1. From the Founder's Desk Vol:VIII No: 2 May 2017
Dear Friends,
Last month, I got the opportunity to
participate in a unique program ” BUDDHA
CEO” organized by Pyramid Valley
International held on 22nd and 23rd April
2017 at their premises. The program was
conducted by Brahmarshi Subhash Patriji himself. The
other speakers were Dr. Newton Kondaveti and Dr. Lakshmi,
Founders of Life Research Academy and Dr. B K Chandra
Shekhar of SIGFA Solutions.
The target group for the program included CEOs of
Companies, Business Leaders, Heads of Organizations
involved in Social Work, Heads of NGOs, Heads of
Government Organizations and Departments and all others in
similar positions. The workshop was aimed to empower
CEOs with spiritual confidence, spiritual service mind-set and
a general spirituo-scientific attitude required to be successful
in whatever new creative tasks they aspire to take up. In simple
terms, the workshop was meant for awakening the Buddha
within us.
Meditation was also part of the workshop. AnaPanaSati
Meditation was conducted by Brahmarshi Patriji. The word
‘Anapanasati’ in Pali language means to direct one’s total
attention and awareness only on one’s normal, natural
breathing process. ‘ana’ means ‘in-breath’, ‘apana’ means ‘out-
breath’ and ‘sati’ means ‘be-one-with’. In ‘Anapanasati’,
attention of the mind should constantly be on the normal,
natural breath. The task on hand is effortless, joyful oneness
with the breath.
No ‘mantra’ is to be chanted, no form of any ‘deity’ is to be
entertained in the mind, no hatha yoga or pranayama practices
like ‘kumbhaka’ - holding the breath - is involved.
Any comfortable sitting posture can be taken. The posture
should be as comfortable as possible. Hands should be clasped
and all fingers intertwined; eyes should be closed.
The crux of the matter is to resist, to the best of our abilities,
the routine wandering of the mind. All STRAY THOUGHTS
SHOULD BE CUT right away, as and when they keep arising.
“When we are with the breath-energy, the mind becomes
rather empty. Then, there is a tremendous in-flow of cosmic
energy into the physical body. Gradually, the hitherto dormant
third-eye begin to become activated. And, by and by, cosmic
consciousness get to be experienced.” Meditation leads us
to MINDFULNESS for material progress and
MINDFREENESS for Spiritual Progress.
Guided Meditation in the presence of Brahmarshi Patriji was
an amazing experience. In simple words, it was just watching
our own breathing. Poojya Swami Dayananda Saraswathi
used to call this as “Prana Vikshana” - watching our own
breath. It brings us to the present moment and energizes us.
Breathing is such a powerful tool. It is the MOST
IMPORTANT thing in life. If you have any other priorities, just
stop breathing for a few seconds and see what happens -
definitely you will agree with me then.
In this issue, we have covered an article on “Healing through
Breathing” which deals with the powerful technique of
breathing - popularly known as “Three Step Rhythmic
Breathing”.
We have also covered an article on “Healing with Colours”.
Hope you will find them interesting.
