Which pet to choose and how to care
for it afterward?
Which pet to choose? Pets bring a lot of joy and love to our lives,
but their purchase should be well thought out. We give you how
much they cost, how long they live, and how to care for pets such
as budgerigars, guinea pigs, miniature rabbits, hamsters, or dogs
and cats.
2. What pet to choose when dreaming of a companion? Never fall in
love with certain species (such as the pygmy hedgehog) and
breeds (such as the French bulldog) until you are familiar with their
requirements and care. A pet is not supposed to be a toy or a whim
- it is supposed to be a friend for many years, so you need to check
carefully what you need and what conditions you can provide a new
household member.

3. Which pet to choose?
Choosing the right pet depends on whether you are ready to say
goodbye to him after a few years or if you want him to accompany
you for a very long time. In addition, you need to think about
finances and caring for him. If you travel often, it will be rather
difficult for you to look after a pet that requires absolutely daily care
and cannot be left alone for more than a day.
Dogs and cats usually live for several years, while hamsters,
rabbits, guinea pigs, and budgerigars are only a few. Therefore, it is
worth considering whether you are ready to take on the
responsibility of caring for them. This is a new member of the
household - you need to familiarize yourself with the likes and
habits of a given pet - e.g. if you dream of a budgerigar, know that it
hates loneliness and it is worth choosing two individuals.
Unfortunately, when one dies, the other dies right after it.
Also, consider that the budget is important (include not only the
price of the pet but also its maintenance and potential treatment). It
also matters how much time you plan to spend with your pet
4. A dog, a cat, or maybe fish or coffee?
If you want a pet, you can choose a dog or a cat, or choose fish or a
rodent (e.g. hamster, guinea pig or rat). Each of these animals
requires different care and feeding, so you need to think carefully
about your choice.
The least demanding are the fish in the aquarium, but you should
remember about regular cleaning and changing the water. You also
need to stick to proper feeding times. Much more attention needs to
be paid to cavies, i.e. guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, chinchillas, or
birds.
5. If you want a cat to live in your home, you must reserve at least an
hour a day for it, which you will spend on grooming, feeding, and
playing. By far, dogs require the most time, because of about 2-5
hours a day, sometimes even more.
Of course, every pet requires all-day care, while special care or
feeding/walking may take more or less time.
Which pet to choose for duties?
Communing with a pet at home gives a lot of pleasure and joy, but it
is also associated with everyday duties. You must remember about
regular feeding, cleaning, care treatments (eg brushing the hair,
trimming nails, bathing), routine visits to the veterinarian, and in
case of illness - examinations and administration of medications.
6. Rodents usually get sick less often than dogs or cats, and they do
not require frequent vaccinations . However, they must have their
cage and all its components cleaned regularly, as well as the
bedding, replaced. The cat, on the other hand, is considered a very
clean animal, but it requires regular cleaning of the litter box and
cleaning of the hair left behind, as well as combing the pet (it is
worth remembering that not every cat or dog willingly undergoes
this procedure).
