1. The blue circle was
me in my first
workshop learning
the Horton
technique. Learning
this helped me
improve upon my
skills of flexibility,
balance spatial
awareness, timing
and dynamics. In this
photo I am
performing a lateral
stretch. From the
second picture
(white circle) you
can see that I had
improved upon my
skills and was able to
perform the same
movement with
more control,
Balance and
precision.
2. In these two
photos I am
carrying out the
same dance
movement, this
movement was
called flat backs.
As you can see
from the blue
circle my first time
performing this I
was struggling
with, my balance
and accuracy. As
you can see from
my second lesson
(white circle) I
improved upon
those skills greatly
and was able to
make this position
move, to do this I
bent down and
descended to the
floor.
3. This was a workshop
where I and my
ensemble started to
sing Seasons of love
in the theatre
without the lyrics;
this helped me when
learning how to
project my voice as I
got to practice in the
theatre, in a bigger
space. It was
important for me to
sing at a volume
where I could be
heard from the back
of the theatre as I
wanted every
member of the
audience to hear me.
It also allowed me to
work on my spatial
awareness, so that I
know where to stand
on stage and that the
showcase can run
smoothly within the
‘MADD’ showcase
theme.
4. In this photo I am
performing a leap; this
was my first attempt, as
you can see I had trouble
with my balance and the
placement of my arms as
they needed to be
extended and strong. To
improve upon those
skills I made sure I
focused on the extension
of my arms and then
performed the leaps,
allowing myself to get
higher and higher with
each jump. You can see
me do this on the photo
underneath. This
enabled me to focus on
my technique and
improve upon my skills.
5. This was one of
my Cell Block
Tango
Rehearsals, in
this rehearsal
you can see me
Wearing all black
in the middle on
a low level. This
was me and my
group trying to
put together of
beginning pose
using the mirrors
in the dance
studio. This
helped as I could
see what
improvements I
needed to make
to my posture,
height and how
to make sure I
was specially
aware.
This is in one of
my singing
lessons with Mrs
Guy, in this
lesson I learnt
How to project
and articulate my
voice, this helped
me when
learning Little
Shop of Horrors
as it was only the
five of us singing
and we didn’t
have any voices
to rely on.
