CASE STUDY ON
MORELE GONE BURST
OPENING CASE
• Vijay, an m.com and an icwai joined the
finance department of a bangalore-
based electric company (unit-1) which
boasts of an annual turnover of rs.40 cr
• He is smart ,intelligent and introduced
several new system in record keeping
and was responsible for cost reduction
in many areas
• He also missed promotions 4 times though
he richly deserved them
• Gm finance saw to it that vijay was shifted
to unit where he was posted in purchasing.
though he never had interest on it.
• Vijay introduced new systems in
purchasing particularly in vendor
development. being honest himself, vijay
ensured that nobody else made money
through questionable means
• After 2years in purchasing vijay was
shifted to stores.from finance to purchasing
to stores was too much for vijay to swallow
• He burst out before the unit head and
unable to control his anger vijay pu in his
papers too. the unit head was against this
and forwarded the papers to the vp finance
(unit-1)
• The vp finance called in vijay, advised him
not to lose heart assured his interests
would be taken care of and requested him
to resume his duties in purchasing (unit-2)
• Vijay assured no actions would be taken
on the papers he had put in
• Six months passed by then came the
time of effect promotions. the list of
promotees was announced, vijay found
that his name was missing
• Vijay was angered and met the unit
head who coolly told him that he could
collect his dues and pack off to his
house for good. it was a great betrayal
for vijay.
• Dinesh,a young executivein softtech ltd.,
has become irritable,unpopular with
colleagues and subordinates and a
problem for a boss
• Where his performance has started to
decrease
• What is surprisingly is just 3 months back
dinesh was quite opposite of all these
CLOSING CASE
• He was a brilliant track record with a
gold medal from a prestigious school, he
had proved instant success in his area
that is finance
• He has revamped the cost and
budgetary control systems, and created
a reliable and efficient management
information system,dinesh recevied
awards
• All of a sudden he has gone to pieces
several things transpired against dinesh
 HIS ONLY SON HAS TURNED OUT
TO BE A SPASTIC CHILD
1. How would the knowledge of OB help
describe these sudden happenings in
the life of dinesh?

2. Compare the character of dinesh with

* Deserved to promotion.

OPENING CASE • Vijay, an m.com and an icwai joined the finance department of a bangalore- based electric company (unit-1) which boasts of an annual turnover of rs.40 cr • He is smart ,intelligent and introduced several new system in record keeping and was responsible for cost reduction in many areas
  • 4. • He also missed promotions 4 times though he richly deserved them • Gm finance saw to it that vijay was shifted to unit where he was posted in purchasing. though he never had interest on it. • Vijay introduced new systems in purchasing particularly in vendor development. being honest himself, vijay ensured that nobody else made money through questionable means
  • 5. • After 2years in purchasing vijay was shifted to stores.from finance to purchasing to stores was too much for vijay to swallow • He burst out before the unit head and unable to control his anger vijay pu in his papers too. the unit head was against this and forwarded the papers to the vp finance (unit-1) • The vp finance called in vijay, advised him not to lose heart assured his interests would be taken care of and requested him to resume his duties in purchasing (unit-2)
  • 6. • Vijay assured no actions would be taken on the papers he had put in • Six months passed by then came the time of effect promotions. the list of promotees was announced, vijay found that his name was missing • Vijay was angered and met the unit head who coolly told him that he could collect his dues and pack off to his house for good. it was a great betrayal for vijay.
