BIMTECH offers four two year full time fully residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management programmes i.e. PGDM, PGDM
(International Business), PGDM (Insurance Business Management) & PGDM (Retail Management). All these programmes are
approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The basic eligibility criteria and fee structure for different categories
are as follows :
Imp Note : CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score not necessary for Corporate and NRI sponsored categories.
QUESTION- 2 What kind of accreditation/approval these programmes at BIMTECH have ?
All these four programmes are approved by the regulatory authority AICTE. The PGDM & PGDM (International Business) are
accredited by the highest national accreditation body, National Board of Accreditation (NBA). They are also approved by
Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for MBA equivalence. For PGDM (Insurance Business Management) & PGDM (Retail
Management) programmes, MBA equivalence application is under process.
PGDM (IBM) course is accredited by globally recognized Chartered Insurance Institute of UK (CII-UK). BIMTECH has a dual degree
programme in association with CII-UK.
BIMTECH is also in the process of getting accreditation from AACSB (USA) – an internationally renowned gold standard accreditation
agency.
QUESTION- 3 What is the difference between MBA & PGDM programmes ?
MBA & PGDM are both Post Graduate Programmes in Management. In India, only universities, be it central/state/or private, are
authorized to conduct MBA programmes. The autonomous institutions approved by AICTE offer PGDM. From the point of
employability, there is no differentiation. PGDM programmes are normally found much more flexible and hence close to the
industry/recruiter’s need.
It may be noted that even IIMs offer PGDM programme only.
QUESTION- 4 What are different categories for admission at BIMTECH ?
BIMTECH has got two broad categories for admission. 90 percent seats in all programmes are filled through merit category. For the
candidates under merit category, valid score in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT and good performance in further selection stage is must.
Rest 10 percent seats are open for Corporate/NRI sponsored & NRI candidates. For these candidates, valid score in
CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT is not a mandatory condition. However they have to go for other selection process and compete among
their peer group. They also need to download the specified format from website appropriately, fill it up, get it signed and submit to
the Institute with other documents as mentioned on our website http://bimtech.ac.in/admissions/selection-criteria/.
QUESTION- 5 Can the final year Graduation students apply ?
Yes, candidates appearing in the final year examination of graduation in 2017 can apply subject to furnishing the proof of Graduation
by October 31, 2017. Non-fulfillment of this condition or not scoring 50% marks in Graduation, will automatically result in the
cancellation of provisional admission without refund of fee.
QUESTION- 6 What specializations are being offered to the Two year Full Time PGDM Programme ?
The specializations that are offered in PGDM Programme are Marketing, Finance & Banking, Human Resource and Operations & Decision Science.
QUESTION- 7 Is there any reservation for OBC/SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates ?
As such there is no reservation for any section of the candidates. However for achieving the goal of social inclusion and diversity, the candidates
from SC/ST/Minorities and physically challenged categories are given some additional weightage in calculation of the merit score.
QUESTION- 8 What is the minimum percentile required for admission ?
The cut-off is not pre-defined. It depends upon the quality & number of applications received and varies from year to year for different
programmes.
Moreover, score of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT is not the sole criteria for admission. The admission is based on the overall merit score which is
calculated on the basis of multiple inputs/factors. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score for further selection
process of written aptitude and personal interview round.
QUESTION- 9 What is the criteria for preparation of merit list and selection procedure at BIMTECH for various
programmes ?
The merit list for admission is prepared on the basis of past academic profile, CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score as applicable for different
programmes and the performance in selection process. Some additional weightage is also given to the eligible candidates on the basis of their
work experience & social profile to bring diversity and inclusiveness in the selection process. The proposed break-up of different weightages for

Selection Procedure
The steps in selection for admission at BIMTECH include:
STEP I: APPLICATION
(1) Procurement of Form: Application form (common for all the programmes) is available on our website www.bimtech.ac.in.
(2) Filling up the application form: Application form can be filled online followed by paying Rs. 1500/- through Credit/Debit Card.
