                                   Tourism in Ecuador

INTRODUCTION

Ecuador has many great tourist attraction areas that stand out for its diverse culture and rich
biodiversity, among these, the central mountains and the Amazon, rich in wealth.

The areas you visit, is characterized by oil production, logging, farming and ranching in the
Amazon region, as for the Sierra region, we have a crop, livestock and flower.

Tourism is the third line of Ecuador's foreign exchange after oil exports, remittances from
migrants and bananas. The largest number of tourists from the U.S., Europe (especially
Germany) and Latin America (mainly Colombia).

There are also domestic tourism is traveling for vacation or for business or work. In terms of
ecotourism, Ecuador offers many options due to its wide variety of environmental conditions,
creating an impressive diversity of habitats and vegetation types. Have been recorded more
than 920 attractions, of these, about 520 are natural, especially the national parks, forests,
rivers and lakes, mountains.

BODY OR MAIN PART

                                              15
Natural vegetation is mostly grass, adapted to cold soils that retain a lot of water, so the
Reserve is considered as a true "sponge" that supplies the lifeblood to the entire province of
Carchi. They are the birthplace of many rivers that eventually deposit their water in major river
basins Watch and The Angel, not in vain are considered wetter moors of Ecuador.

The areas surrounding the reserve have been deforested for agriculture and fuel wood. Thus,
the Fed tries to maintain its natural cover and protect the forests, especially frailejones, typical
landscape of this desert that dominates about 85% of its surface.

Since within the area there are private and communal properties before the creation of the
Reserve, the traditional practice of farming and livestock creates certain threats to the
ecosystems it supports. The soil cover is broken for these purposes and excessive use of
fertilizers and pesticides have polluted some rivers of the place, to all this are frequent burning
of grassland by farmers in order to prepare the soil for planting. However, these activities have
been declining steadily since the establishment of the Reserve

CONCLUSION. -

The location of tourism in the country's economy is obtained by comparing the income of
foreign currency from tourism, compared to earnings from exports of primary products,
tourism ranks fourth maintaining stable growth, while the main oil export is going through
difficult times for the low price in international markets. However this does not indicate that
tourism gets to play a more important now because as you know the future of Ecuador is in
the timber industry.

In conclusion, tourism in the country's economy is very important for the development of our
peoples.

Use of Passive

Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known,
however, who or what is performing the action.

Example: My bike was stolen.

In the example above, the focus is on the fact that my bike was stolen. I do not know,
however, who did it.

Sometimes a statement in passive is more polite than active voice, as the following example
shows:

Example: A mistake was made.

In this case, I focus on the fact that a mistake was made, but I do not blame anyone (e.g. You
have made a mistake.).

Form of Passive

Subject + finite form of to be + Past Participle (3rd column of irregular verbs)

Example: A letter was written.

When rewriting active sentences in passive voice, note the following:

the object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence
the finite form of the verb is changed (to be + past participle)
the subject of the active sentence becomes the object of the passive sentence (or is
           dropped)

Examples of Passive

Tense Subject Verb Object

Conditional II
Passive: A letter wouldhavebeenwritten by Rita.

Passive Sentences with Two Objects

Rewriting an active sentence with two objects in passive voice means that one of the two
objects becomes the subject, the other one remains an object. Which object to transform into
a subject depends on what you want to put the focus on.

Subject Verb Object 1 Object 2
Active: Rita wrote a letter to me.
Passive: A letter waswritten to me by Rita.
Passive: I waswritten a letter by Rita.
.

As you can see in the examples, adding by Rita does not sound very elegant. That’s why it is
usually dropped.

Personal and Impersonal Passive

Personal Passive simply means that the object of the active sentence becomes the subject of
the passive sentence. So every verb that needs an object (transitive verb) can form a personal
passive.

Example: They build houses. – Houses are built.

