PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1. Deputy Director / Chief of Operations, Zastita i sigurnost (private Security company),
Doboj, BiH, July 2014 - present
Duties and responsibilities:
Remotely support field offices. Responsible for the overall logistics and security strategy of the
company and for the management and efficient implementation of all policies and procedures.
Coordinates supplies and deliveries for HQ and field offices. Manage all other logistics responsibilities
i.e. Properties, Fleet, Stock, Assets, ICT, Contracts. Continually revise and lead on strategy for logistics
together with HQ and field offices’ support. Guarantees that PUI’s procedures and logistical tools are
in place and are respected. Acts as the security and safety focal point in ensuring the safety and security
of staff and assets, throughout the implementation of relevant policies and procedures in risk
mitigation. Supports the CEO in risk management measures and puts measures in place to mitigate
risks. Responsible for the design and implementation of company’s Security Management System and
assist CEO in strategic analysis of political-security information. Contribute to the fulfilment of the
Company’s aims and objectives. Ensure that basic routines related to security and safety management
are followed, relevant safety equipment is installed and maintained effectively. Looking after the
building safety and the security guards. Conduct security and safety briefings to new staff and visitors,
assist with training and event management. Support the CEO in drafting of specific guidelines related
to the Company, including office security and evacuation plans and conducts security and safety
assessment on all Company’s premises. Support the CEO in the development of regional security and
safety frameworks incl. security protocols/operating procedures, recording and tracking of incidents,
trends analysis and similar. Advise the CEO in implementation of mitigating security measures.
Conduct Security Risks Assessments according to minimum operational requirements (MOSS)
outlined in the Company’s security instructions, or as situations require, and as a result enforce to
minimize the risk to the operation of the Company. Together with the CEO ensure Company’s
operations in country are MOSS compliant. Construct and maintain strong network for gathering
security related information. Liaise with civilian and law enforcement authorities. Coordinate and
report to CEO of all activities in Company. Establish Company - specific security protocols. Provide
credible information and contextual analysis of localized and regional security situations and incidents
along with appropriate advise to the CEO. Commences threat assessments and provides advice to
manage risk; Maintenance and update security related guidelines and ensure that field security working
practices are robust and that all staff are aware of, trained in, and adhered to security management
policy, guidelines and SOPs.
Summary of my Achievements:
I have managed to complete all tasks assigned to me on time and I am often working late hours. CEO
has been more than satisfied with the work done by me. I have managed to develop and ensure the
systematic application of safety and security management policies and procedures in all company’s
areas, in very short period. I managed to establish and keep the principle of transparency, the principle
of efficiency, and the principle of equality of bidders. Shortly after I resumed duty, I managed to
establish and develop Company’s Security Plan and Operating Procedures.
2. Chief Transport Engineer, The Railways of Republic of Srpska, February 2012 – June 2014
Duties and responsibilities:
Integrate the work of Engineers for transport organization of railway consignments and Claims
Engineers; Follow transport restrictions introduced by other (international) railway companies and
provides transportation restrictions for the area of The Railways of Republic of Srpska; Follow changes
and editions of regulations related to railway transport, and monitor their implementation; Establishes
and keep contact with clients / potential clients; Monitor / implement procurement planning, control
and oversight Company’s and Client’s inventory; Organize necessary paperwork with Ministries of
Transport of BiH, RS and other European countries; Supervise and conducts staff’s performance

Summary of my Achievements:

Summary of my Achievements:
I have managed to meet tight deadlines ensuring that all given tasks are achieved in a timely manner. In
several occasions, I jumped in Close Protection Teams as needed, and my superior was more than
satisfied with my accomplishments and professionalism.
3. Claims Engineer, The Railways of Republic of Srpska, September 2009 – December 2009
Duties and responsibilities:
Establishes and keep contact with clients / potential clients; Implement procurement planning, control
and oversight Company’s and Client’s inventory; Organizing necessary paperwork with Ministries of
Transport of BiH, RS and other European countries; Maintain contact with railways in Europe
regarding transport of special consignments; Maintain contact with railways in Europe regarding flow
of RS wagons outside of BiH; Maintain contact with railways in Europe regarding flow of foreign
railways’ wagons while on RS railroads; Supervise and conducts staff’s performance management;
Other duties as necessary for the job to be successfully completed.
Summary of my Achievements:
I have managed to meet tight deadlines ensuring that all given tasks are achieved in a timely manner
although my Unit was understaffed at certain periods of time. Faced with the lack of manpower I have
managed to prioritize goals in effective and efficient manner.

gathering, transport and storage of waste in temporary warehouse in Doboj; Implement procurement

Ministries of BiH, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria regarding transport of waste; Maintain contact with

performance management; Sustain the establishment of and implement an effective project operations
and budget monitoring system; Act as focal point for all field project operational matters, handle
project financial activities (disbursements, advances); Ensure the timely provision of project inputs

