 If there is then greater demand for
admission than there are places
available, the following criteria will be
applied in the order set out below:
Admissions Policy
Category 1
Looked-after children and children who were
previously looked after, but ceased to be so
because, immediately after being looked
after, they became subject to an adoption,
child arrangements or special guardianship
order
Category 2
Families who have exceptional medical or
social needs that make it essential that their
child attend Marlow Church of England Infant
School rather than any other. These needs
must be fully supported by written evidence
from the appropriate professional person
involved with the family.
Admissions Policy
Category 3

catchment area and with a sibling on the roll
of the school or at Holy Trinity Junior School

Admissions Policy
 Proximity of the child’s home will serve
to differentiate between children in
criteria i to vi should the need arise
 In the event of there being more
applicants than places in criteria iv or
v then children with a parent able to
satisfy the requirements vi would take
priority
Catchment Area
 Our catchment area remains the same
 Foxes Piece School and Burford School
each share part of our catchment area
 What does this mean?
◦ You have a choice of catchment school
◦ Put the school that you would like your child to
go to first – This is IMPORTANT
◦ If you do not get a place in our school and you
are in our catchment, you will be ranked within
the catchment of one of the other catchment
schools but only if you have listed them as a
preference
Will we be offered a place?
In 2017 we had 197 applications for 60 places,
of which 78 were first preference. In April 2017
places were allocated to:
 Looked after children(1)
 Children who live in catchment with a
sibling on roll at Sandygate or Holy Trinity
(25)
 In catchment to a distance of 0.552 miles
(34)
School Admission Timeline
 Application to County using the online portal
 Submit address evidence (eg utility bill)
 Submit any other additional information
 Deadline for applications 3pm 12th January
 Deadline for change of address information to
be considered in Round 1 29th January
 Need to give consideration when ranking
schools
 Strongly recommend you get proof that your
application was received before the closing
date
School Admissions
 County send the school a list of all the
children who have listed Sandygate as one
of their preferences
 Governors of the school meet to rank
children in accordance with the admissions
policy
 15 April County inform parents which
school they have been allocated
 Children who do not get their preference
have the option of going on a waiting list
Useful links and information

them to settle into their new year group and
adapt to new environments quickly.

 Transition day
 Home visits
 Parent presentation (June)
The next step…
 Holy Trinity Junior School is our linked

children are well prepared to make the
transition successfully

junior education

Editor's Notes

  1. Last year we worked with our staff children and parents to revise our vision and aims. We also have 6 values at the heart of what we do – trust, respect, perseverance, forgiveness, kindness and thankfulness, concentrating on one each half term throughout the school
  2. Love for children Pleasure in seeing the enjoyment children have in their learning and reaching their targets Making sure that each child reaches their full potential
  3. Trips taken last year – brighton sea life centre, coam, pizza express, Christmas, Java performance Health and safety day, eco events
  4. JH/CC/PFA/Govs
  5. Have gone out further since the allocations to one out of catchment with a sibling and denominational preference
  6. Love for children Pleasure in seeing the enjoyment children have in their learning and reaching their targets Making sure that each child reaches their full potential
