The expression "work–life
balance" was first used in the United
Kingdom in the late 1970s to
describe the balance between an
individual's work and personal life.
In the United States, this phrase
was first used in 1986.
G.H and his colleagues (2003) define work- family
balance/work-life balance as;
“Degree to which an individual is equally engaged and
equally satisfied with his or her work role and family
role”.
“Work–life balance is a theory includes right
prioritizing between "work" (career and ambition)
and "lifestyle" (health, enjoyment,
relaxation, family and religious
growth/consideration)”.

There are two biggest work-life
balance problems that are:
People with not enough work or
income.
People who have too much work
but the low paid.
We consider here two positive effects are:
•First, that work-life balance improves individuals’ health, comfort and job
satisfaction.
•Second, that business can benefit from work-life balance because these

Reduce bad health
Increase retention rates for capable workers and cut replacement costs
