2. Rowing
Rowing has been a occupation I have been involved in for three years,
when I was at high school. It is an occupation I enjoy very much, but
has been hard to be able to participate whilst being in Dunedin. Its an
occupation which you work in a team with others which I did or by
yourself.
3. Rugby
I was involved in
rugby for two years
at high and it was
important sport for
me to be involved
in as the time
requirements suited
boarding school
life. I have been
unable to continue
playing rugby but
will try to play
again in the future.
4. Bartender
I work in a bar/restaurant when I am
at home. This occupation is both
important for the reasons of its my
paid employment which is funding
my study's but I also get to meet lots
of different people and cultures
when I'm working.
5. Barista
I also work in a café, were I’m a barista.
This occupation is another of my
productivity occupations that I do part
time on my holidays. I have learnt many
skills working as a barista such as making
coffees and learning different skills and
techniques but also working in a team
with the other staff has been great
experience.
6. Snowboarding
Growing up in
Queenstown the snow
capital of New Zealand
it was expected that I
would either ski or
snowboard. I have been
involved in
snowboarding ever
since I was in year 3, as
it was an occupation
we did once a week
through school in the
winter, I have since
continued outside of
school and keep it as
my leisure activity in the
winter time.
7. Yoga
Yoga is a new occupation to
me that I have just recently
started in. I'm enjoying learning
about the different types of
yoga and the different postures
there are. I find yoga to be very
relaxing and calming and it has
been helpful to practice when
I'm stressing about assessments
and just need a break from
studying.
8. sKids
sKids is a after school, and school holiday program that I have begun working
at this year. It has been amazing that I have been able to find a job that I love
and it has helped build my skills with working with children even more. This
occupation is extremely important to me as I love working with children and
helping them learn and be creative.
9. Netball
I was involved with completive
netball for a number of years in
primary and high school. Now I
am involved in social netball
through OUSA. It’s a great way to
catch up with friends and do a bit
of exercises. Its also get being
able to still be involved In a sport
in a social way, even though its
just about more competitive then
normal competitive netball.
10. Student
I guess you have to say being a student is biggest occupation im involved in
at the moment. This occupation is important to me as its getting me into the
career I wish to work in. its been a great way to make new friends and meet
new people and learn new skills which have all helped shape the
occupational being that I am.
11. Family and Friends
Whether I'm a sister, daughter,
granddaughter, cousin, friend.
All these roles In my life are
important and my family and
friends have all helped me
become who I am and get me
to where I want to be in life.
