Agro-forestry is a collective name for land use system
involving trees combine with crops and animals on the
same unit of land .
Agro-forestry is structurally and functionally more
complex than monoculture.
Agro-forestry involved the interplay of socio-cultural
valves more than in most other land –use system.

Agro-forestry is a collective name for land use system and
Technology whereby woody perennial are deliberately used
on the same land management .
In an agroforestry system ,both ecological and
economical interaction between the various component.

5. scope of Agro-forestry
Agroforestry have vast scope in meeting the requirement through
multipurpose species.
The scope of the agroforestry is in large area is available in the form of
farm boundaries bunds waste land where this system can be adopted.
This system permit the growing suitable tree species in the field where
most annual crops are growing well.
By growing trees and crops on agriculture or forest land resources are
utilized efficiently .

Silvopasture is a form of agroforestry that combines trees with
forage and livestock production.
The trees in a silvopasture system are typically managed for hig
value sawlogs and, at the same time, provide shade and shelter
for livestock and forage
Silvopasture is successful when the tree, forage, and livestock
components are all compatible.

Alley cropping is a type of agroforestry that involves growing an
agricultural crop simultaneously with a long-term tree crop.
It is broadly defined as widely-spaced rows of trees and/or shru
(single or multiple), that create alleyways within which agricultur
crops or horticultural crops are produced.

of high-value non-timber crops under the protection of a forest canopy

It increases the productivity and enhances the profit also.
It also helps in increases the security of the yield.
It increased the fertility of soil and also helpful in preventing
the soil erosion.
Source of protection for the animals and plants form different
types of hazards.
It also help in maintaining the cycle such as nitrogen cycle,
carbon cycle etc. Conserve energy

11. Disadvantages of Agro-forestry
This system is very difficult to manage and need more
accuracy.
They yield small amount of cultivated crops as compared to
other.
