Horace Mann isa fantastic school, my child wasidentified with special needsearly and each teacher hasbeen phenomenal in helping her achieve success. The
staff iscaring and it isa place where community thrives. They challenge the kidsappropriately and identify issuesearly. I highly recommend thisschool to any
parent.

HM isok. Not great, just average. Many teachersneed to retire and just aren't very good. There ishardly any homeworkgiven, which in thisday and age is
unaccepable. Half the teachersdon't even knowhowto use email. The home-school communication islacking. The after school program isvery expensive. On a
positive note, the PTA issuper involved.

We have two children in the school, K and 2nd grade. We love the 'little school house' feel. Horace Mann remindsme of the great experiencesI had in
elementary school in Topsfield MA. Great teachers, very active and successful volunteerism, healthy level of parent involvement, proactive approach to
challenges, etc. Our youngest son lovesschool so much, he begsusto let him go to school even when sick! Both of our boysare simply doing great, and
surpassing levelsI never did at the same age. It'sa pleasure dropping our boysoff every day knowing they are going to have a great day, and learn more than
even they understand!

Horace Mann isthe quintessential neighborhood school. Parents/Familiesknoweach other and kidsgrowup together in a small 'village' right here in Melrose.
The staff that I have dealt with have bent over backwardsto keep parnetsinformed and happy with their children'seducationswhile the atmosphere for the
studentsisa progressive and warm. Horace Mann pridesitself on being a model school for the rest of Massachusetts. Both of my children have excelled at Horace
Mann. I did very well there too, when I attended in the 70's. PTO hasalwaysbeen the backbone of thisschool and the fundraising programsare alwayspopular
and have great support. The Pumpkin Festival hasbeen a staple for almost 30years! Ultimately, you will find a supportive staff, welcoming parentsand an all
around fun school at Horace Mann.

I have two children, one isattending Horace Mann nowand the other isin the middle school.(but did go to Horace Mann K-5. The Horace Mann School isis
wonderful place! The teachersare the best. It isnot a huge school so you really can get to knowalot about the teachers, studentsand other parents. Isisa
definite learning enviroment, with a big emphasison Respect,responsbility and caring. For the last fewyearsat least one of our teachershaswon the teacher

The teachersare all professionalswho are alwaysworking hard to educate studentswith multiple learning styles. Academic achievement isextremely important
to all. Relating learning to real world scenarioskeepsthe studentsengaged while having fun learning. The Principal, Teachersand other Staff encourage a
positive environment for learning and respecting othersdifferencesand similarities. I am pleased with the academic education and environment that my
daughter experiencesat thisschool.

'I have two children both of them are out of Horace Mann nowand in the Middle school they are both doing and excellent job because Horace Mann has
enhanced their mindsin a way no one even notices. They make learing fun but in a productive way! I would give Horace Mann 5 starsout of 5!!
