5. Foundation seed
• Progeny of nucleous/breeder seed
• Produces by recognized seed producing agencies (public and private
sector)
• Supervision of seed certification agencies like SCA
• Quality is maintained according to prescribed field ad seed standards
• Not as pure as the nucleus and breeder’s seeds
• Tag: White colour certificate
• Foundation seeds can be multiplied at stage 1 & 2

6. Registered Seed
• Progeny of foundation seed
• Raised from nucleus, breeders or foundations seeds
• Produced by progressive formers or registered seed growers
according to technical advice and supervision provided by NSC
