2. What is Junior Achievement?
We are the nation’s largest organization dedicated to
giving young people the knowledge and skills they
need to own their economic success.
We deliver programs in Upstate SC. These programs
are relevant, hands on experiences that give students
from kindergarten through high school knowledge in
financial literacy, work readiness and
entrepreneurship.

3. What is BIZ Bowl?
Teams representing Upstate businesses, schools,
organizations, families and individuals come together for
a few hours of fun bowling, door prizes, good-natured
competition, and the support of a great cause.

4. Join us for BIZ Bowl 2012

• Friday, February 24th and Friday, March 2nd
6:30-8:30pm and 9:00-11:00pm
– Spartanburg-Paradise Lanes
• Friday, March 9th
6:30-8:30pm and 9:00-11:00pm

5. How does BIZ Bowl Help JA ?
Money raised from this event helps provide students with the
necessary materials for volunteers to teach JA programs.
$33 – provides one JA program for 1 student
$100 – pays for JA program materials for 1 class
$500 – provides JA program materials for entire grade
$750 – sponsors the entire cost of conducting 1 program
for 1 class
$1,500 – completely funds 2 JA classes
$5,000 – provides JA program for an entire grade
$10,000 – supports “JA in a Day” for an entire school

6. How do teams raise money for BIZ Bowl?
Bowlers:
– Sell drawing tickets
– Ask everyone to donate
• Business contacts, vendors, and coworkers
• Family, friends, and neighbors
• Civic and sports affiliations
– Office bake sale, jeans day, sell school houses
– Company sponsorships
– Set up a Firstgiving page which is a secure online fundraising tool

9. How do I sign up?
Step 1: Form a Team of 5 bowlers
Step 2: Fill out a Team Registration form and fax or email it to JA
Step 3: Set and record a personal goal of $100 or more
Step 4: Start selling tickets and get pledges
Step 5: Set up your firstgiving page to get online donations
Step 6: Collect money and turn it in at your Scheduled BIZ Bowl
time
Step 7: Show up at your scheduled BIZ Bowl time
Step 8: Have a great time!!
