Effects Breakdown

1. BLOOD SHOT EYE
EFFECT
To make this effect I used two layers which was a
splatter png and the actual video this was
because I only needed to place the splatter over
the eye and I had to use mask tools to make sure
it doesn’t go over the mask so then that way it
makes the splatter look real. I also had to use
some key frames and get the blood splatter to
follow my actors eye because it kept going of the
screen.
When I eventually found the button for the png
to follow the target I kept tinkering with different
positions and got used to the tracking tool I had
to get it perfect for the effect to work because I
feel like the blood splatter over the map looks
weird. I done the red effect over the top of the
video in Adobe Premier Pro and the zoom in
effect using it.

2. FIRE EFFECT
To make this effect I found a green screened fire
effect of YouTube this was because I didn’t know
how to make fire from scratch as an effect. I only
needed two layers for the fire effect because I
used the video in the background and got rid of
the green screen using Chromakey this is so you
can see the background and it will look like its
part of the real world.
I needed the fire to follow the actor a bit because
I needed it to look real. I also did edit the other
actors arm through the fire so it looks like the
fire is in front of him this was because it
would’ve looked like the went through him and
burned him too.

3. PHONE CALL EFFECT
I only needed to make a green screened phone
timer this was to show that the call Bill received
was a unknown caller this is to build suspense
but this was also because the viewers can see
how long the call lasts.
I didn’t need to use the video for this effect
because I made a green screened phone call
timer this was just because I dragged it into
Adobe Premier Pro and used chromakey this was
because it was more easier to find in premier
and it worked as well because you couldn’t just
drag the clip from Adobe After Effects.

4. TITLE SEQUENCES
I used Apple Motion to make these title
sequences this was because its easier to make
the titles in Apple Motion and its more better at
being able to add extra effects like going behind
or past the text.
I made four title sequences this was because I
put my name on one of the titles and then for
the next I put a disclaimer saying ”No one was
hurt in the making.” I also added in ”Not based
on a true story” and the title of the film The
Burnt Face. I used the same font and I just
changed the text after rendering the titles. It was
more faster to change the text than remaking
the movement. I had to change the gradients on
the text because some of them didn’t suit the
style of the film I got a perfect font for the movie
as well.
