3. HYPERSENSITIVITY (Immunological Reaction)-It
refers to a set of undesirable immune reactions
produced by the normal immune system includes
allergy and immune response.
HYPERSENSITIVITY REACTIONS-When a state of
altered reactivity in which the body reacts with an
exaggerated immune response to a foreign agent.
OR
When an immune response result in exaggerated OR
in appropiate reactions harmful to the host the term
hypersensitivity OR allergy used.
23. This is the additional type of hypersensitivity that is
specially used as a distinction from type-II.
Instead of binding to cell surfaces , the antibodies
recognize and bind to cell surface receptors , which
either prevents the intended ligand binding with
receptors with the receptor or mimics the effects of
the ligand thus impairing cell signaling.
