Professional summary
Time served Mechanical professional within the paper industry, has a wide and varied amount of different
skills acquired along the way. A proven record in managing & leading a maintenance team with the end
goal to ensure uptime is at a premium, and downtime is analised to ensure reduction is maintained.
Demonstrated strengths include:
- Communication and presentation - Maximising performance
- Leading positive change - Project Management
- Improving quality - Positive approach to Challenges
- Maintaining Health & Safety standards - Control of contactors
Maintenance strategies:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Electrical, Mechanical and Process Engineering within the
paper industry
Achievements:
Continuous improvement has always been at the fore front of what ever I do whether its make a task
easier, renew to get best available technology or simply small changes to make a process slicker, leaner,
or more energy efficient.
I have been involved in many projects, but one of the largest was In 2010 when I installed an over head
crane with capacity to lift 20 tons, as the project leader, this involved pulling together a document of
specifications, going out to tender, then selecting the supplier and ensuring the price was within budget.
Following on from the purchase, then there was the installation, which involved a major shut down of the
plant, so timing was critical, the new crane needed to be installed and the old crane removed, contractors
were also selected for this process, and health and safety was at the fore front of the planning process.
I was also involved in another crane job in 2002, were by the end of the building was removed, and the
overhead crane removed and placed on the floor were by both end carriages were replaced, and this
involved machine shut time and meticulous panning.
