ENGINEERING POINT OF VIEW
 Conductors of electricity means Electric current carrying materials
 High conductivity of the metal is associated with free or conduction of
electrons
 Heat developed in the conductors
 Super-conductors

 Electrical insulation between tow media at different potential
 Main function is insulation
 Polarization
 Large number of gaseous, liquid and solid insulating materials are available
Magnetic Materials:
 Since loadstones were recognized 3000 years ago
 Degree of reaction by magnetic materials
 Classes of magnetic materials
