HISTORY• Founded in 1916, The PGA of America is the largest working sports organization in the world, comprised of more than 28,000 dedicated men and women promoting the game of golf to everyone, everywhere.
• Since its founding in 1916, The PGA of America has enhanced its leadership position by growing the game of golf through its premier spectator events, world-class education and training programs, significant philanthropic outreach initiatives, and award-winning golf promotions.
• The association organized 40 tournaments a year for its members, including some that attract elite golfers, (Tiger Woods).
• The mission ofMISSION of PGA the PGA of America is to promote the enjoyment and participation in golf among the general public and to help grow the game by producing services to golf professionals and industry. Campeonatos• The PGA conducts a number of major events including the PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, PGA Grand Slam of Golf, and the biennial Ryder Cup. The PGA also conducts more than 30 tournaments for its members and apprentices, including the PGA Professional National Championship, PGA Cup, and the TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship, among others.
