I believe that leadership development encompasses many things but it is not less of
improving leadership skills and competencies through cultivating the right management
practices. The purpose of my plan is to serve as a leader through encouraging ethical
management practices, innovation ideas and forward thinking that will lead me in achieving the
my goal of becoming an executive director in my company. To become an executive director in
my commonly, I will serve as leader and apply ethical principles of management that can enable
me thrive in every level of management that I will be promoted to and make a significant
different in every level of management through cultivating a team work with both my juniors and
seniors with the aim of achieving the objectives and goals of my company.
1) Vision Statement:
To further my leadership skill that will enable me move from an administrator to
executive director. To contribute in setting a vision for my company through contributing my
skills and knowledge in formulate the direction for both subordinate and other top leaders. As
demonstrated by early walkers in the article, to be a successful leader who can step up to the
executive levels, I am required to grasp the new wing post to support the venture into a higher
order. I am required to learn the new skills of the system and take a concerted effort of leading
effectively as well as making the required contributions to the new roles. A leader is groomed
with the image of making the best shines through vision with the grimmest picture of
decisiveness. Thus as a committed leader, I will prioritize the important needs of my company

and employees that will enable me focused on the best practices that can steer my mission. Based
on the on that article, it is important for me to embody skills and ethical principles in every
aspect; those that can relay actions in every level of management or position that I am working
in. My reading of the article as shown me that I need to be disciplined not only for myself, but to
instil the skills to my subordinate stuff. For me to get my promotions to the program
Administrator, I will present myself with the best disciplines possible and effectively practice
this tool to acquire my promotions. My vision plan involves incarnating the right knowledge and
skills needed to effectively preform every task that I am assigned in my company. Thus, every
level of promotion that I must pass through will require me to have integrity that will give me the
validity to do the right thing always. Loyalty that will enable me listen and follow instructions in
my company effectively. I believe that having these straits provide a superior sense of
commitment and purpose in performing every task in my company to the bet f my ability.
2) Action Statements:
Promotion to Associate Director: To further my leadership skills and qualities on
formulating the directions of the subordinate staffs, I am going to delegate task to my
subordinates during our staff meetings. This will open my chances of getting promotion
to the Associate Director.
Promotion to Director: To get my promotion as a director and contribute my skills in
setting a vision for my organization, I will communicate my company strategies
objective.
Promotion to Executive Director: To broaden my chances in achieving my goal of
becoming the executive director in my company, I will observe and obtain knowledge
from more experienced leaders by attending their meetings to gain more skill from them.

3) Behaviors/Steps
To achieve my action plan, it will be necessary to uncover the learnings and growth
contained in change. Developing the makeup of my psychology as a leader, I must adapt to
the changing trend in the business. I must have the integrative ability to weave together the
missing links thus bringing the disjointed pieces to meet the qualities that are need at the top
level of management. These include authentic listening, openness, and adaptability,
emotionally, impersonally and strategically to be able to be comfortable with seemingly
contradicting situations (Hansen & Carucci, 2012). This is will require me to meet many role
models like other CEO, managers and other executive managers, whom through my
interactions, will simplify and clarify certain areas that I am not able to understand.
I am required to break the old patterns and opening change to be an executive director.
Meaningful change in my organization as a leader involves letting go of the old patters and
developing new approaches of performing task. It requires me to implement new dynamic in
business that will offer me effective and easier way of achieving meaningful results. This
will require me to adopt strategies of dealing with change effectively. And thus, I will be
required to integrate the ability to delegate, communicate effectively with subordinate staff.
I will learn to trust myself with dynamic of change. Since employees trust their leaders to
be committed in their work, I will create a collaborative work environment where employee
share their knowledge in regard to achieving the organizational objectives (Cashman, 2008).
I will implement change through making the process transparent and treating employee
equally while allocating the resources of my organization. This will make my employees to
have a share vision, mission and goals of my objective.

I am require to take responsibility by committing myself no matter what changes I may
face. This is because the foundation of a guanines leadership is anchored on self-leadership,
self-trust and self-responsibility.
I will adopt a behavior of bringing beliefs to conscious awareness by opening up
opportunity that energize me and other and pausing to reflect on these beliefs. I am required
to develop awareness of my character as a leader and cope with my nature. An understanding
of myself will enable me know my strength and maximize on them and weakness to improve
on.
I will practice personal mastery with others. In this regard, I will be mindful of others in
my organization, practice strength vulnerability and share my thoughts and success with my
subordinates.
I must be agile, be persistent, believe in my strategic plan, communicate my plans with
thought and vision of my plan, focused, optimistic, emotionally intelligent an open-minded to
adopt to any situation of leadership or position that I will be working in before achieving the
final goal of becoming an executive director.
4) Measurements:
My success will be measured based on building a team of subordinates who are ready to
work with me in achieving the vision and goals as stated in my action plan. I will measure my
success when my subordinates are committed in their task and helping me achieve the goals that
are in my actin plan. This is a milestone be will be achieved by the end of 2022 and the success
rate should be between 90% -95%. My success will also be measures when I see that I have

moved from the level of associate director, director and executive director within the period of
four years.
