2. Dr Jonathan Isserow
Dr Jonathan trained in art psychotherapy and psychotherapy from the
University of Hertfordshire and Tavistock Clinic, and completed a PhD at UCL.
He has taught extensively both nationally and internationally. Prior to moving
to higher education he spent 10 years working in adult mental health as well
as child and adolescent psychiatric services in the NHS.
Jonathan’s approach is to enable a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic space
to begin to explore and possibly transform areas of difficulty as well as deepen
the understanding of self. He draws on a broad theoretical frame to inform and
meet the needs of each individual person he works with.
Qualifications: BA FA (Hons), PG Dip Art Therapy, MA Psychoanalytic studies,
PhD UCL. HCPC registered (AS01476). Member of BAAT.

8. This programme provides a well-rounded development for integrative relational practitioners which
covers a wide range of psychological issues in a variety of settings. You will be encouraged to explore
psychological processes and experiences from these different perspectives, and recognise the
theoretical, personal and cultural assumptions which influence your work.

perspectives, and recognise the theoretical, personal and cultural assumptions which influence your work. As
well as cognitive and reflective skills, you will also learn practical ways of working with your clients in a
therapeutic relationship to address conscious and unconscious needs and produce a change in emotional and
cognitive processes and behaviour. This involves integrating complex and advanced skills, and responding
creatively to complex, novel and unpredictable situations.

association dedicated for all practitioners in the
healthcare sector who are keen to be part of
this big family of helping professionals.
Although most of us in the association are
psychotherapist, psychologist, counsellor, or
social worker, we welcome other healthcare
professional to join us. Thus, the approach to
meet the individual or family in a holistic

You are required to be in personal therapy throughout the course, which will
help you to develop a high level of awareness of self and the therapeutic
process, to be able to use this constructively in therapeutic encounters.

Taught by means of interactive lectures and seminars, experiential skills workshops, small clinical
supervision groups, and personal development work. Much of your learning will be by a process of
reflection on the experience of skills practiced and the use of demonstration, observation, self, peer and
tutor feedback as well as a more traditional academic study