Verbs without an object (intransitive verb) normally cannot form a personal passive sentence
(as there is no object that can become the subject of the passive sentence). If you want to use
an intransitive verb in passive voice, you need an impersonal construction – therefore this
passive is called Impersonal Passive.

                                              18
Example: he says – it is said

Impersonal Passive is not as common in English as in some other languages (e.g. German,
Latin). In English, Impersonal Passive is only possible with verbs of perception (e. g. say, think,
know).

Example: They say that women live longer than men. – It is said that women live longer than
men.

Although Impersonal Passive is possible here, Personal Passive is more common.

Example: They say that women live longer than men. – Women are said to live longer than
men.

The subject of the subordinate clause (women) goes to the beginning of the sentence; the verb
of perception is put into passive voice. The rest of the sentence is added using an infinitive
construction with 'to' (certain auxiliary verbs and that are dropped).

Sometimes the term Personal Passive is used in English lessons if the indirect object of an
active sentence is to become the subject of the passive sentence.

PassiveVoice

La voz pasiva se utiliza cuando se desea expresar una acción poniendo más énfasis en el objeto
que en la persona que realiza dicha acción. Por ejemplo:

Youboilthewaterfortwo minutes.

Esta oración indica que alguien hierve el agua durante dos minutos. En la siguiente oración, sin
embargo, se expresa lo mismo pero sin importar quién realiza esa acción.

The water is boiled for two minutes.

Para formar la voz pasiva, se toma el verbo en cuestión y se lo convierte al participio pasado.
Luego se agrega el verbo to be en la conjugación y tiempo que corresponde al nuevo
sujeto.Por ejemplo:

The police rescued the boy.
The boy was rescued by the police.

agregando by delante. El complemento agente no siempre es colocado en la oración.
Solamente se agrega si es relevante.

                                                19
Veamos otros ejemplos de frases en voz pasiva:

That horse kicked me!
I was kicked by that horse!

The police arrested the thieves.
The thieves were arrested by the police.

I peel the tomatoes.
Thetomatoes are peeled.

El objeto indirecto también puede pasar a ser sujeto en la voz pasiva:

They gave me the Oscar in 1998.
I was given the Oscar in 1998.

En el último ejemplo, no es necesario colocar el complemento agente (bythem) ya que no
agrega ninguna información adicional a la oración. En cambio, en el ejemplo que sigue, se
puede colocar el complemento agente (bytheAcademy) ya que indica quién realiza la acción.

The Academy gave me the Oscar in 1998.
I was given the Oscar in 1998 by the Academy.

As you know all Bolivar, on Shrove Tuesday at 12 pm the party is
over Shrovetide everywhere. However in the new field starts.
They celebrate the peasants and Indians chagras after receiving
the tip Ash that the Catholic Church all his followers.

Longing for the happy hours during the past three days, in order
to shed the sad result that left so pleasing remembrance, all the
people who took part in the festival seeks to take the field,
rather out of town. Know where to go because at about ten
o'clock in the morning of Ash Wednesday begin to get groups of peasants on horseback,
carrying a flag, soaked guitars and drums, either powdered and drunk singing means the
Carnival which boast the most deciders and pungent verses composed by them. The same
groups of Indians in disguise, and it bleached, painted their faces with dyes, half drunk,
carrying a whip to the arm or back, also singing Carnival pingullo to the sound of a drum or a
bass drum. Each other through the city, inviting people to attend the village where they
belong.

