2. My name is Anthony Williams and I am the next
generation of entertainment business owners in
CT. I am looking to use my dance skill and
business knowledge to open an art center in my
hometown, focusing on the growth and
promotion of the arts community I come from.
My goal is to create a space for budding artist to
develop, showcase, and expand their skills at
home. I want to partner with the community to
promote and uplift our arts. My city is filled with
life, vibrance, and great minds and unfortunately
the negative stigmas tend to be placed as our
focus. I am looking to change the we are seen.
I’d like to be the person and place I didn’t see
when I was younger that I could have
desperately used and Im sure many others can
benefit from.

There isn’t often required anything for the positions I would be looking to hire for
“teachers”. Most times what happens is a teacher is selected based on successful
completion of a trial period. Where they are trained in their position and then
given a timeline to complete. If they are not successful during that period their
stipend ends and the selection process continues. Skills that would be valuable to
me would be a candidate that was outgoing, organized, had some prior dance
experience, and passion for helping others.
7. I help people become more fulfilled by
facilitating the exploration of their creative
selves through movement and the arts ,
while providing a community to support and
guide them.

•Full social bronze certification with both
Arthur Murray and D’vida syllabus.
•NDCA Member
• Entertainment Business, B.S., Full Sail University (2023)

9. COMPETITION
So this one is a bit hard because there isn’t a place like what I am
envisioning in my area. There are dance studios like (Studio eight
sixty, Steps in Time, Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray) but 2 are
franchises and therefor bound by those rules and only able to offer
so much and the second two while independent still wouldn’t offer
the same experience I am looking to provide. Another reason why I
think Hartford would be such a great place for an idea like this is
because there aren’t very many art avenues and especially black art.
I honestly feel like my biggest competition may be a place called
“The artist collective” however they focus mainly on African dance
which still gives me a leg up being that my background and the
backgrounds of most of my staff will be hip hop, modern, ballet,
flamenco, ballroom, or theatre.
10. BRAND POSITION
For anyone who is looking to explore the creative facets
of their life, while having a bit of fun, I provide a safe
and welcoming space to learn, grow, smile and connect
with other like minded individuals. The goal being to
further promote the enjoyment and beauty of arts in our
communities because I believe in the talent that resides
there.
