Betty and Bobby Allison North Stadium (Field Hockey/Lacrosse) – 250
seats, Field Hockey/Lacrosse field.
 Venue 4 – Betty and Bobby Allison Sand Volleyball Courts – this club facility is
designed to grow into an NCAA compliant facility if and when MSU decides it.
 Welcome Center, 12,800 SF, $6.3 million project budget. This facility has recently been
completed. It is a unique jewel on campus and will be the first impression for prospective college

 JQH Arena, Jim D. Morris Basketball Complex (Interior Renovation), 14,000 SF, $3.7 million
project budget.
 Craig Hall, Stage Lift Replacement, $375,000 project budget.
 Plaster Student Union 3rd
Floor Interior Renovation, $1.5 million project budget in (3) phases. I
coordinated all of this construction work to occur during summer and winter breaks.

Skills
Communication – My goal is to plan and design places to meet your real needs. I do this by truly listening
to you, and following your vision, not mine. The success of your project is dependent upon me
understanding what your needs are and providing practical solutions for your success. Achieving this
occurs by close communication with you, asking the right questions, listening to your needs, and acting to
fulfill those needs to make you successful. This is my goal on every project I do.
Vision – One of the greatest benefits of hiring me is the vision I bring. This will pay off by providing
direction on every project from concept to completion.
Team Building – I am a synthesizer, which means I can bring people of various backgrounds together for a
common goal. I have demonstrated that success on any level stems from a team based approach with
egos left at the door. This approach relies on an innovative working environment. I understand it takes
effort to bring a team together with each person working out of their unique strengths to achieve our goal
of making you successful.
Managerial and Technical Expertise – I have experience overseeing architects, engineers, and contractors
on multiple large complex projects simultaneously. I have managed a 60-Acre Sports Park in construction
while overseeing the design of a multi-million dollar adaptive re-use of an existing 260,000 SF hospital
converting it into an academic/student services building. Both of these projects were at James Madison
University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I enjoy and look forward to leading complex, challenging and unique
projects.
Thoroughness and Versatility – I understand the political sensitivity needed working for sophisticated
clientele, combined with the amount of detail necessary to maintain Owner design and construction
standards, and also balancing the demands of Governmental Agency approvals. Keeping sight of the
bigger picture amidst all of these issues is my goal for every project no matter how big or small.

Uganda, Village of Kicuna in Western Uganda – 2000 Project: Master Plan & Design of Orphan homes for orphaned children from AIDS. Skills  Communication – My goal is to plan and design places to meet your real needs. I do this by truly listening to you, and following your vision, not mine. The success of your project is dependent upon me understanding what your needs are and providing practical solutions for your success. Achieving this occurs by close communication with you, asking the right questions, listening to your needs, and acting to fulfill those needs to make you successful. This is my goal on every project I do. Vision – One of the greatest benefits of hiring me is the vision I bring. This will pay off by providing direction on every project from concept to completion. Team Building – I am a synthesizer, which means I can bring people of various backgrounds together for a common goal. I have demonstrated that success on any level stems from a team based approach with egos left at the door. This approach relies on an innovative working environment. I understand it takes effort to bring a team together with each person working out of their unique strengths to achieve our goal of making you successful. Managerial and Technical Expertise – I have experience overseeing architects, engineers, and contractors on multiple large complex projects simultaneously. I have managed a 60-Acre Sports Park in construction while overseeing the design of a multi-million dollar adaptive re-use of an existing 260,000 SF hospital converting it into an academic/student services building. Both of these projects were at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I enjoy and look forward to leading complex, challenging and unique projects. Thoroughness and Versatility – I understand the political sensitivity needed working for sophisticated clientele, combined with the amount of detail necessary to maintain Owner design and construction standards, and also balancing the demands of Governmental Agency approvals. Keeping sight of the bigger picture amidst all of these issues is my goal for every project no matter how big or small. References are available on request.