Usually, after taking lunch, countless groups of every kind and class
are routed to the place where you know there Compadre Gallo.

visitors, etc.. In order to have precise knowledge of where this

that really has a flat side to implement the program. It is then that, seeing that there is great
competition, horse poke a few peasants carrying their respective curb and rooster under his
arm. Any of them offers the act to the crowd that has come to form a closed circle around.
Disturbing the soil and buries the cock at ground leaving only the neck and head. Then ask the
person who has sympathy, affection, whatever, to blindfold him and so decapitates his cock,
warning that failure to do the three machetes have to pay a bottle of brandy. Has been
accepted the proposal, with a large handkerchief bandage the
eye. In steps before being blindfolded, you do measure the
distance from where he is standing where the rooster. They
make you turn around three times in a position that faces the
rooster. We deliver a sharp machete. They open to the crowd

                                                24
and ordered immediate action. If bandaged, giving the returns have not been lost, is heading
for the rooster, and download one, two, three shots trying to behead him. The excitement of
the crowd that shouts excited is the thermometer so you know if the cut or bandaged head.
Had cut, it takes off the blindfold. Take the cock still kicking in the throes of death. Falling
attendance: shatters the cock and bloody prey, with the expression of "Gallo Compadre"
discharge tapping on whom they failed to take a prey. Comes the reward: a double cup or
bottle mouth make him take a drink. It sounds the music is none other than the Carnival and
break dancing, and then finishing, another owner of burying his cock for the same operation
must continue until the completion of the cocks that never drop below ten

The idea of creating food guide typically arises from the basic need for food, and to make

Furthermore Ecuador is known for its wide variety of fruits, seafood, among others, and there
is an incredible mix of Andean products with products from the coast across the country. This
mixture is also available in the Amazon jungle.

Through Ecuador will find delicious dishes where you can select national and regional recipes.
This includes one of the secrets of Ecuador.