Organization or, when appropriate, through contractors; develop and follow up on the implementation
of standard operating procedures related to procurement and operations; and ensure consistency in the

Summary of my Achievements:
I proved that I had performed very well, being confident, possessing excellent administrative and
language skills, a good concentration span, and was able to meet tight deadlines. Often times my work
was praised by my Superiors.
4. Security Officer – Investigator, UN Mission to Liberia, September 2007 – December 2008
Duties and responsibilities:
Planning, organization and conducting investigations of alleged violations of UN Rules, Regulations
and pertinent administrative issuance falling under Category II (misconduct); As directed by the Head
of the Special Investigations Unit or the CSA assists in the organization and conduct of Category I
(serious misconduct) cases; Conducts traffic incident response and, as required, investigation; Conducts
incident response activities, either personally or with other investigators, to ensure evidence initially
available is preserved for future analysis and investigation. Incident response activities include: pre-
response preparation, reception and recording of incident information, informing appropriate
persons/offices during and after response, planning for response, and deployment to the incident scene;
response definition and control of the incident scene, preservation of evidence and hand-over of the
scene to authoritative persons; post-response evidence protection and inventory, preparation and
submission of written records and debrief to relevant persons; Conducts investigation fact-finding to
identify information, find facts and establish evidence, based upon the fact-finding, produces and
submits investigation reports to appropriate authorities, and conducts post-investigation tasks; As
required, coordinates, collaborates and consults with local Host Country representatives, United
Nations and other relevant authorities throughout the investigation process; Functions as the standby
Investigations Duty Officer when placed on periodic roster to do so and performs other duties as
required and detailed by the Head of the Special Investigations Unit and/or the Chief Security
Adviser/Chief Security Officer/Security Adviser or equivalent; Performs other duties as required.
Summary of my Achievements:
I successfully provided thorough, accurate and well-written contributions allowing for the
determination of accountability thereby supporting subsequent decisions by the management.
5. Security Officer – Personal Protection Officer, UN Mission to Liberia, July 2006 – September
2007
Duties and responsibilities:
Maintains security coverage for the working office and personal residence of the Senior UN Official;
Ensures that mitigating measures are in place at all time to deter or deny identified threat and to
preserve the security, safety and wellbeing of the Senior UN Officials; Ensures that continued
effectiveness of the close protection team remains in relation to the changes of the local threat level;
Conducts close protection operations; Accompanies the Senior UN Official during official travels and
coordinates all related security requirements; Reports to the Close Protection Officer (Detail Leader) on
official moves of the Senior UN Official; Within delegated authority, liaises with relevant security
focal points and briefs members of the CP Team; Prior to initiating a deployment, coordinates with
representatives of mission units or departments on issues of the location, current threat and political
climate and assesses, plans, coordinates and executes close protection operations; Conducts pre-
deployment briefings with the Close Protection Officers and coordinates with the staff in the office of
the Senior UN Official under the Close Protection Officer (Team Leader). Provides guidance on
changes that might occur whilst on duty; Deploys CP officers, in advance, for official moves to ensure
implementation of security arrangements; De-briefs CP Officers and assesses each move upon
conclusion; Monitors team equipment and ensures minimum equipment requirements are supplied,
maintained and deployed; performs any other duties as required.
Summary of my Achievements:
I proved that I can independently work on different positions within Personal Protection Unit: Team
Leader, Driver, Back-up Driver, Advance, as well as to independently prepare security plan for VIP’s
visit and to organize, run and monitor protection activities during VIP’s visit. I actively participated in
Security Plan preparation during the visit of Secretary General Mr. Coffey Anan to Liberia, and I was
chosen to be part of Mr. Annan’s Advance Team.
6. Regional Security Officer, UN Mission to Liberia, September 2004 – July 2006
Duties and responsibilities:
Develop and ensure the systematic application of safety and security management policies and
procedures; Responsible for the development and management of the regional security related strategy
and coordination and providing technical support; Identifies and supports the mitigation of potential
risks to security programming that impacts on UNMIL; Establish specific security protocols; Provide
credible information and contextual analysis of localized and regional security situations and incidents
along with appropriate advise to the RSA; Conducts threat assessment and provide advice to manage
risk; Maintain and update security related guidelines and ensure that field security working practices
are robust and that all staff are aware of, trained in, and adhered to security management policy,
guidelines and SOPs; Monitor security situation in sector and throughout the mission area and prepare
security reports, as well as changes in security plans, if necessary; Ensure that all program activities
and locations are assessed and monitored relative to their impact on staff safety and security, and make
recommendations on protocols and practices to reduce staff risk and vulnerability. Organize and
conduct daily security briefings for UN staff; In consultation with Deputy Chief Security Adviser
continuously monitor the security /safety environment nationally and locally for all UNMIL program
areas and make recommendations to the Chief Security Adviser; Develop and maintain up-to-date
context analysis and risks assessment; Develop and maintain an incident reporting system and a
database of incidents, conducts investigation of incidents and/or accidents and prepares reports;
Finalize security plans as part of a fully inclusive process involving a fair representation of team
members; Ensure that communication systems are adequate and maintained; Develop and maintain
SOPs; Organize trainings for staff members in order to introduce the necessary security skills and
awareness; Ensure that evacuation and medical evacuation plans are in place; Ensures that an
appropriate system is in place to provide security information to travelers in advance of their departure
– issuing travel security clearance; Ensure and regularly reassess that UNMIL, UNHCR and NGO’s
vehicles, premises and equipment are compliant with UN security standards. Coordinate post-incident
follow up actions, analysis and recommendations; Monitor all communications from other regional
offices related to security incidents and planning and provide timely feedback to questions raised from
the field and develop and maintain a database of security related incidents; Make regular visits to
counties under his jurisdiction to monitor security situation, security preparedness and field training;
Prepare a follow-up report with clear recommendations after each visit For the two years period I was
working as Regional Security Officer and Regional Administrative Officer in the Sector 2 of UNMIL,
where among other duties as RAO I was responsible for planning and implementing of logistical and
procurement needs for the entire sector.
Summary of my Achievements:
I learned how to identify the key issues in a complex situation, and to come to the heart of the problem
quickly; to gather relevant information before making a decision; consider positive and negative
impacts of decisions prior to making them; to take decisions with an eye to the impact on others and on
the Organization; to propose a course of action or make a recommendation based on all available
information; to check assumptions against facts. As I was commencing two duties during the two years
period: Regional Security Officer and Acting Regional Administrative Officer, I learned a lot about
administrative work in United Nations.
7. Security Officer – UN Mission to Kosovo, August 2004 – September 2004
Assisting Mission Planning Officers in creating and maintaining emergency plans and procedures.
Designing suitable warden plans.
Summary of my Achievements:
I successfully and in timely manner completed all cases assigned to me. I was forced to leave the
Mission because local Albanians threatened to kill me.

