COVER NOTE
Andreas is an ECSA Certified professional engineer with a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC): Mines
and Works (Electrical & Mechanical) with 8 years management experience, 7 years Mechanical experience, 11
years project management experience and 15 years Electrical and Instrumentation experience on multi- cultural,
multi-disciplined mining and Heavy Industrial operations.
He has experience, knowledge, skill and training on equipment and machinery from the mining, processing,
smelting, refining, manufacturing, utility services and consulting industries during the course of his career. A sound
technical background have enabled him to direct, lead and manage teams under difficult circumstances to deliver
and exceed expectations.
Andreas is hardworking, honest, fiercely independent and convinced that moral good must win above all else. He
is independent by nature, but he is prepared to labour tirelessly for a team mission he commits to. He thrives in
situations where team morale, performance and commitment have deteriorated and see it as an opportunity.
He is a pragmatic individual who can be as tough as the situation warrants. Whenever he is asked to assume
responsibility, his desire for success leads him to want to say “Yes”. He likes to make sure that he knows what is
going on and tries to make sure that everyone is pulling their weight. He is seen as a powerful leader as he is able
to think on his feet.
As a realist, he capitalises well on available resources, making him practical, with a good sense of timing. He is
responsible and faithful to his commitments and obligations. Andreas likes to make things happen. He is adept at
homing in on the essence of complicated, confusing situations. He typically does not take constructive criticism
and disagreement personally. He welcomes tough, accurate, unrelenting critiques as helpful in achieving the
highest levels of performance and objectivity.
He is very successful in improving efficiency and reducing time wasting in situations. He attends to and likes to
remember significant events and important detail. Others need to be sure of their facts. He is seen by others as
intellectually independent. Under tension, he is still able to reflect and become more efficient and effective. His
knack for identifying and attending to key issues positions him well in dealing with an emergency and preventing
unwanted and unplanned events.

and concerns.
▪ I have learned that if I want to engage people effectively it is important to let
them hear and articulate my vision for the team, have clear goals and what the
performance expectations are.

knowledge of the different procedures and techniques used at various employers
to ensure legal required inspections and optimal asset management are done
effectively. This enabled me to lead, direct and manage with confidence a mixed
group of skilled labour (Junior Engineers & Specialists, Electrical Technician,

encouraged and which not tolerated and having safety as a value instead of a
priority.
▪ Create and enforce a culture of values and link it to practical situations and
effects of compliance and non-compliance in the workplace.
▪ Interact, negotiate and engage union leaders to assist with new strategies and
problems in the workforce.
