This document describes a youth social entrepreneurship competition on peace. The competition aims to develop entrepreneurial skills in children and young people to promote peaceful living. Participants submit ideas for social enterprises focused on peacebuilding, and the top 30 ideas will receive grants and training to implement their projects. Winning teams can receive up to $150 in seed funding distributed in two installments to achieve their objectives. The goal is to unlock creative solutions to social problems and foster interfaith harmony through enterprise.

14. Youth Social Enterprise Competition on
Peace
• It is launched to unleash and unlock the entrepreneurial talents of children
for peaceful living.
• From this competition, the children and young people are provided an
opportunity to start an enterprise on peace, get an access to capital and
sell their products and services.
• The competition teaches the basic principles of an enterprise development
to young people by a hands-on approach.
• The social enterprise competition on peace will encourage children to use
music, sports, media (videos) and information technology while designing
and delivering creative and innovative peace projects that focus on
tolerance, conflict resolution, reconciliation and developing interfaith
harmony.
15. Youth Social Enterprise Competition on
Peace
• The top three ideas from each of the 10 selected institutions will be
provided grants to carry out their projects on peace building or
conflict resolution. A total of 30 ideas will be selected. Students will
be encouraged to work individually or in teams of up to five
members.
16. Selection of Ideas
• The selection of the ideas will be done by the school management and YES against the
following criteria:
• Problem Statement: What is the problem? What if the problem remains unaddressed?
What good will it prevent, what opportunity it brings?
• Mission and Vision: What change in the community would you ultimately want to see?
Imagine what the community would be if the problem is solved.
• Theory of Change: What is your theory of change? How the outcomes of your activities
lead ultimately to your desired social impact
• Solution: What is your solution (products and services)? How do your solution
innovatively remove the pain and solve the peace problem?
• Social Impact: What is your ultimate desired social change? How do you measure your
social impact?
• Team: Who are your core team?
• Financial Summary: What is your financial need? How will you sustain (make money)?
17. Winning Prize
• The winning teams will be provided training and seed funding up to
Pak Rupees 25,000. The seed funding will be provided in two
installments. The first installment of 50% will be provided at the time
of selection of idea. The final installment of 50% will be paid after
careful review of the progress made to achieve the objectives of the
idea.
The projects of the winning teams will be featured at the local and
international platforms.
18. Next Step
• Orientation Sessions with Students: Teachers will conduct sessions
with the students to create awareness about the concept of social
entrepreneurship and Youth Social Enterprise Competition on Peace.
These awareness raising sessions will be conducted by the teachers to
orient and inspire at-least 300 students to submit their ideas for
change.