STEP II: SELECTION PROCESS
The second step is of essay writing and personal interview. The candidates with suitable profile and/or having a minimum required score in
CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT are called for further selection process at different centers opted by them. This process is conducted twice by
BIMTECH. First i.e. early round, would be held tentatively in third week of December 2016 and the second in February 2017.
STEP III: RESULT
Final selection list is prepared taking into account the candidate’s:
1) Profile based score
2) Entrance test scores (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT)
3) Performance in Personal Interview and Write-up based on their respective weightages
First selection list for the candidates of early round would be declared within a week’s time after the announcement of CAT/XAT result. The second
nd
list of February round would be available by 2 week of March 2017 (tentative).
STEP IV: ADMISSION
Fee Submission:
The selected candidates are to deposit the first installment of tuition fee along with copies of required documents within the given time frame as
mentioned in offer letter to ensure their admission, failing which the offer is passed on to the waitlisted candidates. The fee for boarding &
lodging would be given separately at a later date.
Institute does not entertain any request for extension of the deadline for submission of fee.
STEP V: BEGINNING OF SESSION
Academic session of all the programmes is likely to start on Thursday, June 15, 2017 (tentative).
QUESTION- 10 What is the early round of interview ? How is it helpful to the candidates ?
It is a reality that post declaration of CAT/XAT result, all the top ranked B Schools start inviting candidates for further selection process. Many a times
these schedules clash with each other and candidates suffer. To avoid possible overlapping of selection process with other Business Schools, as in
last year, we propose to have an early round of selection process in the month of December 2016 itself on six locations. The candidates would be
invited for the early round process based on their profile as judged from their :
• Consistency and good past academic performance.
• Relevant work experience (if any) that brings value to the class room learning.
This early stage selection process provides a candidate an opportunity to appear for the process with relative ease.
Candidates need to update their entrance test percentiles (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT) in the online application form after the same are declared
for preparation of final selection list based on merit.
The second round would be conducted tentatively in third week of February 2017 pan India at 15 locations.
QUESTION- 11 Is there any arrangement/assistance in getting education loan from financial institutions ?
BIMTECH has a formal tie-up with Credila Financial Services Pvt Ltd ( A HDFC Ltd Company) & Axis Bank for providing education loans on priority
basis subject to fulfillment of their terms and documentation requirement.
BIMTECH is a reputed name in business education and almost all banks are extending loans to the candidates who are being offered admission in
various programmes.
However, Institute has no active role in arranging loan for applicants.
QUESTION- 12 Is there any scholarship offered at BIMTECH ?
Yes, a scholarship of Rs. 2,00,000 each is available by way of partial waiver of fee to the top 30 admitted candidates from merit category on the basis
of their CAT/XAT/GMAT percentile subject to a minimum benchmark of 85 percentile irrespective of their choice of the programme.
QUESTION- 13 What are the rules for refund of fee in case of cancellation of admission ?
BIMTECH strictly follows AICTE guidelines as applicable on the date of receipt of application for refund of fee in case of admission cancellation. The
present AICTE guidelines are as follows :
SITUATION REFUND
Request received before date of start of session Entire fee less Rs. 1000/- Handling Charges
Request received after joining the course & seat could be filled by the Institute Entire fee less on pro rata basis - Tuition & Hostel Fee
Request received after joining the course & seat not filled by the institute No refund
Note : This guideline is applicable only to the candidates admitted under merit category. The candidates admitted under NRI/NRI
Sponsored/Corporate Sponsored category would forfeit the entire fee should they decide to withdraw after admission.
QUESTION- 14 What are the residential facilities and hostel & mess fee ?
All the programmes offered at BIMTECH are residential and hence the admitted students are to compulsorily stay in the hostels of the Institute.
