I was part of a teamof 4 specialiststhatwentthroughthe entire TermDepositSystemtoensure thatthe
systemwascompliantforY2K. Thisincludedmakingchangeswhereappropriate andintegrationtestingthe
entire applicationona “Year 2000 CPU”.
I was part of the a teamof 3 specialiststhatwentthroughthe entire TermDepositSystemtoconvertthe
systemfromCobol toCobol II. Thisincludedmakingchangeswhere appropriate,especiallyinareaswhere
we couldimprove performance andintegrationtestingthe entireapplication.
I was on-call forproductionsupportof the TermDepositSystemona rotational basis.
In charge of all reportingchangestothe systemandresponsible tomentornew staff tothe reportingsub-
systemof the application.Iwasresponsible forthe designof all changestothe sub-systemandpersonally
made 90% of the changes.
Took overthe maintenance of ourin-house testtool.ThiswasdevelopedusingIBM’sTPNStool.We used
testscriptsthat couldbe playedoverandoveragain,butalsocombineditwitha database of testdata that
wouldchange fromtestcycle to testcycle. Thisallowedustoopennew accounts,make depositsand
withdrawals,andclose accountsfromcycle tocycle.My role wasto ensure thatthe testscripts functioned
properlyandthat the data mappingfromthe database wascorrect. Wheneverthe QA teamwould
encounterunpredictedresults,Iwouldinvestigate if the problemswerewithourtesttool,withtheir
database of testdata or inthe interpretationof the businessrules.
Regularlymetwithusersof reportstoimprove onexistingreports,create new onesanddeleteobsolete
ones.Forexample,whenfraudwasdetected,Idevelopedasetof reportsto be usedby the branchesto
identifyfraudsassoonaspossible.
Part of the firstteamto use CSF (CustomStatementFormatter) toproduce ourstatements.
