1. About the American Junior Golf Association
Membership
The largest Association of its kind, the AJGA has an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-19) of
approximately 6,500 junior golfers from 49 states and 50 foreign countries. Seventy-five percent of AJGA juniors receive
college scholarships, amounting in over 26.5 million scholarship dollars.
Mission Statement
The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and
women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
Impact on Junior Golfers
In addition to scholarship opportunities, today’s youth learn about acting with integrity and gratitude with a focus during
play on code of conduct, pace of play, care for the course and saying thank you.
Charitable Impact
Since AJGA’s inception over 2 million has been donated to charity thru the driving engine of the Junior Am fundraisers.
AJGA has donated to more than 300 grassroots Junior Golf programs including over $750,000 to The First Tee.
The AJGAACE Grant Program ensures opportunities for all. The ACE Grant program is a financial assistance program to
provide junior golfers who have the talent but not the financial recourses to play in AJGA events. The end results of these
grants is the funding of more than 5,400 playing opportunities and awarding more than 100 college scholarships.
Customer Hospitality
As a partner, you, your guest or clients can participate in our Junior-Am Tournament. The event allows you to play
a competitive round of golf with one of the future stars of the game, and is a great way to entertain clients or reward
employees. This is a chance to tee it up with golf’s next generation while also contributing to a worthy cause. Proceeds
benefit the AJGA Foundation and local junior golf programs. In 2015, Junior-Ams raised more than $1 million for
grassroots junior golf.
Fulfilling the Mission and AJGA Alumni
Many local players have participated in AJGA and gone on to receive college golf scholarships. These include: Bobby
Gates, Roland Thatcher, Stacy Lewis, Katie Futcher, Freddie Wedel, Andrew Ertel, and Diego Trevino. In addition
AJGAAlumni include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed, Jordan
Spieth and Paula Creamer. These are just a few of the hundreds of professional golfers who competed in the AJGA.
