1. Discussing the quote by Jawaharlal Nehru given under the picture- “The Future
belongs to science and those who make friends with science”.
In future science will control the destinies of people of all nations. It is science alone that can solve
the problems of hunger, poverty, insanitation, illiteracy, vast resources running to waste,
superstitions and deadening custom and traditions.
2. Introducing the author of Newton’s Law.
Born in Calcutta, Nandita as grew up in Banglore as the second of the three sisters in her family. A
good athlete in her school days with a liking for sports and books, she made reading her greatest
passion.While at college, her poem “Stale-mate” was published in an anthology by The Poets
International Organisation in 1991. She is a graduate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. She is
an avid reader and Collects books.

4. DISCUSSION
The teacher shows an image on a flashcard and asks
some thought provocative questions to elicit
response. Each group is required to write their
responses. Students (in groups) are provided with
activity cards to write their points (ideas) on it.
Tr:
1. Can you identify the instrument which is
used to watch the sky?
2. What are the children in the picture doing?
3. How can you connect the quote with the
picture?
Students in group might provide the expected
answers. Or else teacher acts as a facilitator and add
on to the response of the students.
Tr: What improvement in technology and science is

Teacher may lead the learners to predict the future of
science in the next decade.
Teacher may ask the learners to come out with their
own predictions first and then the teacher provides
