2. Calcium metabolism:-
 calcium in the diet
 move into the intestine
 Absorbtion of calcium from intestine by the action of Vit-
D
 Store in bone ,muscles and all tissue
 At the time of egg shell formation
 Calcium from bones is resorbed by action of PTH AND
transport to shell gland

4.  Calcium homeostasis :-
 It is the maintanance of constant calcium level
{50mg/100mL} in the blood.
 It is controlled by hormones PTH and Calcitonin
and vitamin D.

8. Egg shell formation :-
 It takes place in shell gland or uterus.
 It takes around 20 hours.
 Formation of egg is maximum during afternoon.

12. Requirement of calcium to layers:-
 Layer ration shoud contain 4% of calcium.
 Since 95% of shell is made up calcium
carbonate.
 55grams of egg contain 2.0-2.2grams of
calcium.

13.  Efficiency of calcium utilization from diet is 55-
60%.
 Hence supply of 3.3 gram fulfill the 2-2.2gm of
egg calcium.
 It may be in form of oyster grit or calcite grite
 Or direct calcium carbonate.
