Komi Agbokou of the Interprofessional Council of Coffee and Cocoa in Togo discusses opportunities for youth and women in the coffee sector in Togo. Coffee is the second most important agricultural product in Togo after cotton, with production of 2400 tons in 2020/2021 from 38,058 hectares farmed by 31,203 families. The coffee sector contributes significantly to Togo's economy and provides many jobs. Agbokou argues that the entire coffee value chain can empower women and youth by generating incomes and jobs while also providing dignity and hope for the future.
