The band logo must be unique, meaningful to the band, and clearly represent their brand image and genre of music. The font is gothic with an unusual "S" making it distinctive and easily recognizable. The colors of white, light grey, and subtle blue tie into the band's video and reflect that their messages have ulterior motives beneath the surface. The cracked stone texture reinforces the heavy genre while also implying the band feels society is shattered or they have been cracked by society.
2. Overview Deciding what logo a band should have is not as simple as picking a font which looks cool and running with it. A bands logo will be the thing fans recognise them by, hence it should be unique and have significant meaning to the band The denotations and connotation of the logo must be deliberate and back the bands brand image
3. Font The font is very gothic making genre easy to identify. It is also a very unusual especially the “S” making it distinctive as the bands logo and easy to recognise for those familiar with the band
4. Colour The colour is a white/light grey with subtle blues creeping through. The drop shadow is almost black with hints of teal The colours tie in to the snowy colours of the video and also set the colour them of the band. The logo isn’t simple black and white like some of the ones in my research. This is to reflect the fact the band do not have simple messages and that ulterior motives lie beneath the surface of the “truth”
5. Texture The cracked stone texture again reinforces the genre as well as carrying the denotation that this is a heavy type of music (powerful enough to shatter rock) It also, however, carries the connotation that this band feel they are living in a shattered society, or that they themselves have been cracked by the society they live in
