BACKGROUND
Domestic violence against women
is one of the most sharp and “silent”
social topics of today Belarus.
According to the Institute of
Sociology’s research, about 50% of
women in age 15-55 had
experience of at least one type of
partner violence.
STARTING POINT
Our case is silence among the
witnesses – it is one of the most
powerful factor defining the level of
crimes based on violence. People
prefer not to interfere in fear of
being shamed.
THE GOAL
Our goal is to show that talking about
violence is normal and a need,
focusing on the increasing of
awareness of the problem among
the TA (m/w aged 18 – 44 y.o.).

Our strategy is based on using of art and IT instruments. Inspiring
by the slogan “No Silence For Violence” we’ve developed a
campaign of 3 stages.
1. Launch of a neural network app to identify the options of actions
in case of violence. A special press event dedicated to it. The
concept form is “blind” performance with domestic violence
hearable scenes. Multiple “blind” shows for everyone by
registration. Research of the actor’s reaction. Interactive
information point in the city center.
2. Publications in media on the next points: a) app launch, b) start
of the show c) results of the research and the spreading of the
information about the app.
3. Business engagement. In November 25, the International Day for
the Elimination of Violence against Women, we’ll propose all the
large Belarusian brands (e.g. velcom, TUT.by, etc.) to stick a white
ribbon on their logo saying: “We are not silent”.

E X E C U T I O N
The news event: The launch of the neural network
Press conference. The event is to be hold in totally dark space. Before the start of the performance all the
attendants will be blindfolded and given the instructions: in any moment they can influence the action.
The audience (journalists and OL) sit on the stage. The actors tell them the stories of the relationships of their
characters, paying attention on the moment when everything went wrong. The audience hear how the characters
fight and beat each other. From time to time everything goes in silence when the male partner tells a woman that he
loves her.
The aim of the performance is to get the viewers in a simulated situation of being a witnesses of a conflict, as if it
was heard through a flat’s wall. When one of the participants takes off a blindfold, the action stops.

E X E C U T I O N
Neural network: solution for everyone
The idea: our proposal is to develop the instrument not only for transpiring the idea that domestic violence shouldn’t
be silent, but for helping to easy-to-use change the situation. The online neural network will tell the user step-to-step
how to act in their case, as well as in the position of a witness.
Solving the problem: in case the witness is afraid of calling to the police of uncertain in what to do next to prevent
the acts of violence in the future, he or she can easily use an online-platform anonymously. Based on neural network,
the system, uniting hotlines, shelters, police and the UNFPA, will analyze the request and direct it to the appropriate
institution.
Execution: the engagement of the Belarusian IT-developer (Epam, Wargaming, Itransition) to create a neural network
system under special conditions for CSR projects. To cover the expenses we will offer the collaboration with business.
The neural network will be able to analyze the cases of victims and aggressors from the both sides.
Details: key questions will include from 5 to 8 stages. The result will include a set of actions useful in a particular
case, including requests of the law enforcement institutions expertize – in case of user’s readiness to act and with a
need to confirm the sending of a request (the option is also based on the results of the test.

PERFORMANCE INFO POINTKOLMEDIA PROMOTION
The performance gets available for
everyone. By the registration, any
person can take part in the immersive
play dedicated the problem of
domestic violence and choose the role
and experience the situation from
different sides.
Interactive information point. An
extra news event is the installation
of an interactive system board in the
city center. Any person will get the
opportunity to use the app even if
she/he doesn’t have an access to
the internet.
Media-release spreading. The
text gives the information of the
app and brief statistics of the
partner violence against women
in the Republic of Belarus.
OL-s engagement. Simultaneously
to the media the information of the
system will be delivered to the
audience by opinion leaders using
the hashtag #HearMeToo.
NOVEMBER
25 The engagement of large brands, media and
companies to the activities of the International Day for
the Elimination of Violence against Women (November
25). In this day the site logos of these companies will be
decorated with a white ribbon as a sign of struggle for
safety. Clicking on the ribbon, user will get to the neural
network app’s page.
NOVEMBER
25 In this day the media will get a release with the statistics
get from the neural network (total amount of people
asking for a help, the number of violence situations, its
types, etc.) and the information about the audience’s
reaction while the performance (how much people
interfered, how much time did they need to make a
decision and so on).
SUMMARY
#HEARMETOO The result of the campaign is the creation of the area for
interaction and discussion of the violence topic among the TA,
increasing the total society awareness of the problem.

The text gives the information of the app and brief statistics of the partner violence against women in the Republic of Belarus. OL-s engagement. Simultaneously to the media the information of the system will be delivered to the audience by opinion leaders using the hashtag #HearMeToo.
  • 7. NOVEMBER 25 The engagement of large brands, media and companies to the activities of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25). In this day the site logos of these companies will be decorated with a white ribbon as a sign of struggle for safety. Clicking on the ribbon, user will get to the neural network app’s page.

NOVEMBER 25 In this day the media will get a release with the statistics get from the neural network (total amount of people asking for a help, the number of violence situations, its types, etc.) and the information about the audience’s reaction while the performance (how much people interfered, how much time did they need to make a decision and so on).