BIMTECH is located in a sprawling, fully wired, air-conditioned, Wi-Fi residential campus in Greater Noida, on the outskirts of New Delhi, the capital
city of India. The campus environment is highly conducive to academic learning. The Institute has both on & off campus hostel accommodation
with similar facilities. Girl students are provided accommodation in the hostel located in campus. Rooms are provided on single or twin sharing
basis depending upon the number and composition of the students admitted at the sole discretion of the management.
The current lodging and boarding charges for the hostel which is over and above the tuition fee are as follows :
Lodging (Hostel Rent): INR 102000 per year
Boarding (Mess Charges): INR 52800 per year
Note: These charges are subject to revision on yearly basis & are to be paid in two equal half-yearly installments in advance.

The PGDM & PGDM (International Business) are accredited by the highest national accreditation body, National Board of Accreditation (NBA). They are also approved by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for MBA equivalence. For PGDM (Insurance Business Management) & PGDM (Retail Management) programmes, MBA equivalence application is under process. PGDM (IBM) course is accredited by globally recognized Chartered Insurance Institute of UK (CII-UK). BIMTECH has a dual degree programme in association with CII-UK. BIMTECH is also in the process of getting accreditation from AACSB (USA) – an internationally renowned gold standard accreditation agency. In India, only universities, be it central/state/or private, are authorized to conduct MBA programmes. The autonomous institutions approved by AICTE offer PGDM. From the point of employability, there is no differentiation. PGDM programmes are normally found much more flexible and hence close to the industry/recruiter’s need. BIMTECH has got two broad categories for admission. 90 percent seats in all programmes are filled through merit category. For the candidates under merit category, valid score in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT and good performance in further selection stage is must. Rest 10 percent seats are open for Corporate/NRI sponsored & NRI candidates. For these candidates, valid score in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT is not a mandatory condition. However for achieving the goal of social inclusion and diversity, the candidates from SC/ST/Minorities and physically challenged categories are given some additional weightage in calculation of the merit score. QUESTION- 8 What is the minimum percentile required for admission ? The cut-off is not pre-defined. It depends upon the quality & number of applications received and varies from year to year for different programmes. Moreover, score of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT is not the sole criteria for admission. The admission is based on the overall merit score which is calculated on the basis of multiple inputs/factors. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score for further selection process of written aptitude and personal interview round. QUESTION- 9 What is the criteria for preparation of merit list and selection procedure at BIMTECH for various programmes ? The merit list for admission is prepared on the basis of past academic profile, CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score as applicable for different programmes and the performance in selection process. Some additional weightage is also given to the eligible candidates on the basis of their work experience & social profile to bring diversity and inclusiveness in the selection process. The proposed break-up of different weightages for 2017 admission cycle is as follows : S.No. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 SELECTION CRITERIA Personal Interview Write Up CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT percentile th th Past Academic Performance (10 , 12 , Graduation) *Work Experience **Regional-Eastern States (seven sisters), Southern States (Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Puducherry) and State of Jammu & Kashmir #SC/ST/Minorities/DA #Gender (Female Candidates Only) WEIGHTAGES-2017 (Merit/International Students Category) 30% 10% 30% 5% 10% 5% 5% 5% WEIGHTAGES-2017 (Other Categories) 40% 20% NA 10% 15% 5% 5% 5% * Weightages for work experience would ideally be given to a candidate only if he/she had worked in executive or supervisory role for a minimum period of one year as on 01/09/2016, in a registered company having turnover of Rs. 50 crores or more in the preceding financial year i.e. 2015-16. However, management reserves the right to relax this particular norm on the merit of the case, if the candidate is from a start-up, entrepreneurial or social organization. ** For getting regional weightage, submission of valid proof of residence is must. # Management reserves the right to make minor changes to address diversity on gender and social parameters. Selection Procedure The steps in selection for admission at BIMTECH include: STEP I: APPLICATION (1) Procurement of Form: Application form (common for all the programmes) is available on our