recapitulation .many of the characteristic
features of earlier years appear again
during this period.

The adolescent is intensely emotional.
He fluctuates between two extremes. He
may be active and happy at one time and
moody and dull at another.

An adolescent is essentially a
hero – worshipper.

Adolescent shows interest in
physical attractiveness and good
grooming

Self – consciousness is too much
developed in adolescence.

Sex – consciousness become too
intense at this time. They become
interested in opposite sex and in
extreme case homosexuality is
established.

The adolescent have strong desire to
achieve self – sufficiency and make
himself quite independent like an adult
member of the society.

There is a strong tendency of self –
assertion that is prominent due to the
new orientation sets in life.

Peer group relationship is too
much intense during adolescence.

11. 10.
The adolescence wants to free
himself from bondage. There is a
tendency to revolt against authority.
