CIVILS SUPERVISOR - January 2013 –Present
Having overall responsibility for effectively managing the plant, labour and equipment to achieve
maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness. Making preparations before work begins on site
including communicating with the workforce, Safety advisors and engineers. Also in charge of
keeping track of progress and ensuring that projects are on time.
Duties:
Responsible for planning/generating projected works spreadsheet to submit for co-
ordination with other contractors on site.
Requesting and obtaining permits to work as required for each task.
Daily management of 5 drainage/groundworks gangs & 1 snagging/quality gang.
Ensuring that all quality control, environmental and health and safety requirements are
met.
Keeping accurate records of the installation of site wide services also generating QITP sign
off sheets for each section of works complete. ( keeping QA up to date)
Sourcing Plant & materials as required (task specific).
Daily completion of Allocation sheets in a cost plus situation whereby sheets must be
accurate and detailed.
Completing Plant & Labour returns weekly including any new plant/equipment hired in to
be signed off by the client. The worker’s wages are based on this spreadsheet.
2. Planning site activities in detail, setting targets and accurately forecasting completion
dates via programming/numbering outstanding services, generating spreadsheets with
realistic timescales and delays/obstructions included.
Accurately estimate material, construction and labour costs as well as project timescales.
Directly supervising workforce.
Keeping accurate records of delays/obstruction & contractor interface which may hinder
production making senior management aware as soon as possible.
Representing K Rouse in weekly contractor progress meetings with the client. Also
attending daily coordination meetings to avoid contractor interface & ensure planned
works are not disrupted.