Responsible for the overall logistics and security strategy of the company and for the management and efficient implementation of all policies and procedures. Security Officer – Investigator, UN Mission to Liberia, September 2007 – December 2008 Duties and responsibilities: Planning, organization and conducting investigations of alleged violations of UN Rules, Regulations and pertinent administrative issuance falling under Category II (misconduct); As directed by the Head of the Special Investigations Unit or the CSA assists in the organization and conduct of Category I (serious misconduct) cases; Conducts traffic incident response and, as required, investigation; Conducts incident response activities, either personally or with other investigators, to ensure evidence initially available is preserved for future analysis and investigation. Security Officer – Personal Protection Officer, UN Mission to Liberia, July 2006 – September 2007 Duties and responsibilities: Maintains security coverage for the working office and personal residence of the Senior UN Official; Ensures that mitigating measures are in place at all time to deter or deny identified threat and to preserve the security, safety and wellbeing of the Senior UN Officials; Ensures that continued effectiveness of the close protection team remains in relation to the changes of the local threat level; Conducts close protection operations; Accompanies the Senior UN Official during official travels and
  • 5. coordinates all related security requirements; Reports to the Close Protection Officer (Detail Leader) on official moves of the Senior UN Official; Within delegated authority, liaises with relevant security focal points and briefs members of the CP Team; Prior to initiating a deployment, coordinates with representatives of mission units or departments on issues of the location, current threat and political climate and assesses, plans, coordinates and executes close protection operations; Conducts pre- deployment briefings with the Close Protection Officers and coordinates with the staff in the office of the Senior UN Official under the Close Protection Officer (Team Leader). Summary of my Achievements: I proved that I can independently work on different positions within Personal Protection Unit: Team Leader, Driver, Back-up Driver, Advance, as well as to independently prepare security plan for VIP’s visit and to organize, run and monitor protection activities during VIP’s visit. I actively participated in Security Plan preparation during the visit of Secretary General Mr. Coffey Anan to Liberia, and I was chosen to be part of Mr. Annan’s Advance Team. 6. Regional Security Officer, UN Mission to Liberia, September 2004 – July 2006 Duties and responsibilities: Develop and ensure the systematic application of safety and security management policies and procedures; Responsible for the development and management of the regional security related strategy and coordination and providing technical support; Identifies and supports the mitigation of potential risks to security programming that impacts on UNMIL; Establish specific security protocols; Provide credible information and contextual analysis of localized and regional security situations and incidents along with appropriate advise to the RSA; Conducts threat assessment and provide advice to manage risk; Maintain and update security related guidelines and ensure that field security working practices are robust and that all staff are aware of, trained in, and adhered to security management policy, guidelines and SOPs; Monitor security situation in sector and throughout the mission area and prepare security reports, as well as changes in security plans, if necessary; Ensure that all program activities and locations are assessed and monitored relative to their impact on staff safety and security, and make recommendations on protocols and practices to reduce staff risk and vulnerability.