Have been recorded more than 920 attractions, of these, about 520 are natural, especially the national parks, forests, rivers and lakes, mountains. BODY OR MAIN PART 15
  • 17. Natural vegetation is mostly grass, adapted to cold soils that retain a lot of water, so the Reserve is considered as a true "sponge" that supplies the lifeblood to the entire province of Carchi. They are the birthplace of many rivers that eventually deposit their water in major river basins Watch and The Angel, not in vain are considered wetter moors of Ecuador. The areas surrounding the reserve have been deforested for agriculture and fuel wood. Thus, the Fed tries to maintain its natural cover and protect the forests, especially frailejones, typical landscape of this desert that dominates about 85% of its surface. Since within the area there are private and communal properties before the creation of the Reserve, the traditional practice of farming and livestock creates certain threats to the ecosystems it supports. The soil cover is broken for these purposes and excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides have polluted some rivers of the place, to all this are frequent burning of grassland by farmers in order to prepare the soil for planting. However, these activities have been declining steadily since the establishment of the Reserve CONCLUSION. - The location of tourism in the country's economy is obtained by comparing the income of foreign currency from tourism, compared to earnings from exports of primary products, tourism ranks fourth maintaining stable growth, while the main oil export is going through difficult times for the low price in international markets. However this does not indicate that tourism gets to play a more important now because as you know the future of Ecuador is in the timber industry. In conclusion, tourism in the country's economy is very important for the development of our peoples. 12.-PLEASE UPLOAD YOR RESEARCHING ABOUT THE PASSIVE VOCIE 16
  • 18. CARCHI STATEPOLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY Tourism and Ecotourism School Name: Isabel Rosero Use of Passive Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known, however, who or what is performing the action. Example: My bike was stolen. In the example above, the focus is on the fact that my bike was stolen. I do not know, however, who did it. Sometimes a statement in passive is more polite than active voice, as the following example shows: Example: A mistake was made. In this case, I focus on the fact that a mistake was made, but I do not blame anyone (e.g. You have made a mistake.). Form of Passive Subject + finite form of to be + Past Participle (3rd column of irregular verbs) Example: A letter was written. When rewriting active sentences in passive voice, note the following: the object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence the finite form of the verb is changed (to be + past participle) the subject of the active sentence becomes the object of the passive sentence (or is dropped) Examples of Passive Tense Subject Verb Object Active: Rita writes aletter. Simple Present Passive: A letter iswritten by Rita. Active: Rita wrote aletter. Simple Past Passive: A letter waswritten by Rita. Active: Rita has written aletter. PresentPerfect Passive: A letter has beenwritten by Rita. Future I Active: Rita willwrite aletter. 17
  • 19. Passive: A letter will be written by Rita. Active: Rita can write aletter. Hilfsverben Passive: A letter can be written by Rita. Examples of Passive Tense Subject Verb Object Active: Rita iswriting aletter. PresentProgressive Passive: A letter isbeingwritten by Rita. Active: Rita waswriting aletter. PastProgressive Passive: A letter wasbeingwritten by Rita. Active: Rita hadwritten aletter. PastPerfect Passive: A letter hadbeenwritten by Rita. Active: Rita willhavewritten aletter. Future II Passive: A letter willhavebeenwritten by Rita. Active: Rita wouldwrite aletter. Conditional I Passive: A letter would be written by Rita. Active: Rita wouldhavewritten aletter. Conditional II Passive: A letter wouldhavebeenwritten by Rita. Passive Sentences with Two Objects Rewriting an active sentence with two objects in passive voice means that one of the two objects becomes the subject, the other one remains an object. Which object to transform into a subject depends on what you want to put the focus on. Subject Verb Object 1 Object 2 Active: Rita wrote a letter to me. Passive: A letter waswritten to me by Rita. Passive: I waswritten a letter by Rita. . As you can see in the examples, adding by Rita does not sound very elegant. That’s why it is usually dropped. Personal and Impersonal Passive Personal Passive simply means that the object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence. So every verb that needs an object (transitive verb) can form a personal passive. Example: They build houses. – Houses are built. Verbs without an object (intransitive verb) normally cannot form a personal passive sentence (as there is no object that can become the subject of the passive sentence). If you want to use an intransitive verb in passive voice, you need an impersonal construction – therefore this passive is called Impersonal Passive. 18
  • 20. Example: he says – it is said Impersonal Passive is not as common in English as in some other languages (e.g. German, Latin). In English, Impersonal Passive is only possible with verbs of perception (e. g. say, think, know). Example: They say that women live longer than men. – It is said that women live longer than men. Although Impersonal Passive is possible here, Personal Passive is more common. Example: They say that women live longer than men. – Women are said to live longer than men. The subject of the subordinate clause (women) goes to the beginning of the sentence; the verb of perception is put into passive voice. The rest of the sentence is added using an infinitive construction with 'to' (certain auxiliary verbs and that are dropped). Sometimes the term Personal Passive is used in English lessons if the indirect object of an active sentence is to become the subject of the passive sentence. PassiveVoice La voz pasiva se utiliza cuando se desea expresar una acción poniendo más énfasis en el objeto que en la persona que realiza dicha acción. Por ejemplo: Youboilthewaterfortwo minutes. Esta oración indica que alguien hierve el agua durante dos minutos. En la siguiente oración, sin embargo, se expresa lo mismo pero sin importar quién realiza esa acción. The water is boiled for two minutes. Para formar la voz pasiva, se toma el verbo en cuestión y se lo convierte al participio pasado. Luego se agrega el verbo to be en la conjugación y tiempo que corresponde al nuevo sujeto.Por ejemplo: The police rescued the boy. The boy was rescued by the police.
I was kicked by that horse! The police arrested the thieves. The thieves were arrested by the police. I peel the tomatoes. Thetomatoes are peeled. El objeto indirecto también puede pasar a ser sujeto en la voz pasiva: They gave me the Oscar in 1998. I was given the Oscar in 1998. En el último ejemplo, no es necesario colocar el complemento agente (bythem) ya que no agrega ninguna información adicional a la oración. En cambio, en el ejemplo que sigue, se puede colocar el complemento agente (bytheAcademy) ya que indica quién realiza la acción. The Academy gave me the Oscar in 1998. I was given the Oscar in 1998 by the Academy. PassiveVoiceStructure Active Voice PassiveVoice They make Fords in Cologne. Fords are made in Cologne.