website www.bimtech.ac.in. (2) Filling up the application form: Application form can be filled online followed by paying Rs. 1500/- through Credit/Debit Card. STEP II: SELECTION PROCESS The second step is of essay writing and personal interview. The candidates with suitable profile and/or having a minimum required score in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT are called for further selection process at different centers opted by them. This process is conducted twice by BIMTECH. First i.e. early round, would be held tentatively in third week of December 2016 and the second in February 2017. STEP III: RESULT Final selection list is prepared taking into account the candidate’s: 1) Profile based score 2) Entrance test scores (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT) 3) Performance in Personal Interview and Write-up based on their respective weightages First selection list for the candidates of early round would be declared within a week’s time after the announcement of CAT/XAT result. The second nd list of February round would be available by 2 week of March 2017 (tentative). STEP IV: ADMISSION Fee Submission: The selected candidates are to deposit the first installment of tuition fee along with copies of required documents within the given time frame as mentioned in offer letter to ensure their admission, failing which the offer is passed on to the waitlisted candidates. The fee for boarding & lodging would be given separately at a later date. Institute does not entertain any request for extension of the deadline for submission of fee. STEP V: BEGINNING OF SESSION Academic session of all the programmes is likely to start on Thursday, June 15, 2017 (tentative). QUESTION- 10 What is the early round of interview ? How is it helpful to the candidates ? It is a reality that post declaration of CAT/XAT result, all the top ranked B Schools start inviting candidates for further selection process. Many a times these schedules clash with each other and candidates suffer. To avoid possible overlapping of selection process with other Business Schools, as in last year, we propose to have an early round of selection process in the month of December 2016 itself on six locations. The candidates would be invited for the early round process based on their profile as judged from their : • Consistency and good past academic performance. • Relevant work experience (if any) that brings value to the class room learning. This early stage selection process provides a candidate an opportunity to appear for the process with relative ease. Candidates need to update their entrance test percentiles (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT) in the online application form after the same are declared for preparation of final selection list based on merit. The second round would be conducted tentatively in third week of February 2017 pan India at 15 locations. QUESTION- 11 Is there any arrangement/assistance in getting education loan from financial institutions ? BIMTECH has a formal tie-up with Credila Financial Services Pvt Ltd ( A HDFC Ltd Company) & Axis Bank for providing education loans on priority basis subject to fulfillment of their terms and documentation requirement. BIMTECH is a reputed name in business education and almost all banks are extending loans to the candidates who are being offered admission in various programmes. However, Institute has no active role in arranging loan for applicants. QUESTION- 12 Is there any scholarship offered at BIMTECH ? Yes, a scholarship of Rs. 2,00,000 each is available by way of partial waiver of fee to the top 30 admitted candidates from merit category on the basis of their CAT/XAT/GMAT percentile subject to a minimum benchmark of 85 percentile irrespective of their choice of the programme. QUESTION- 13 What are the rules for refund of fee in case of cancellation of admission ? BIMTECH strictly follows AICTE guidelines as applicable on the date of receipt of application for refund of fee in case of admission cancellation. The present AICTE guidelines are as follows : SITUATION REFUND Request received before date of start of session Entire fee less Rs. 1000/- Handling Charges Request received after joining the course & seat could be filled by the Institute Entire fee less on pro rata basis - Tuition & Hostel Fee Request received after joining the course & seat not filled by the institute No refund Note : This guideline is applicable only to the candidates admitted under merit category. The candidates admitted under NRI/NRI Sponsored/Corporate Sponsored category would forfeit the entire fee should they decide to withdraw after admission. QUESTION- 14 What are the residential facilities and hostel & mess fee ? All the programmes offered at BIMTECH are residential and hence the admitted students are to compulsorily stay in the hostels of the Institute. BIMTECH is located in a sprawling, fully wired, air-conditioned, Wi-Fi residential campus in Greater Noida, on the outskirts of New Delhi, the capital city of India. The campus environment is highly conducive to academic learning. The Institute has both on & off campus hostel accommodation with similar facilities.
